The Class 1 Final 4 will open on Friday morning with an 11:00 am match between St Vincent and
Orchard Farm. The Springfield Catholic girls will take the field to defend their State Title at
1:00 pm on Friday, opening with a semifinal against Kansas City-based Pembroke Hill. I'm picking St
Vincent to advance to their second Final in three years where they will fall to Catholic for the
second year in a row.
A U18 Girls Final will be played today at noon on Cooper 1 but we are primarily looking at
Semifinal matches and some Quarterfinals.
U13 Boys
SPRINGFIELD S.C. 98/99 I wins 3-0 over KOLPING KICKS SC PREUSSER (STL). They
advance to a Final on Wednesday at 9am against SLSG Elite.

The local boys got a late game-winner by Jacob Moore as he rounded his defender on the right side
of the box, skipped past a second challenge and slid his shot to the near post as the keeper came
out.
The 96/97 I boys have become the 4th SSC team to gain promotion into the Midwest Regional League
(MRL) Premier Division. SSC has garnered Elite status within the 13 state Region with 3 teams in
the Premier division next year with the 95/96 girls and 94/95 I boys. Congratulations to the the
entire club for the reward and recognition!
UPDATED The Disney Soccer Showcase kicks off today and there are two Missouri-based squads
participating, both in the Under 17 age group. Disney is considered one of the top tournaments in
the country and will have over 350 college coaches on hand to evaluate the talent.
Springfield SC 94/95 are participating in the Showcase Red group.

The Springfield SC 94/95 Boys will play against the Cincinnati Crew Jr's at 10am today in the U16
Boys semifinals.
There are several other teams from Missouri who have reached the semifinals as well including
the U13 Boys Sporting KC Jr's, U18 Girls Scott Gallagher (Cline & Hatz), U16 Girls JB Marine Wipke,
U18 Girls KCFC Intensity (Groom, Clark and other Liberty Jay's), U15 Girls KCFC Futura Academy and
in the U17 Boys, Scott Gallagher will face Lou Fusz Popovic ensuring one Missouri team will reach
the Finals.

SSC faces the #8 ranked team in the State but also a team that lost to Lou Fusz Kargacin in group
play, the same team SSC defeated 2-0 on Wednesday.

A pair of finals in U17 Girls and U19 Boys that each feature individual Springfield players
(Molly Brewer and Skyler Russell) while Springfield SC has four teams (14, 15, 17, 18) in the
Quarterfinals and one in a semifinal (16).

Missouri Elite FC - U14 Girls at Missouri State Cup 2010
I was hoping for more detail but it's time to get this posted the only Girls team to represent
Southwest Missouri last Summer at the Missouri State Cup were the Missouri Elite FC U14 girls team,
pictured above.
We went 1-2 but all games were close.

U13B: Springfield SC opened their tournament with a 2-0 win over Lou Fusz SC King. Their afternoon
match against the Columbia Pride Fusion ended 1-2 for the Pride, putting the boys at 1-2 in group
play and ending their tournament.
U14B: Springfield SC lost their final game 1-2 to SLSG Premier and finish 1-0-2 for 3 points and
3rd place in their group.

U15 Boys : Springfield SC wins 8-0 over Futura Juventus.
U16 Boys: Springfield SC lost to Lou Fusz Gold by a 2-0 score while the Columbia Pride tied
United SC 1-1. That probably means SSC will need wins against the Pride and United in order to
advance, if Lou Fusz doesn't win again.
The 2010 Missouri State Cup opens this morning and runs June 10-20, 2010 at Legacy Park in Lee's
Summit, MO. The Missouri State Cup is the first leg of the US Youth National Championship Series.
U13-U19 Boys and Girls teams will be able to participate in the tournament. Boys will play from
June 10-15 and Girls will play from June 15-20.

In the final weekend of play for the MRL First Division, the local boys fell to the KC squad that
is currently in the middle of the table with them. After a scoreless first half, the Blaze got a
pair of goals in 10 minutes early in the second half from Conner Parrish (St Pius X) to gain the
lead on the hosts.
