The first fruits of Ben Olsen's South American trip may have just arrived, as multiple reports out of Brazil quote EC Bahia's coach Paulo Angioni as saying that 20 year old striker Rafael Souza will go on a season long loan to D.C. United. Rafael has played in 46 games for EC Bahia, who finished 14th in the Brazilian Serie A last season, and he has scored 10 goals.
When I first saw this rumor floated, I considered it a ridiculous piece of fun, something about which D.C. United fans could dream with the new money that is in the club without any chance of it ever happening. And after reading all of these stories, they seem to reference each other as sources and trade in vagaries.
While it seems ridiculous, rumors continue to swirl about D.C. United's interest in Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano.
Reports out of Brazil, first tweeted by Phil Schoen, are that MLS is negotiating with Sao Paolo over the acquisition of forward Luis Fabiano. While currently at Sao Paolo, he also played in 149 matches for Sevilla of La Liga, scoring 72 goals; he also has earned 44 caps for the Brazilian National Team, with 28 goals.

Perhaps Luis Fabiano is a not quite Darius Vassell. Perhaps Brazil is a tiny bit football mad.
Perhaps Sao Paulo has reason to celebrate.
But "tens of thousands"? For Luis Fabiano? A very, very good player, but he's not quite the
creme de la creme of the footballing crop. Not Ronaldinho, not Ronaldo, not really.
On Friday night it was revealed that Luis Fabiano has returned to Brazil with Sao Paulo, on a
four year deal, for a fee of 7.6 million euros. This seems like a bargain for a player with such
class.
It only makes you wonder why Tottenham did not take a gamble on this player in January?
El Sevilla ha confirmado esta noche el traspaso del delantero brasileño Luis Fabiano, que
deja la entidad nervionense por unos ocho millones de euros y tras casi seis temporadas, para jugar

MADRID, Spain — Sevilla were held to a 0-0 draw in the Andalusian derby with bottom side Malaga

With the league title slipping away from Real Madrid's hands, their two cup competitions, the
UEFA Champions League and the Copa del Rey, could be the tournaments that they can realistically
expect to win. Â Real can stamp its name in the final of the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night if
they can navigate a more than tricky second leg tie against the current holders of the cup,
Sevilla.

Racing Santander on a night when LuÃs Fabiano starred for Sevilla at home to Levante.
Barca's 28-match unbeaten run in all competitions came to end when they lost the second leg of
their Copa del Rey quarter-final to Real Betis in midweek, were ahead inside 90 seconds through
Pedro's sixth goal of 2011.

last year's World Cup.

coach with little doubt the next three and a half weeks will be taken seriously.

La Liga Lowdown, Jornada 20: Málaga – new manager, new players, same old problems is a post
from: Just Football
Until recently, no one really paid too much attention to south coast side
Málaga. They're your typical ‘yo-yo' club, bouncing between the top two tiers
of Spanish football, the Primera and Segunda División.
El Clásico is coming to the Copa del Rey as Barcelona will meet Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey

Surely Septic Blatter will come to their senses and bring video technology into

Real Madrid and Barcelona are on a collision course in the Copa del Rey as they both won the
first leg of their semifinals tonight. Real Madrid beat holders Sevilla 1-0 while Barcelona rolled
over Almeria 5-0.
The hero once for Madrid again was Karim Benzema, who answered his critics with a valuable away
goal in the 17th minute.
In a Copa del Rey match marred by Iker Casillas being hit with a projectile from the stands and
a controversial no-goal call on a shot by Luis Fabiano, Karim Benzema delivered an excellent
individual effort to give Real Madrid a 1-0 lead over Sevilla heading into the second leg of their

It didn't take long for Tigre's Copa Sudamericana match against Sao Paulo to degenerate into nonsense. Just 13 minutes into the match, there was already one sloppy collision too many, prompting a standoff. jamás se concretó (afortunadamente)
Ya se colocan diferentes nombres en Tigres como "El Japo" RodrÃguez, Emmanuel Villa, Giovanni
Moreno e incluso Luis Fabiano.
