Pies pick of the stills from last night's FA Cup third round replay action...
ITV's punditry panel Matt Smith, Gordon Strachan and Ian Wright watch over QPR's game
against the MK Dons from deep within the bowels of their elevated glass fortress at a sparsely
populated Loftus Road
New QPR manager Mark Hughes gives the home crowd a wave before taking his place in the

Headlines in England following the draw for the fourth round of the FA Cup will be centered on
the Liverpool vs. Manchester United battle and a possible QPR vs. Chelsea meeting, as rematches of
racism-marred Premier League games take center stage. For American fans, though, there's a much
more tasty fixture to be found.

We're playing 'catch up' today after a bout of electro-gremlins rendered us down and out at the
weekend so, for the two of you that haven't seen it already and for the many that probably won't
mind seeing it again, here's Macclesfield Town midfielder Arnaud Mendy scoring the goal of his
career against Bolton on Saturday.
In a day of very few shocks, two Premier League sides Bolton and Wigan were surprised by lower
league opponents in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
Wigan's troubled season took another turn for the worse as they crashed out 2-1 too League Two
side Swindon Town. Calum McManaman had put Wigan 1-0 up but Swindon, managed by Italian Paolo Di
Canio, struck back to claim a famous win with goals coming from Alan Connell and Paul Benson.
The third round of the FA Cup is littered with the typical David vs. Goliath matchups that the
tournament boasts every year, but there is one matchup featuring a pair of giants that is sure to
capture everyone's attention.
Premier League front-runners Manchester City and Manchester United square off in an early-round
encounter that has plenty on the line.
Oh fuck me. The FA Cup is back.
Now, I'm not one of those EPL-centric, footballing-history-started-in-1992 type people. I just
hate the FA Cup. I hate how misused the FA Cup is in terms of broadcasting (both online and
televised).
Last March I wrote a post about how College Basketball's March Madness is presented in
America.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Macclesfield Town's emerging young talent
George Whiteoak, reports the Daily Mirror.
The 16 year-old centre-half is drawing attention from some of Britain's top clubs having impressed
for the League Two side at youth level and is now on the verge of making his senior debut.
The draw for this season's FA Cup 3rd round was made today with Manchester City drawn Manchester
United at hom in what is the draw of the round. There will be only one other all Premier League tie
with Newcastle at home to Blackburn, while non-league Tamworth got a dream tie with Everton at
Goodison Park.

The cup season is upon us once again as Bolton Wanderers open the Carling Cup against
Macclesfield Town at the Reebok. The Silkmen of League Two downed Hull City by a score of 2-0 to
reach the second round. Bolton will look to do better than they did last year when they were ousted
by Burnley in the third round.
Some silverware outside of a preseason trophy would be nice.
With the new season comes the first chance at silverware for Bolton Wanderers. The Carling Cup
campaign will start on August 22nd at the Reebok as the Trotters have been handed a tie with
Macclesfield Town FC. The Silkmen, who currently reside in League Two, defeated Hull City by a
scoreline of 2-0.
Admittedly I was a bit slow to publish this...so with the added benefit of one performance,
here's the League Two preview!
Who's Looking Good?
Crawley Town: Most bookies favourites, Crawley have the biggest budget in the
league, momentum to die for, and probably the deadliest striker in the division in Matt Tubbs.

Warning. This post contains references to malodorous marriage proposals, farcical fishing
frolics and an alarming amount of alliteration.
Major League Soccer held their 2011 SuperDraft today at the NSCAA Convention in
Baltimore, Maryland.
The expansion team Vancouver Whitecaps had the first choice overall and took 17-year-old forward
Omar Salgado which seemed to surprise everyone but the Whitecaps.

1981-2011 The sudden death of Macclesfield Town's Richard Butcher at the age of just 29 came as a
major shock to the footballing world yesterday. It will have hit those involved at the lower end of
the Football League the hardest. Richard was no stranger to League Two football, having played for
Lincoln City, Peterborough [.
