Some People are On The Pitch 20 November @ 06:27 AM EST
Saturday 21st November
11:00 Rubin Kazan v Zenith St Petersburg, Russian Premier Liga, ESPN
What better way to return to club football than by watching a potential domestic title decider? Yep, it's starting to get a bit parky in Russia and this is the penultimate round of the season. Click to continue reading...

England: Premier League Report + Table

Sanford's Soccer Net 05 November @ 09:33 AM EST
Three points, two injuries, one hero: this was a mixed night for West Ham United that ended in pure joy. When injuries to Carlton Cole and Hérita Ilunga were followed by a freakish equaliser for Aston Villa, the scene seemed set for yet another promising performance to end in another disappointing result. UCL roundup

The Beautiful Game (2) 04 November @ 07:16 AM EST
Group A
Bayern Munich 0-2 Bordeaux -- A frustrating home loss for the Germans will add some more heat to coach Louis Van Gaal's seat. Bayern will likely miss out of the round of 16 thanks to goals from Yoann Gourcuff and Marouane Chamakh. The French team advanced.
Maccabi Haifa 0-1 Juventus -- The Italian side was riddled with injuries, but only needed a 45th minute goal from Camoranesi for the road win. Click to continue reading...

EPL roundup (coaches on the hot seat)

The Beautiful Game (2) 02 November @ 10:34 AM EST
I haven't been paying much attention to the Premiership action these last couple weeks, but one glance at the table shows my pick Chelsea still leading the way.
Liverpool has a gastly 6-5-0 record, so I can only imagine that Reds fans and the English press are putting the pressure on Rafa Benitez (above). Click to continue reading...

Monday 2 November

The Blades are in an awful slump that could see them in big trouble if they don't snap out of it quick. A last minute winner from Kevin Nolan ended Newcastle's own winless run last time out but they can go back top with a win here. Click to continue reading...

Chelsea back on top (EPL roundup)

The Beautiful Game (2) 05 October @ 05:01 AM EST
After a slip last week against Wigan, it didn't take long for the Blues to regain the Premiership lead. Didier Drogba turned from goalscorer to playmaker and Chelsea handed Liverpool a 2-0 defeat, the Reds third loss of the season.
The reason Carlo Ancelotti's team isn't in a tie for first is because Manchester United laid a stinker at home against Sunderland, but managed a 2-2 draw thanks to Anton Ferdinand's (right) last-gasp own goal. Click to continue reading...

An intriguing one this. While Schalke lie fourth, they desperately need to improve matters at home having lost five of their last six matches at the Veltins-Arena. Chivas USA, from a British Point of View (Guest Blogger Simon)

Chivas USA from the Stands 28 September @ 06:20 PM EST

The Crowd=The Passion

Goats v Bulls ,

My name is Simon a 30 something Brit now living here in sunny California ,

I was born in Swindon England where I lived pretty much all my life ,

My team is my home town club Swindon Town F.C. , an unfashionable

Small team from Wiltshire , for 30 years I followed my Robins from the lows of

The old division 4 to the dizzy high of the premiership only to fall from

Grace to the foot of England's professional leagues ,

On arrival to the states I was keen to check out the local "soccer" for my personal

Views about football and my ultra mentality I could not follow nor shout for galaxy ,

For their golden boy becks and his one time links to Manchester Utd , but for now I shall

Save those views for another time ,

Chivas USA came to my attention and now for the last year the goats have substituted my Robins ,

For my footballing fix.

We start this week with another all-too-rare dipping of the toes into the world of Northern Irish football. You have to go back almost exactly three years for the last time Cliftonville beat Linfield in a league fixture and on current form fourth-placed Linfield should beat their opponents three places below them again. Invincible Hotspurs Beaten By Manchester United In Injustice Shocker!

pavlyuchenko's vodka bottle 12 September @ 02:31 PM EST

"owww!"

Wasn't expecting that. Not at all. Well. Ok, maybe from watching the game you could argue that after Defoe took his goal with a bicycle kick, (something that would cause the majority of Spurs fans to erupt in one way or another); the fact that Berbatov had obviously dived to gain the free kick that Giggs slotted home was a trifle unfair.

Still dreaming

Spurs musings from JimmyG2 11 September @ 12:47 PM EST
I know I´m trying to jump on the bandwagon just as it disappears round the corner, well actually two bandwagons, like a crazed charioteer out of Ben Hur, but first: what is the point of Emile ´the bulldozer´ Heskey? And second didn´t our boys do well? So that's me nicely caught up to date and its only Manchester Utd. Click to continue reading...

Wenger puts on a show at OT (EPL roundup)

The Beautiful Game (2) 31 August @ 05:02 AM EST
Perhaps the biggest game of the short Premiership season took place last weekend as Arsenal traveled to Old Trafford, ending in a 2-1 win for the Red Devils.
Surprisingly, it wasn't the result that people were talking about afterward. No it was the craziness at the end, when Gunners coach Arsene Wenger was banished to the stands after pouting over a RVP disallowed goal. Click to continue reading...

Manchester Utd 2-1 Arsenal

Arsene Wenger puts on an entertaining show for the Old Trafford faithful

Whenever these two teams play each other it is always eventful. A game where luck seemed to be on United's side, with two penalty decisions going their way, an calamitous error from a player who was dubbed the 'next Vieira' just last week when he inspired his team to victory over Portsmouth, and who could forget the great entertainment shown by the opposition's manager at the end?

Manchester Utd 2-1 Arsenal

So, an early defeat, but I'm still scratching my head to work out how we came out of that game with nul points.

Last season, in our second game we capitulated meekly to Fulham at Craven Cottage, a defeat that set the tone for the next six months.

Hands off Modric red cheeks

White Hart Pain 20 August @ 09:24 AM EST

As much as I've been enjoying myself since ten to five on Sunday, I've managed to find something to take the shine off ever so slightly. I saw a worrying quote in the press yesterday from Harry Redknapp regarding our little legend Luka Modric. I'm sure you all read it but it was the bit about Sir Alex that got me thinking.
