1. A Change Of TackI don't know about you, but personally I think this blog has become just a little too considered in
recent weeks at the expense of our bread and butter.
Perilous flirtation with the threat of legal action has been discarded in favour of sound
reasoning, and that has to change.

I have to say I wasn't that sure why so many raved about the talent that the former Wigan man
had but then I saw him first hand playing for the Latics against us last season and he was immense,
he stood out as a player with real ability.

COS's Old Trafford correspondent considers the David Silva conundrum.
Is a move for David Silva imminent? That is the question being asked by supporters of
both Liverpool and Manchester United on this website. The rumour mill seems to have been working
overtime on this one and we have even seen comments posted on the site claiming that a deal has
already been done with the Valencia player: with fans of both North West clubs believing he is as
good as theirs.

Somewhat unbelievably, the most cantankerous old man in football, Sir Alex Ferguson, has already
dismissed Liverpool's hopes of winning the Premier League. Yet if the Overlord of English football
feels it necessary to lay into Rafa Benitez's side without a ball of the new season being kicked,
it surely only means one thing: Liverpool are a major threat to Manchester United's hegemony.

Luis Antonio Valencia has attempted to play down any comparisons that may be drawn between him and
Cristiano Ronaldo. Considering the productivity of former Manchester United forward Ronaldo in
front of goal, any player purchased with the finances received from the Portuguese international's
transfer to Real Madrid will likely be viewed in an analogous manner.

Possible Incoming PlayersOk so its not set in stone, but according to all reports Luis Antonio Valencia is going to be a
Manchester United player, perhaps even as soon as the end of this week. The fee is rumoured to be
anywhere between £14 million and £19 million, me personally i'd expect it to be around the 16-17
mark but I (unfortunately) don't control Uniteds books!

A strange lull has fallen over the Premier League at the moment. Almost eerie. I can feel it,
and I know a lot of my fellow Liverpudlians can too. Blame Real Madrid I suppose. And Carlos
Tévez. If it wasn't for that amalgamation of characters, chancers and crackpots, we wouldn't have
this feeling.

Who will be in at Old Trafford this summer?
With the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo adding £80 million to Sir Alex Ferguson's usual £25-30 million
yearly budget. A summer spending spree is surely on the cards. Looking at the side, it would appear
to me a winger and some quality in centre midfield are needed, with possibly, a striker as the
icing on the cake.

This will be an interesting game for United. There are rumors all over the Internet that after
Ronaldo's antics on Sunday that he and Fergie had a huge bust up afterward. I have even read a
rumor that Fergie has agreed to sell Ronaldo to Mardrid for 72 Million pounds!!!!! If that happens
then United can do what the fans want and resign Tevez for 26 Million and take the rest and go get
Frank Ribery(seen on right) who right now could turn into just as good a player without being a
bitch of a teammate.
