In the run up to the Portland Timbers' appearance in the 2015 MLS Cup Final against the Columbus Crew, Adam Kwarasey has been recognized for his part in a pivotal moment of the season, being awarded the 2015 MLS Save of the Year for his efforts.
With the score tied at zero, Kwarasey found himself under pressure from the Real Salt Lake attack, making a series of saves to preserve the shutout before Nat Borchers grabbed the game winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
If you thought Silviu Petrescu and Allen Chapman were bad, just wait...
PRO Referees - the refereeing organization who assigns referees for MLS matches - has released its weekly refereeing assignments. Allen Chapman, who refereed the Philadelphia Union's match against Real Salt Lake and called Maurice Edu for a penalty for fouling Luke Mulholland - who even admitted the call was wrong and it wasn't a penalty - isn't suspended yet.
The Sons of Ben have voiced their displeasure with the recent officiating blunders that have affected the club.
The Philadelphia Union have been subject to several questionable calls by referees in their first two games of the 2015 MLS season. In week one against Colorado Rapids, there were the two potential penalty calls against Fernando Aristeguieta and Vincent Nogueira, the hand ball against Dillon Serna, and the red-card worthy play against Andrew Wenger.
It was never going to be easy for Real Salt Lake to return from the World Cup break without a batch of key starters. Kyle Beckerman and Nick Rimando are in Brazil as the U.S. advances to the knockout round. Tony Beltran is suspended. Ned Grabavoy is injured.
It only took sixteen seconds for Real Salt Lake midfielder Javier Morales to score his first goal on Sunday, and when the dust finally settled, he had secured a hat trick to make his goal-less drought a distant memory.
Morales' three goals, and a goal apiece from Luke Mulholland and Alvaro Saborio, helped RSL secure a 5-2 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Sunday.
Despite the early season struggles of the New York Red Bulls and the Portland Timbers, who last year led the league's Eastern and Western conferences, 2013 MLS Cup finalists Real Salt Lake keep chugging along.

In the New York Cosmos biggest test of the season, the squad showed plenty of heart, determination, and skill on the way to an impressive comeback victory.
Trailing 3-1 at halftime, the Cosmos scored three successive goals in the second half, the last a beautiful free kick by Marcos Senna, to defeat the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 4-3, on Sunday evening at James Shuart Stadium.
The Tampa Bay Rowdies took a 2-1 win against Ft. Lauderdale to open up the first-of-two Florida Derbies this season. The win, which not only secured Tampa a shared first-place spot in the NASL table, proved to be a pivotal bounce back after collapsing against Atlanta last week after leading 3-1 for much of the game.

NASL week 15 saw the Atlanta Silverbacks get their second win in a row, defeating the Puerto
