Mendy it like Beckham (or at least Henry) If Macclesfield player Arnaud Mendy had dreamt of scoring
against Bolton the night before their FA Cup third round tie on Saturday, he would have struggled
to do a better job than he did in the match itself. Thierry Henry's FA Cup comeback could be
tonight, but [.
There is an interesting rumour going around that Arsene Wenger is considering a move for the Welsh
U21 defender Elliot Hewitt, who despite only being 17 years of age has already appeared with the
older lads. Considering he has only made a few appearances for the League Two side Macclesfield
Town, he has already been [.

Take a tumble Enthusiastic Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio has said he will instruct his squad
to dive in future after seeing his side's appeals turned down at the weekend because the players
stayed on their feet. The Italian was furious after the Robins' 2-0 defeat at Macclesfield after
Matt Ritchie's penalty appeal was [.

Forget all that sophisticated passing the ball around nonsense, Ben Tomlinson and Macclesfield
cut to the chase from the kick off in their League Two clash with Morcambe this week.
Taking the direct route, Tomlinson netted an historic (fastest ever) goal for Macclesfield on
the way to a 1-1 draw with Morecambe, with the action taking just seven seconds from kick off to

A team not from England in the English Premier League? Whats that I hear you say?
For those readers from around the world who may not be versed in UK geography, there will be a
very special team playing in the English Premiership next season. A team that isn't actually from
England.
This may surprise a few people but Swansea City is a team from Wales, a country famed for a
sport where people throw around a ball shaped like an egg, famed for actors Catherine Zeta Jones
and Anthony Hopkins, Tom Jones, cockles and laverbread and now finally, a Premiership football
side.
Liverpool has confirmed that Kevin Keen has joined the club as first-team coach on a three-year
contract.
Keen will join up with his new colleagues for the first time on Monday when Liverpool's squad
report back to Melwood for the start of pre-season training.
The 44-year-old made over 600 appearances in spells with West Ham, Wolves, Stoke City, Macclesfield
and Wycombe.
We've made more than our share of jokes about the long, dull, dragging days of summer without
Liverpool football to distract us from cruel reality, but when you get right down to it there are
few sports that span the calendar quite like football. And so, three long, hard days (or
thereabouts) after Barcelona beat Manchester United in the Champions League final to close out
major European competition, the first wave of players begin to trickle into pre-season training
camps in England to kick off July.
So another season has come and gone. I don't know about you, but it seems to have absolutely
flown past. It wasn't that long ago that we were all looking forward to the Football League fixture
list being released and then getting underwhelmed when we learnt we would be facing Macclesfield at
home on the opening day.
Swindon Town's New (and Controversial) Boss
You couldn't ever accuse Swindon Town supporters of having little to talk about. The team has
pogoed around the divisions in the last twenty years (they were present in the second ever Premier
League season of 1993-4, and are at present the only former Premiership team to have been relegated
to the lowest league tier).
His early coaching success now a distant memory, Paul Ince found himself out of a job once again
this month after leaving relegation-threatened Notts County. With several of his former Manchester
United teammates having enjoyed relatively straightforward routes into top-level management, is it
circumstance or something else that's holding back Ince's managerial career?

And you thought the Celtic v Rangers brawl was bad? (VIDEO) is a post from: Just Football
Watching the reaction to Celtic's 1-0 win over Old Firm rivals
Rangers and the various flare-ups that occurred at regular intervals during the

The Evening Chronicle is reporting today that Spurs big striker Peter Crouch could be offered to

With a fortnight having passed since the keys turned in the lock of the transfer kitty vaults, I
thought I would attempt to identify which ten of the myriad deals done may benefit purchasers most
in the short term. The list below is a subjective one, peppered with both the obvious and the
unheralded, and no doubt destined to be debunked four months from now.
1981-2011 The sudden death of Macclesfield Town's Richard Butcher at the age of just 29 came as a
