I've got to admit, feeling like a loser has become a part of my identity, low self-confidence
hard-wired into my DNA by virtue of too many years of hardship. On Saturday morning, as Arsenal
destroyed Blackburn 7-1, I got to feel like a winner again. And it felt good. Really good.
In terms of pure bliss, I don't know that I've sincerely enjoyed any weekend of sports more than
the past one.
Before coming into the league, Dwight Howard built himself up as a very religious man who wanted
to make a mark on the league by being a great human. As it turns out, Dwight Howard is a loser.
Even though the Orlando Magic have helped him make it to the NBA Finals, Howard isn't happy in
Florida and has instead demanded a trade.
The President of Rwanda wants his buddy Arsene to step down? Robin van Persie is furious with
Arsene...Or is he? And, does Real Madrid really want Arsene?
It's been quite an interesting week for the Arsenal so far. If you haven't been following the
news as much as I have, allow me to illuminate you.
The U.S. Women's national team figured to face a tougher task against Guatemala on Sunday than
it did after a 14-0 thrashing of the Dominican Republic to open CONCACAF Olympic qualifying on
Friday.
The challenge was slightly tougher, but only by a goal.
Abby Wambach scored two goals to move into third place on the all-time international goals
scored list, while Sydney LeRoux added five goals in a 13-0 thrashing of Guatemala in Vancouver on
Sunday.
"If you prick us do we not bleed? If you tickle us do we not laugh? If you poison us do we not
die? And if you wrong us shall we not revenge?" William Shakespeare.
Forget what you think you know about revenge. Sometimes, it's all you've got left. And considering
the sorry state in which Arsenal currently finds itself, I would maintain that revenge may just
prove to be the last, best option.
I'm not gonna lie, my motivation is that I have spent much of the day watching the last day of
the professional tackle-football season and watching playoff scenarios and seedings fall into
place. It all gets me thinking about how the MLS is going to work going forward.
Yeah, okay, that's a reach, but bear with me.
Blackburn v Bolton preview: Special focus on the Prem's crucial basement
battle
The loser of Tuesday's relegation six-pointer will be bottom at Christmas and we all know what
that means!

I'm actually going to two regional tournaments (officially playoffs) this year; I did last year but
didn't write anything because it would have entailed "I kept track of score" and "I wrote down
penalties on a small whiteboard" and repeated several times. Chances are I'll be skipping writing
about the upcoming playoff/regional because I'm an alternate, and as such won't be doing a lot,
except watching a buttload of games during the weekend.
It was 1-1, in the final ten minutes of the match, and Didier Drogba was clearly fouled in the
Bayer Leverkusen penalty area. Chelsea ought to have been awarded a penalty. Chelsea should have
won 2-1 in Germany. The obvious penalty was not awarded, Chelsea proceeded to concede a late goal.
Chelsea lost.
Where to begin?
There are times when perhaps we should just hold our hands up and say well done to both teams,
neither deserve to lose. Go on, share the bloody thing. Won't happen though. We demand winners and
where there is a winner there must be a loser. The crying shame of sport.
On 18' with Indonesia leading 1-0 through Dwi Cahyo Gunawan I turned to the wife and said Malaysia
would win.

Why Torres is the real loser in football's game of truth and dare
In the real world, unemployment is beginning to bite. Winter fuel bills are a looming nightmare.
A visit to the supermarket puts life's luxuries like a ticket for a football match beyond reach.
You don't need an economics degree to understand why Chelsea supporters are planning to boycott
the Champions League tie against Genk.
Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images(Bleacher Report)It is a hard thing to quantify, what makes one a loser
that is. There is no real grounds for the label of a loser other than what your personal beliefs
hold you to take as such.
In making the decisions for the inclusions in lists such as this some cases completely solve
themselves for you.

Yesterday Chivas USA was all set to get midfielder Freddy Adu as their first Designated Player
but today their upper management had second thoughts about the deal and went against it. So in came
the Philadelphia Union who have now signed Adu.
Fox Soccer was the first to report this deal.
One of the criticisms you hear about soccer from Americans who don't know/understand/like the
sport is that there are too many draws. I've always liked that draws are possible in soccer and
find the need of some American sports fans to have a clear cut winner and loser frankly
incomprehensible. For myself, I know I've probably had more draws than wins or losses in the game
of life so why should the sport I love most be any different?

