Lasse Hallstrom's classic did not feature Carlos Tevez
Last week it was the Anfield cat decidedly unimpressed by Brad Friedel's overtures, yesterday it
was Carlos Tevez whining about how he was "treated like a dog" by Roberto Mancini.
Lets face it, Joleon Lescott scoring City's winners is a sign of serious trouble because Wayne
Rooney has ominously kicked it up a notch for Utd.

Darron Gibson, did his former club Man Utd a huge favour by striking the one lethal blow last
evening. Landon Donovan continuing his great assist work. City were undone before one could say
Denis Stracqualursi.
Goodison Park is not exactly happy hunting grounds for City, winning only two of their last 15
encounters in that venue.
There was some fond hope that the man handcuffed to the goalpost was making a grandiose
statement about the unholy sums of money destroying football (read City). Or maybe he had tried
handcuffing himself to a badger the previous evening with unsatisfying results and wanted something
different.
Video: Carling Cup: Liverpool/Man City
Kenny Dalglish feeling the heat after a series of underwhelming displays by Liverpool in the
Premiership was able to get a satisfying consolation in today's Carling Cup match pipping City to
the Wembley finals.
Nigel De Jong gave City the lead to level the aggregate.

The first half was as dull and dragging as the Utd vs Arsenal match. The second half was just
the opposite - a high voltage pulsating encounter between 1st placed City and 3rd placed Spurs.
Roberto Mancini's squad went ahead in the second half through Samir Nasri and Joleon Lescott, both
goals within minutes of each other.
Inter has tabled a £20.7m bid for the serial wantaway but Claudio Ranieri's statements show he
remains unconvinced of Tevez's value to the team.
"There is balance now and the team has become solid. So we need to understand how much this
lad can give and how much he can take away.

Roberto Mancini reignited his feud with Wayne Rooney as he brandished an imaginary red card

Glen Johnson's two footed lunge on Joleon Lescott
Watch Glen Johnson's tackle on Joleon Lescott and tell me why Vincent Kompany was sent off for
his tackle on Nani and Johnson wasn't?
Tevez's 52 goals in 91 City appearances may again prove appealing to Mancini

Have at the 20 minutes highlights before it is taken down. Stefan Savic brings down Daniel Agger
and Steven Gerrard converts the PK in the 12th minute. Liverpool were much the better team for
large parts of the match in the first half. In the second they played good hard defensive ball to
deny City at the Etihad.
The latest L'Uomo Vogue has Mario Balotelli featured on the cover and a candid and revealing
interview with the City star that doesn't quite give the lie to a grumpy, immature, prankster. Yes,
he did total his £100,000 Audi the next day, set off firecrackers in his bathroom causing major
damage, got into a training ground spat with Micah Richards, and earned Mancini's disapproval
smoking cigarettes.

Vincent Kompany should never have been sent off. It wasn't a blind lunging two foot tackle which
could have harmed Nani. He actually goes low to corral the ball with his right instep and gets it
very cleanly. There was little contact.
Chris Foy really made a royal mess.
Paul Scholes is back to Utd
Man Utd is making Rob Smyth eat his words. Wayne Rooney has scored two including a penalty and
Danny Welbeck's wondrous volley rounds of the tally.
Vincent Kompany was sent off in the 12th minute for a two footed tackle on Nani which got the
ball but not the man however Chris Foy, who else (memories of the Spurs vs Stoke match linger on)
thought differently.

Pepe Reina flubbed what should have been a fairly simple stop off a Sergio Aguero drive.
Liverpool dominated possession thereafter but it was City once again going up through Yaya Toure's

Gerrard and Craig Bellamy were introduced by Kenny Dalglish after an hour and Liverpool looked
more mobile going forward although they failed to look threatening in the final third once
again.

Sunderland continued the theme of the underdogs upsetting the favourites this weekend as they
stunned City at the Stadium of Light with as Ji Dong-won's last second goal. Clearly offside. But
the Black Cats won't be complaining. And it was a lovely bit of skill by the South Korean as he
slalomed around Joe Hart to caress the ball into an open goal.
Juventus pushed themselves into pole position to acquire Carlos Tevez. On offer: £21m for the
much troubled striker. Juve's Serie rivals, Milan are also interested but their loan offer for the
next six months with a possible permanent deal at the end of the season was not attractive to City,
who are looking to get rid of Tevez permanently.
Halloween came early to Old Trafford
City fans would like nothing more than Sunday's humiliation of Utd to signal a shift in the
balance of power. Pundits are already debating its merits. 6-1 is a historic statement and the
margin could have been even larger if Edin Dzeko had been on target in his first few attempts.
Carlos Tevez faces the maximum allowable punishment under league rules plus docked two weeks of
pay which amounts to £500,000. Pocket change for the league's most well paid player. Stiffer
penalties are being contemplated including banning Tevez from any further participation in the
sport.
The more savoury outcome for Tevez will be a January transfer at a bargain basement price to a
club who look on themselves as halfway houses for disturbed players.
Carlos Tevez's new home
The dust has barely settled but Carlos Tevez is already getting offers. This one from Limavady
United in the second division of the Northern Ireland league.
The raison d'etre for this one goes something like this, " We are sure you will appreciate our
efforts to keep Tevez from getting fat prior to his sale.
The people's player is getting a bit of a earful back home. Pablo Ramon for Ole:
" At Man Utd, Carlos Tevez enjoyed an idolatry that fell apart when the two parted company.
Now he is ending in the other half of the city by ruining his reputation."
" What Tevez seems to forget, to rebel is one thing, to confuse rights with obligations is
yet another.

It's looking a bit like a video game where you score points for bad behaviour
Tell me whose jaw did not drop seeing Roberto Mancini sub Edin Dzeko with Nigel De Jong
with City two goals down? Which manager does that? There is enough attacking talent left on the
City bench to launch a third world war and Mancini goes for a holding midfielder.
Quite the plot. Someone in the middle of the night sometime last year managed to hack into City
CEO Garry Cook's email, to send a highly offensive reply to Nedum Onuoha's mother, who has cancer,
ridiculing her illness. The reaction was predictably one of outrage.
The reply was addressed to Brian Marwood, City's director of football operations but the hacker
clicked on reply all and the damage was done.
"I really believe if you are a player who thinks only about money then you could end up
at Manchester City," said Clichy. "You have to think if you want to play for a big club

Jussi Jaskailanen could have done better with a David Silva shot which he failed to stop

sentence?
Samir Nasri maybe flying Etihad
This news if true could be the best bit of business for Arsenal as yet. Nasri would have left on
a Bosman with his contract in it's last year.
City and Utd were both looking for a creative midfielder and had sounded their interest in Nasri
earlier in the transfer window but at that time the club was intent on negotiating with him over
improved terms.
We waited and waited: Samuel Beckett did write about this though
Man City showed us two ways they could score goals. A clever set piece and an open field
piledriver which David De Gea could have stopped.
United showed a dozen ways. The equalizer was initiated by Tom Cleverly and what ensued was an
intricate web of passes with preternatural positioning involving Danny Welbeck, Wayne Rooney, and
Nani as they wove their way around a tightly packed City defense.
Sergio Aguero now in a location near you
Carlos Tevez must have got the message loud and clear. Whether he leaves or doesn't Sergio
Aguero is set to join City at an estimated price of £38m. However it does set up a quandary for
Roberto Mancini who seems to have a line up promising to break all sorts of goalscoring records but
are emotionally and mentally brittle.

As the commentator points out Danny Rose, a familiar name to Arsenal fans was a step slow in
