Enfiiiiim, the Champions League draw has been made.... and holy Mother of Kun, it screams IRONY! Real have been grouped with Milan (and hence, the "What-is-Kaka-going-to-do-at-the-San-Siro" theories have started) while Barca will face Inter in a game where Ibracadabra and Eto'o go head to head in a mind-blowing game of Futbol Swap.

Though the first Serie A matches were on Saturday, the new season did not officially begin until 42 minutes into the Inter Milan v Bari match when Marco Materazzi earned his first yellow card of the new year for this tackle on Edgar Alvarez.

It even elicited a "Mamma mia!" out of the commentator, thus firmly cementing the return of Italian football.

Man City, the richest club in the World, cannot buy an away win in the Premiership apart from their one and only win at Sunderland when they won 3-0. Since then City have lost at Villa 4-2, Bolton (yesterday) 2-0, Middlesboro 2-0, drew in Toon Land 2-2 and lost at Wigan 2-1.
