Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a wily old fox and, when he saw that Mikael Silvestre was preparing to leave Man Utd and go to Man City, he instantly sent word to Silvestre that he wouldn't mind having him at the Emirates. According to The S*n, Silvestre ditched Man City ... Click to continue reading...

How to scare Arsenal fans to death

...link a 31-year old, injury-prone, error-prone defender to the club and make him look like Wenger's first choice partner for another 31-year old, injury-prone, error-prone defender. They're both pretty fast though (fast enough to escape from Man City / Sunderland and Chelsea, respectively), although it'll be interesting to see if Wenger says 'I didn't see [. 1. Debut goals are easy When Arsenal debutant Samir Nasri scored just four minutes into his Premier League career, he set the tone for goalscoring debutants over the weekend. Berbatov deal intrigue as Reds set to face Barcodes...

0
A quick trawl in search of the latest on the Dimitar Berbatov saga has yielded nothing at all, which could mean one of several scenarios; there's nothing to report, or more likely the deal has been done and is subject to a news embargo. I'm actually leaning towards the later because following on from yesterday's opening day damp squib; it's a very quiet news weekend. Click to continue reading...

Prem 08-09: Fearless Predictions

0
And with the season upon us, it's time for more predictions which will almost certainly not come true because my crystal ball is dirty and unreliable. Just like Man City's ownership. Premier League 2008/9 Picks - Week 1

0
It's a bit of a Premier League predict-o-rama on The Offside today. I've already taken a shot at what the final 2008/9 Premiership table will look like (or more likely won't) and Chris has weighed up the likely winners and losers in the sack race (if the sack race actually has winners.) But now it's [. Click to continue reading...

Next Galaxy coach LINKS

We all know Cobi ain't the long-term answer for the Galaxy.

The L.A. Times think Nowak is the one favored. But at last night's Super Clasico, that Leiweke dude was chilling with Arena and raving about the former USMNT coach.

Here's 10th to 1st in SSN's preview of the the new EPL season. It even comes with a new added feature [also added retrospectively to yesterday's list]: 'Team Dickhead', just in case you were looking for one person to boo in every team. I was going to name the title 'Team Wanker', but for obvious reason went with 'dickhead' instead. Click to continue reading...

Premier League Prediction: Final Standings 2008/9

The Premier League gets underway tomorrow, and I'm feeling brave. So brave that I've taken a (likely woefully inaccurate) guess at how the 2008/9 Premier League table will finish, one to twenty. Read on to see what the final table almost certainly won't look like, and even further on to where I try and justify my [. Click to continue reading...
