Really sad news out of Spain. A day after being appointed Villareal coach, Manuel Preciado
passes away. He was just 54 years of age.

On Wednesday, 54-year-old Manuel "Manolo" Preciado was announced as relegated Villarreal's new
manager and the man tasked with getting the club back in La Liga as quickly as possible. A press
conference unveiling Preciado was scheduled for Friday, but early Thursday morning Preciado
suffered a heart attack and passed away.
Less than 24 hours after signing on at Villarreal as their new coach, former Sporting Gijon
manager Manuel Preciado suffered a fatal heart attack and died last night at the age of 54. He was
due to be officially unveiled at El Madrigal later this very morning.
Manuel Preciado, who only yesterday signed on with Villarreal CF to become their new coach from
next season, has sadly died from a heart attack today, aged 54.
Preciado was mainly associated as a player with Racing Santander but also featured for clubs
such as Real Mallorca and Deportivo Alaves.
