U2 Is Destroying Football (Pitches)

The Offside 24 August @ 02:30 PM EST
That's right, the great champion of trendy product branding and impoverished people, Bono, is destroying football. Hard to believe, isn't it? We've heard a number of times about concerts doing damage to football pitches. For example, "Madonna" is now German for "neutral site". But normally we hear about the state of the grass or the inflamed [. Click to continue reading...

Raúl and Bojan: Two Men, One Problem

The Offside 21 August @ 12:36 PM EST
Raúl González and Bojan Krkić. Two players at different ends of their careers, but with a lot of similarities. They're both forwards. They both play for the club that thinks it's the biggest in La Liga. They're both famous enough to be known internationally by just their first name (see also: Madonna). Click to continue reading...

Madonna e o Hermitage

Ronaldo needs a wife

Dirty Tackle 19 August @ 02:32 AM EST

Sports business strategists are tapping Cristiano Ronaldo to take over David Beckham's mantle as the footballer to earn the most from endorsements as Beckham reaches as advanced age and Ronaldo begins his first season with Real Madrid after his world record transfer. The Ronaldo brand, however, is not without its faults.

There's a fascinating interview with David Beckham, wearing Ringo Star's suit from the Shea Stadium concert in 1965. Click to continue reading...

Adebayor 'needs time' - Sylvester swap - various news

Arseblog 16 July @ 01:51 AM EST

Good morning,

let's start with the most interesting and exciting news of the morning: my beard. It has become quite fullsome indeed and leaving aside the dusty bits it's coming on very nicely. It is, however, getting to that stage where it becomes itchier than Madonna's clunge so I have to fight my way through the desire to shave it all off again.

Click to continue reading...

Spurs 1-0 West Bromwich Albion: The Jenas Conundrum Continues

All Action, No Plot 02 May @ 03:03 PM EST

So one nil to the Tottenham, again. In the same way that a generation of kids will grow up knowing Gary Lineker only as the irritating orange bloke of MoTD, a generation may also grow up wondering why a Spurs blog is entitled "All Action, No Plot".

I jest. Four consecutive home one-nils may not exactly be all-action-no-plot stuff, but I am certainly not complaining.

It Was a Cold and Stormy Night …

JordanCornblog 12 April @ 08:14 AM EST

... but that didn't dampen the spirits of the nearly 5,000 Breakers fans who trooped to Cambridge to see their Boston Blues defeat the St. Louis Athletica 2-0 in their home opener at Harvard Stadium. Here are the Week 3 WPS Power Rankings by Jo-Ryan Salazar. (I'll track these through the season on my WPS page.

Ade Wonder-Goal Gives Gunners A Draw - Villareal 1 v 1 Arsenal

Part-time Pundit 08 April @ 08:45 AM EST

Ok, I don't know who this new "Adebayor" guy is or where the old one has gone (perhaps he was adopted by Madonna), but to tell you the truth, I don't really care. The new guy or ADEv2.0 as I like to call him seems like he's been tinkered with by a mix of voodoo witch doctors and kinetic scientists cause almost overnight his skills have been upgraded, he's sustained a delicate first touch and just for fun I think they've even added a deadly J. Kickin'em Old School! - Arsenal 2 v 0 Manchester City

Part-time Pundit 06 April @ 02:32 AM EST

Finally Adebayor has shaken off the injury shackles that have been holding him down and has started to show glimpses of his previous "brilliance". But let's not get too carried away cause it's only been one game and well Madonna's adoption bid was rejected recently, so she's still on the prowl for something that almost fits his description to a tee! Brief: Becks Immortalized In Lego

MLS Daily 19 September @ 10:17 PM EST
...and this version can't score via free-kick anymore either. Former England and current Los Angeles Galaxy captain David Beckham has been immortalized as a Lego figure in honor of the company's 30th anniversary of the minifigure.
Beckham and wife Victoria were just two of the celebrities who got the plastic makeover, joining several other people of whom England should be proud: Madonna, Amy Winehouse and Simon Cowell, among others. Click to continue reading...

Madonna ruins Bundesliga game

The Beautiful Game (2) 16 September @ 01:46 PM EST
A couple German teams were gonna play a game, but after the 50 year old's crazy fans trampled the grass during a concert, the pitch was deemed unplayable.
Nice.

Madonna versus Bundesliga

The Offside 15 September @ 11:58 AM EST
Eintracht Frankfurt were supposed to be play Karlsruhe on Friday night in the Bundelsiga. But that didn't happen, and it's all Madonna's fault. Actually it's Madonna's fans' fault. Madge performed at Frankfurt's Commerzbank-Arena on Tuesday night and apparently her fans trampled the grass, presumably dancing a little too enthusiastically to "Like a Virgin" et al.
