Wilshere are also recovering better than expected.

That being the fact that you're allowed to handle the ball inside the penalty area. Rather than
catch David Fuster's time effort for Olympiakos last night, Arsenal's sub keeper Mannone on in
place of the injured Lukasz Fabianski decided to attempt some sort of martial arts volleyed
clearance. That plan didn't really work.
Yossi opens his accounts for Arsenal
This was Arsenal's first defeat in this season's Champions League and it had we not qualified
prior, it would be shambolic rather than comical. Olympiacos must have thought we'd done them a
favour but they could rightly be disappointed to miss out on the next stage.

Sometimes, like against Manchester City in the Carling Cup, we see a performance from the second
string that lifts the spirits and gives us hope and encouragement for the future. And sometimes we
get performances like last night which reflect little more than why these players are part of the
second string.

Good morning. I woke up late and I have somewhere to be this morning. Funny how you never wake
up late when you have nowhere to be. And it's all my alarm's fault.
I don't know about you but I need to change the sound every so often, otherwise I just get used
to it and I'll sleep through it.
West Ham United have announced the emergency signing of Arsenal's back-up goalkeeper Manuel
Almunia as a replacement for first-choice stopper Robert Green, who will be sidelined for almost
six weeks due to a knee injury.
Almunia, who currently ranks third in the Gunners' pecking order behind the Polish duo of
Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski, will be on loan at Upton Park for a month and Hammers boss
Sam Allardyce has expressed his gratefulness to the North London outfit for approving the deal.
Arsenal stopper Lukasz Fabianski admits that it will be a tough road for him to reclaim his spot
as the club's first-choice goalkeeper and although he is happy to have overcome the injury that
forced him to the sidelines, it is clear that the scars continue to bother him.
Fabianski returned in the goal for the Gunners during Tuesday night's 3-1 Carling Cup win over
Shrewsbury Town for his first appearance since January, when shoulder problems ruled him out for
the remainder of last season.
Arsenal are aiming to rebound strongly from their most recent Barclays Premier League setback at
Blackburn by using a string of talented youngsters against Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup
tonight.
On a night where Leeds United will reignite a huge rivalry with reigning English champions
Manchester United, Shrewsbury's visit to the Emirates was originally nothing more than a mere
formality.
A bit of this will not hurt Arsenal
Five matches into the season and a perfect record. An outpouring of 21 goals with just four
conceded. And the latest, a win over arch rivals Chelsea by a 3-1 margin. Utd are already
separating themselves by their intimidating performances.
His side's effervescent start is still not enough to make Sir Alex happy.
I mean, come on, it's a valid explanation. Did he?