Uruguay''s strong run of form continued in the Copa America semifinals, and Peru was Los
Charruas' latest victim.
Uruguay stayed unbeaten at the Copa America and reached the tournament final on Tuesday night,
beating Peru 2-0 on a pair of goals from Luis Suarez scored five minutes apart.

didn't just head out to the absinthe parlor after the US game to celebrate, because Japan put on a
special clinic in the second game. Either Sweden didn't see so much as a frame of the Japan-Germany
game film, or Japan is so skillful they can completely neutralize teams that are bigger and
stronger.

Winner of Match No.
In perhaps the most entertaining of the first six matches of the Women's World Cup, the USA picked
up a huge win over North Korea today by a 2-0 score as Women's World Cup debutantes Lauren Cheney
and Rachel Buehler scored in the second half. Amazingly, and due to the increased competitiveness
of the women's game, the USA's win was the first by multiple goals thus far.
Wednesday saw two key clashes in the relegation struggle in Argentina's Primera División. First,
in La Bombonera, Huracán and Gimnasia La Plata faced off in a one-match, winner-takes-all (or
rather, loser-gets-nothing) tie-breaker to decide who was relegated and who gets ... Continue

After the U.S. lost 2-1 to Uzbekistan this evening and Czech Republic topped New Zealand, all
four teams in Group D of the FIFA U-17 World Cup are tied on three points. The U.S. and New Zealand
are deadlock in all tiebreakers for the first-place in the group. Basically, everyone has a chance
to finish either in first place or fourth place.

It was Timmy Terrific...uh-gain...against Canada
United States vs. Panama, getting under way shortly here.
It's Round II of the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament. The winner here advances outright; the loser
heads into Game 3 needing some points.
Panama is all about forward play, so eyes on Tim Ream and Clarence Goodson–both likely
starters–as they will be tested by Blas Perez and Luis Tejada at least a few times in this
one.
The most loveable man in racing circle's Henry Cecil is to be Knighted as part
of the Queen's celebratory birthday honours.
Cecil who has trained 25 Classic winners to-date including this years 2,000
Guineas winner Frankel, is just as comfortable talking to the Queen herself as he is talking to
racegoers and was humbled when told of his imminent honour.
Genoa owner Enrico Preziosi is a sometimes abrasive character who has frequently fallen foul of
football's authorities and his own fans. You wouldn't trust him to be gracious to losers, but he
was - and it was not just any loser. It was Sampdoria, Genoa's local rivals and the subject of much
scorn, grief and disbelief across the nation after their unexpected plunge to Serie B just 12
months after qualifying for the Champions League preliminary round.
This isn't going to be a normal preview, but then again it's not a normal game. Stevenage travel
up to the North West and Old Trafford with League 1 football firmly in their sights. Torquay are
the only team that stands between us visiting Bramhall Lane rather than Underhill. The loser will
have to make a visit to Accrington again, while the winner gets to take in Preston and Milton
Keynes.

Some (mostly men) will argue that there is no loser in this style off. And they may be
right.
On the left is Sylvie van der Vaart, our queen of everything. Mrs. Rafa VDV chose to slip her
svelte self into a Hervé Léger by Max Azria Resort 2010 dress while fulfilling her hosting duties
on Germany's Let's Dance last week.
FC Barcelona vs Real Madrid encounters usually in a literal sense is described as a Sporting war
between two of the most famous clubs, but this time around it is definitely a War(not only in
literal sense). The relationship between the two clubs are at the edge of no return, and it won't
take a genius to predict taht by the time this match is over - it would have already moved into a
point of no return.

Enough already with "You Suck, Asshole" – I really don't care that much either way. The only
thing that really bothers me is the lack of a game this weekend. I'm not offended by the chant as I
barely consider "asshole" an expletive. I was surprised to learn that people were actually really
bothered by it.

Some sleepy U.S. players await the arrival of the team gear upon arrival in Lisbon
Can you believe that the USA's flight from Newark, N.J. to Lisbon, Portugal took just six hours and
four minutes? Now that's some serious tailwind. It's taken us longer to get from New York to
California.
Listen Lee, thankfully next week we'll get actual referees
Before we move on to the things I want to touch on today, I promise this will be the last I
touch on the Newcastle game. Read this. Finally someone who recognizes what most non-Arsenal fans
are not able to see. It is not about whingeing or being a sorry loser (don't think "drawer" can be
use in this context) but more about looking at events in perspective.
The Chicago Riot entered Sunday's match with their backs to the wall. After a tough loss to the
Baltimore Blast on the marvelously executed Chicago Soccer Heritage Night (video and picture
evidence here), the Missouri Comets rolled into the Villa Park Odeum Center clinging to a half game
lead over the Riot for 4th place.
