Red Rants 20 November @ 04:22 PM EST
We continue to edge closer to United related news, but this was too difficult to pass up. When
the King speaks we have to listen:
"I think that Raymond Domenech is the worst coach in French football since Louis XVI. If it was
up to me, I'd put (Bordeaux coach) Laurent Blanc in charge of the France team," the former
Manchester United hero continued.

After some less than impressive banners from SEF of late, it looks as though there's a good
selection on offer to vote for this time around. The banner will cost around £650 to make and only
paying members of SEF can have their say.

Jeff Winter has been causing a bit of a fuss of late with his seemingly totally biased and
negative opinions against our manager.
No manager has ever been given a touchline ban for comments he made about a referee but Winter
went as far as claiming Ferguson should have been given a FIFA stadium ban!

Fabio Capello is a pretty bright chap.
"There was never any doubt that I would play for Wales, my family wouldn't have let me play

After Manchester United were robbed by the referee against Chelsea at the weekend, Wayne Rooney
walked off the pitch and mouthed "12 men" at the Sky Sports camera. He has since been warned by the
FA over his future conduct.
Rooney has today explained his comments, acknowledging he probably shouldn't have said it, but
sure he would have said worse!

The Times: They [United] had been the more assertive team throughout, defending
diligently and attacking with purpose when the opportunity arose, and would surely have claimed
something from the game, quite possibly a victory, had not the two big refereeing decisions gone in
Chelsea's favour.

The decision of Manchester United and Liverpool not to have an embroidered red poppy on their
shirts has caused quite a fuss. United have said that the poppy will not show up on their shirts
and with all the work and charity they already do for the armed forces, don't feel that joining
other Premiership clubs in having a poppy on their shirt will add to the contribution.

Apparently our players have great manners... according to a cabin crew's revealing stories in
The Times today.
We often get football teams flying to European games, and it's always interesting to see how
they behave. Without doubt the rudest was Spurs. They were going to Prague a couple of years ago,
and they were all very impolite.

Before I write this, let me admit it's almost 3am and I'm very drunk. It's Halloween, I look
like a zombie, and I've been talking about United all evening.
In my drunkard status I have settled on several points of view:
1. Dimitar Berbatov is a world class player.
2. Antonio Valencia has the makings of a great United winger.

'All the international managers have their jobs to do and we support that, particularly when it
comes to the issue of competitive games like the European Championships or the World Cup.

Phillippe Auclair has written a brilliant book on Eric Cantona which gives a really interesting
look behind the scenes of our hero's career.
RoM gave away a copy of this book last month and previewed the book using part of one of the
chapters over the weekend.
Phillippe has given an exclusive interview with me which explores his understanding of Eric's
relationship with the fans, his feelings on that incident at Selhurst Park and how he sees Eric as
an untamed man.

With just over half an hour played Jamie Carragher fouled Michael Carrick in the penalty area.
He got a foot to the ball but didn't put it out of Carrick's path, yet he did bring our midfielder
down. If it had happened outside of the box it would have been an obvious freekick and a yellow
card. For it to happen inside of the box it should have been a penalty and at least a yellow card,
yet the referee gave nothing.

Derby day was massive this year because for the first time in decades City were tipped to
actually stand a chance not because of derby day unpredictability, but because they actually had
good players.
For us to batter them like we did for the second half really should have put them in their place
but it looked as though the bragging rights had been stolen away from us when Rio Ferdinand
bizarrely chose to try to flick the ball over Craig Bellamy's head which lead to City's last minute
equaliser.

Without setting the world alight, Manchester United proved again how far we have come in Europe
over the past few years. Of course, you could argue the two appearances in the last two European
Cup finals already have shown that, but it's results like the one last night in Moscow that do it
for me.

You would think having identical twins playing mirrored positions of right back and left back
was fairly unique, as is the case with our Brazilians Rafael and Fabio da Silva. CSKA Moscow are
giving us a run for our money though with their identical full back twins, Aleksei and

It was a moment we will have probably forgotten in a year from now, but at the time, it felt
like one of the worst moments of the decade.
The return of Carlos Tevez to Old Trafford had been built up beyond belief, with some sections
of the press claiming he should be greeted warmly, whilst others recognised that he was deserving
of the abuse he would receive.
