Voronin.
The Liverpool striker has been linked with a move away from Anfield after failing to establish
himself in the Reds first team, with manager Rafael Benitez preferring David Ngog as back-up for
star forward Fernando Torres.

during the summer of 2009. In March this year, the Mainzer were forced to say goodbye to their
influential midfielder Markus Feulner who had signed a pre-contract deal with Borussia Dortmund

Leverkusen defeated Mainz 05 from the 2.Bundesliga 4-1 after extra-time already on Tuesday. A

Werder Bremen struggled to a 2-1 victory over third-division side Erzgebirge Aue Tuesday in the
German Cup while Cologne and Eintracht Frankfurt lost to teams from lower leagues.
With the memory of Saturday's stunning 5-2 win at champions Bayern Munich still fresh in their
minds, Bremen went into their second- round clash full of confidence but found themselves a goal
down after just seven minutes when Fabian Mueller put the home side ahead with a shot from outside

Within the last half-hour Southend United have completed the signing of Francis Laurent. The
Frechman moves to Roots Hall on a one-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months.
The 22-year-old had a trial with Barnet in the middle of August but they refused the option of
signing him. The striker was part of
FC Mainz 05's team last season and played 6
times as a substitute.

Das geplante Testspiel am kommenden Freitag gegen den Zweitligisten 1. FSV Mainz 05 musste aufgrund
massiver Personalprobleme abgesagt werden. Das Tüpfelchen auf dem i war wohl der Kreuzbandriss bei
Torsten Frings. Soweit ist es also schon - das ein gestandener Bundesligaverein plötzlich nur noch
mit der zweiten und dritten Garde aufmarschieren kann.
