Given I only get to the ground about ten minutes before kick-off, I missed the opportunity to
buy the latest edition of Red Issue which went on sale today. Why? Because the GMP,
without receiving a single complaint, deemed the picture on the back page "potentially offensive"
so went about confiscating it and threatening the sellers with arrest.

Police have confirmed that the confiscated all of the copies of the United fanzine, Red Issue,
that were floating around outside Old Trafford today which featured cut-out 'Suarez Is Innocent' Ku
Klux Klan masks for United fans to hold in front of their faces to bait Liverpool as the teams
emerged from the tunnel.
"Who can follow a man like you as manager of United?" asked a journalist looking for a sound
bite that he could relay across England. "Oh I don't know about that," replied Sir Matt Busby in a
thick Scottish accent with a proud smile across his face.
The year was 1969.
It's understandable why it's forgotten even amongst the staunchest Manchester United
supporters.
Benjamin Franklin once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and
over and expecting different results. With this definition in mind events at the Emirates stadium
on Sunday could lead some Arsenal supporters to question the mental health of their manager.
Sunday 28th August 2011 will be a date forever etched on the minds of Arsenal and Manchester
United supporters alike, remembered with very differing degrees of fondness.
After receiving reduced allocation at Anfield for the league game, reports today suggest that
United will get a proper allocation of around 6,000 for our FA Cup game against Liverpool at the
end of this month.
"We have taken into account the improvement of the Manchester United supporters at the most
recent Premier League fixture relating to the blocking of gangways and aisles," said Stephen
Clare, Liverpool City Council's principal licensing officer.
Football has a habit of re-writing history. If it isn't trotting out statistics with the prefix
"since the Premier League began", then it's defining a relatively arbitrary cut-off point of
"post-war". Despite these handy devices it has not stopped Manchester United supporters claiming
superiority over Liverpool with their 19 titles (first title won in 1908), one ahead of Liverpool's
18 (first one won in 1921).
Perhaps it is all a matter of perception. For clubs at one end of the spectrum, a home defeat at
the hands of a local rival may be enough to start the tabloids gossiping. Supporters of Aldershot
Town could be forgiven for shrugging their shoulders at such relative trivialities. They, in March
of 1992, lost their club with two months of the season left to play and had to begin again the
following season as a new club, in the Ryman League Division Three.

According to the Metro among others, as Man City's leading example of austerity and demure
sophistication, 'Mario Balotelli: Party Liaison' has stepped forward and duly volunteered himself
to organise Man City's Christmas shindig this year.

The Museum & Stadium Tour of Manchester United's Old Trafford ground, the self-styled "Theatre of
Dreams" is hugely popular with football fans from all over the world, not just Manchester United
supporters.
Participants of our tour included visitors from Hong Kong and Russia as well as Swansea City
supporters in Manchester for their team's Monday night game with Manchester City.
In the back-and-forth battle between Manchester City and Manchester United supporters during the
past two years, which included billboards in the city advertising ‘Welcome to Manchester' adorned

One of the more dispiriting cycles in which an element of English football support finds itself
trapped reared its ugly head again last night. The unfailing of a flag with the word "Istanbul"
spray-painted across the middle of it was yet another example of the culture of perpetual abuse and
contempt that some seem to actively enjoy these days, and those of us that sit on the outside
peering in can only watch in wonder at the mentality of anybody that would seek to revel in the
death of anybody in the name of what passes for "banter" these days.
Glazer family was asked by The Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) to use the income from
their proposed Singapore Stock Market flotation to remove the club's huge debt. Although

Everton captain Phil Neville upset some of the club's fans by sitting among Manchester United
supporters to watch the champions' game at West Brom on Sunday. I don't see what he did wrong. In
fact, it's typical of him to be honest and up-front about his actions.
It's now 21 years since Liverpool – for so long the most successful club in league history –
last won the English top flight title. While Manchester United supporters have celebrated 12
titles...

Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena for the 2011 MLS All-Star Game, the electricity was floating
in the air and you could feel it, sense it and smell it.
Before the game, the streets near Red Bull Arena were filled with games. Hardest shot contest,
Soccer tennis, playing X-Box with FIFA 2011, writing signs for your favorite players and of course
a picture next to the Philip Anschutz trophy (MLS Cup) so you could have a keepsake.

Manchester United fans face seeing their ticket allocation for October's Barclays Premier League
clash with Liverpool slashed by more than a third because of "persistent standing" issues at
Anfield.
A report submitted to Liverpool City Council has recommended cutting the visiting supporters'
capacity from 3,015 to 1,965 in an attempt to combat the problem of people blocking gangways.
Safety fears may see cut to away allocation at Anfield
An advisory group has recommended to Liverpool City Council that they cut the allocation for
Manchester United fans for the Premier League clash against Liverpool in October. The Ground
Safety Advisory Group (GSAG) made the recommendations after studying the behaviour of Manchester
United supporters at Anfield in April.
Fanatical Liverpool supporter Sheldon Xavier can't wait for Liverpool to arrive in his home city of

Multi-racial Malaysia, with an estimated population of 27.5 million and with a total landmass of

The Sunday Times reported yesterday that the team is considering selling shares on the Hong Kong
stock exchange in a move that could potentially raise £1.7bn.
Selling shares via a stock float will allow the Glazers to take money out of the club without
selling the club or adding to the clubs debt.

Some Manchester United supporters may want to erase the game from their minds, but many may want to
watch to see where improvements can be made in future conquests. For fans of other fans and
neutrals, the above video is an interesting analysis of...

Pep gets the "treatment" following FC Barcelona's 3-1 victory over Manchester United (Photo:

I was at Wembley with my brother and father, two long-time United supporters, and my mother who
supports Barcelona and wore her Lionel Messi jersey proudly. We found our seats only to realize
that our tickets were in the last section of the Manchester United supporters.
"Totally outlcassed"; "you just can't argue with that they're just too good!"; "we're the best
of the rest, at least...". But a selection of the comments I have heard from Manchester United fans
in the wake of their club's second capitulation to Barcelona's incomparable passing football in
three years.
Carly Lyes, a trainee social worker and season-ticket holder in the Stretford End who has been
going regularly to Old Trafford since she was 11, said she had displayed a "Love United Hate
Glazer" banner for "two to three minutes" before the home leg of the Champions League quarter-final
against Chelsea on 12 April.
Now can you dig that!?

The Glazers have revealed that they will lower ticket prices for Tampa Bay Bucs by as much as
30% after complaints from the fans.
"We have spent a lot of time listening to fans at a time when our team is thriving and our
economy is not," said Joel Glazer. "As a result, we are now offering several pricing changes in
response to our community's needs.
More news to report on the speculation surrounding the future ownership of MUFC. Bloomberg today
reported that bonds of Manchester United rose to a record high amid speculation that the Premier
League leaders could soon be sold to the Qatari royal family. This latest news follows similar
press reports in the Daily Mail and Daily Express over recent weeks.

FC United were set up by fed up Manchester United supporters who turned their back on the club
