Montreal Regains Hope for MLS Franchise

The Montreal Impact felt like they were duped when they withdrew their bid for a MLS franchise after finding out that the MLS is charging a $40 million expansion fee. The Impact could have been playing in the MLS by 2011 had they followed through with the deal. However, not all is lost for the Canadian soccer team.

Seattle Sounders Eliminates F.C. Dallas

The Seattle Sounders shut down any hopes for the F.C. Dallas winning the Major League Soccer Cup this year by eliminating them from the playoffs. Saturday night's game at the Qwest Fields in Seattle was a saddening loss for Dallas when they let in two goals, ending the game 2-1.

Beckham Interested in Montreal Impact

If you read this blog often you'll notice that I am of course a soccer fan but that I love the Montreal Impact and the Bordeaux Girondins. So when I heard the news that David Beckham was interested in being part owner of the Montreal Impact and helping them find their way into the MLS I nearly hit the roof.

Ottawa Seeks USL Addition in 2012

Ottawa, Ontario has announced that they will be added to the United Soccer Leagues First Division for the 2012 season as the Ottawa Fury. The deal with the USL is however conditional that they upgrade the proposed Frank Clair Stadium at Lansdowne Park to their standards.

April 7, 2012 - The new New York Cosmos to Face Old Foe In West Coast Clash The reborn New York Cosmos FC will play against a familiar name from it's NASL days, the Seattle Sounders. Seattle reports that all 37,300 tickets have been sold for the marquee Saturday match up on ESPN.

REPORT: ESPN UK Broadcast Remaining MLS Season

Yesterday, ESPN announced that the sports channel's football coverage would be extended to include matches from the top-flight domestic competitions in Germany, Portugal, Russia and the Netherlands.
The US broadcaster has also secured the UK and Ireland rights to air the remainder of the Major Soccer League competition in the US, featuring David Beckham's LA Galaxy.
