The online soccer community is abuzz with recent statements from Commissioner Garber (courtesy
of Steve Davis), that MLS has raised its expansion fee for a 20th team to $100 million for the New
York market. According to Davis' article, the league remains focused on New York for team 20,
but has not set a timetable for that expansion.

dedicated to bringing Major League Soccer back to South Florida. They also organize MLS watch
party's and will soon lead a pilgrimage of South Florida soccer fans to invade an MLS game to

The big weekend story for MLS fans was the combine in Fort Lauderdale. The most notable sponsor
name at the combine is adidas, the league Players, coaches, league personnel and other descended on
the city for a couple of days of scouting, mingling and more. Perhaps most notable are the waves
of soccer agents who attend the games, stake out the hotels and approach players with an eye
towards securing unaffiliated athletes for their roster.
