I have to say if there is one game I cannot stand to lose in a season it's against Liverpool. It's
strange to say it as I am sure my answer would have been different 10 years ago but the recent
history between the two sides means that for me this game has taken on a whole new meaning!
I can't stand losing as it is and it's bad enough losing to United, Spurs or QPR but somehow the
Liverpool game has become the one game I cannot stomach losing to.
With almost a fourth of the La Liga season gone, Barcelona and Real Madrid are both off to solid
starts, but heading into this week's round of midweek fixtures, neither title favorite was at the
top of the table.
Of course, that likely won't be the case for long, and you'd have to expect those two to once
again occupy the top two spots come the end of the season, but to see unheralded Levante top the
table has to be the story of the first two months of the season.
A stunning late comeback from Malaga maintained their position at the top of the La Liga. The
Andalusian side were briefly knocked off the top by Valencia, but they defeated Getafe 3-2 to
reclaim pole position on Saturday.
Getafe led 2-1 in the 88th minute remaining courtesy of goals from Pedro Leon and substitute
Nicolas Fedor Miku, either side of Ruud van Nistelrooy's equaliser.
Liverpool FC has lost out on many great players over the years, but the most regrettable missed
opportunity is arguably Danish maestro Michael Laudrup. The club had two chances to sign this
footballing magician (1983 and 1989) but failed on both occasions. Why did the club miss out and
what impact would Laudrup (theoretically) have had?
Given the confidential nature of player contracts, real transfer fee levels are rarely released
into the public domain. This leads to guesswork and supposition on a grand scale, which leads to
lots of inaccurate figures floating around. Here are the some of the glaring inaccuracies currently
accepted as gospel.
For 7 days The Liver Bird is being hijacked by guest bloggers. I am delighted to be showing you
some fantastic pieces from Liverpool fans who you can also follow on Twitter. First up this week
with an article on the "Boo Boys" is Ian, you can find Ian on Twitter as @Ian_LFC and you can also

One of great goals that I love in football is the goals that are smart and the player uses his head
more than his feet. Last week Badr Al-Motawao, Kuwaiti player who plays for Al-Nasr from Saudi
Arabia scored one of those goals against Istiqlal from Iran.
Recently, I was watching YouTube videos when I came across this wonderful goal for Zuhair Bakheet
from UAE, he was one of the players that had amazing 'sensitive' skills, and was kind of the Luis
Garcia for the region.

I can haz pizza?
According to today's Daily Mirror, Arsenal youngster Wellington Silva has been given a 'major
dressing-down' after admitting to eating nothing but pizza and spending his evenings Tweeting away
until the early hours of the morning.
BARCELONA, Spain — Real Madrid provisionally moved to within two points of league leader
Barcelona by beating Levante 2-0 on Saturday. Karim Benzema scored Madrid's sixth-minute opener
after a great individual effort from Angel Di Maria, and Ricardo Carvalho sealed the win four
minutes before halftime.
