Wins for São Paulo and Flamengo left them in 1st and 2nd place respectively with just three games to go in the Campeonato Brasiliero.

53,000 turned up at the estádio Morumbi as São Paulo took on Vitória in on Saturday.

After a very bad start, the firing of Muricy Ramalho, the questions about Ricardo Gomes and the players and seating on the 15th spot, Sao Paulo reached the second spot.

Internacional have made it through to the 2009 Copa do Brasil final after Coritiba were unable to turn around a 3-1 deficit from the first leg.
A 1-0 victory to Coritiba at the Estádio Couto Pereira saw the tie finish 3-2 to Inter on aggregate. Under pressure for much of the game, Inter relied on the impressive Lauro to keep Coritiba and finished the match with ten men after Bolívar recieved his second yellow card late on. Wolves played beyond expectations

Even though their primary aim was reaching Champions League for the first time, after the first part of the season, even that seemed unreachable for Felix Magath's men. The Wolves were the best hosts with only two points dropped at home, while they have gone whole autumn without winning away.

Nun ist es für Marcelinho endlich vollbracht. Er darf dem Training fernbleiben. Für immer. Heute wurde er offiziell verabschiedet und sitzt nun wohl schon wieder im Flieger Richtung Rio de Janeiro. Es ging durch die Presse, Marcelinho ist am Wochenende in einer Diskothek in ( na sagen wir mal ) Ärger verwickelt gewesen. Angeblich soll er sogar handgreiflich geworden sein. So sagt es zumindest ein Geschädigter. Ich war nicht dabei, daher lass ich das mal unkommentiert. Allerdings! Marcelinho wurde vom Verein mit einer Geldstrafe belegt. Click to continue reading...
