Former D.C. United striker Blake Brettschneider is the latest free agent hoping to earn a spot
on the New England Revolution for the 2012 season. Brettschneider is set to join the team on trial
next week the Revs confirmed to New England Soccer Today on Thursday afternoon.
Brettschneider, a 22-year-old who can also play in midfield, played in 15 league games,
including nine starts, for D.
Wesley Sneijder has been linked with Manchester United in the past few days, and not for the
first time. The Dutchman has continuously been linked with Manchester United for the best part of
two seasons but each time the move was apparently close to completion something cropped up an
prevented it from being finalized.
The off-season has been busy for the teams in Major League Soccer with players moving in and
players moving out. This is the first part of a three-part look at the league's transactions. Today
I'll be taking a look at the teams on the East Coast and how they stack up for the upcoming
season.
Besides a simple 'IN' and 'OUT' look for players, I'll be using the terms 'Minutes XI Returning'
and 'Minutes Gameday 18 Returning'.
Seven days ago, Inter were flying high off an extraordinary run of seven straight league wins,

What a cracking weekend in Italian Serie A where there were massive wins in the big games for AC
Milan away at AS Roma and Juventus winning away at Inter Milan. Siena hit four past Chievo and
Fiorentina managed to get a 1-0 win over Genoa in a must win match. Here are the top 5 goals of the

Five goalless draws and an average of just 1.4 goals per game made for Serie A's quietest round of
games yet but there were still a handful of notable performances. Entertaining ties (particularly

Inter Milan just cannot seem to catch a break.
Inter's early-season woes continued as Wesley Sneijder was ruled out of the club's upcoming
Champions League match with CSKA Moscow as he nurses a thigh problem. Sneijder's absence in
Tuesday's match is a big blow to Inter, which needs points after losing its Champions League
opener against Trabzonspor last week.
Last season, Milan was the center of the Italian soccer world, as the two city rivals battled at
the top of the table. This season, things will not change much as Internazionale and AC Milan will
lead the race for the scudetto. And just like last season, Inter will likely fall just short of the
trophy.
Daniel Robertson, of SB Nation's FC Dallas blog Big D Soccer, and I discussed tonight's
