Even though they're one of the biggest teams in the world when it comes to money, Arsenal manager
Arsene Wenger told a Belgian publication that he can only splash out on new players once the team
has made a profit of £20 million. This apparently means he's admitting there's a restriction on
his spending at the London club and he's worried the team will suffer because of it.

Thierry Henry's return to Arsenal may last just a little longer than expected, according to
manager Arsene Wenger.
The French striker has enjoyed his brief loan spell at Arsenal, netting a goal in the club's
7-1 win over the weekend.
The John Terry controversies a complete list - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
John Terry on his day is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, and certainly
an important player for Chelsea and England.
However, the 31-year-old is in danger of missing out on Euro 2012, after being stripped of his
nation's captaincy due to the ongoing allegations of racism against the Barking-born man.
February kicks off for Liverpool on Monday, with Spurs set to visit Anfield in the first match
of another important month. Liverpool will look to carry their momentum from the domestic cup
triumphs and a comfortable 3-0 win at Wolves into the match, which hopefully signals a turnaround
from a disappointing league stretch to open 2012 that had seen them winless until the final day of
January.

Don't feel bad that you missed all the transfer news because you're such important people. We
too were engaged in frantic busy work (sleeping, shopping, drinking or a horrifying and painful
combination of all three) when the window slammed shut at 23.
Our latest guest post sees us welcome Tom Victor. Tom is the Major League Soccer Correspondent for
Footy Matters and you can read a selection of his missives here. He's also a proud Hammer and here
brings his attention to the extraordinary development of family tradition at that storied east
London club.
Chelsea have completed the signing of 20 year old Kevin De Bruyne from Belgian side FC Genk. A 5
year, £6.7 million deal has been agreed by both parties after which Bruyne will be loaned back to
Genk for the rest of the season.
De Bruyne who underwent a medical yesterday at Chelsea's training grounds becomes Chelsea's
second signing in this transfer window after Gary Cahill completed his move from Bolton earlier
this month.

Nature abhors a vacuum, Kickettes. It isn't something we made up as a convenient opening remark
for a transfer update post, it's the truth.
Don't believe us? Last week, we told you that Ludovic Obraniak had left Lille for Bordeaux,
leaving a massive gap in their pretty player quotient.
Queens Park Rangers were heading only one way under the stewardship of Neil Warnock. The team
had not won in several matches and were perilously close to the relegation places. In fact the only
reason the team were not already in the relegation places was because the team had somehow, against
all the odds, and not without immense fortune, managed to achieve victories earlier in the season
despite not playing well, for example when they defeated Chelsea at Loftus Road.
Just as it was expected, Gary Cahill, finally arrived at Chelsea after the London club cashed
out an amount around 7 million pound to Bolton Wanderers, so the England international can team up
with John Terry at the back.
Revealing his joy after signing for the Blues, Cahill admitted that accepting Andre Villas-Boas'
team's offer is something that he must passed on especially since the player is eying to improve
his quality.

winning a fifth consecutive title.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is hopeful his team can prevent neighbours
Manchester City from becoming the dominant force in English football, in much the same way he did
with Jose Mourinho's Chelsea team.
The London club won two titles under Mourinho after spending big on players, but Sir Alex
rebuilt his squad and wwnt on to win the Premier League in 4 of the next 5 years.
Why, top of the morning to you, and you, and you with the crooked nose as well. May a squadron
of Twix bars find their way into your mouth by day's end, and may time go by as smoothly as
Thierry's first touch. The day has gone by that smoothly in fact; exploding capacitors and
leaking transformers having taken up so much of my time that this review is sinfully late (A word
of caution- never put the positive pin of the capacitor into the negative pin of the battery,
unless you want the electronic equivalent of the Vietnam War in your face)
The FA Cup game against Leeds can broadly be divided into two storylines playing out in
parallel- a feel-good fairytale with returning Kings, and a tragicomedy about knights whose swords
have been replaced by rubber ducks.

Jordan Rhodes has certainly got the Premier League's attention. As many as eight top flight
clubs were represented at Huddersfield Town's game against Wycombe Wanderers last week. And they
are likely to have been impressed – the striker bagged five goals in a remarkable display.

challenge for a top 4 finish.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has announced that former Gunners legend Thierry Henry has
re-joined the club on a two month loan deal from MLS side New York Red Bulls.
It comes as no surprise in football circles that the Frenchman has returned to his spiritual
home, having been training with the London club during the MLS off-season, but will this move make
or break the Gunners stuttering season?

than their Championship counterpart and League Cup semi-final opposition Cardiff City.
In the Championship Cardiff are in 5th position with 38 points, whereas Palace currently reside in
8th position with 33 points.
FC Porto forward Hulk has once again been linked with a move to London club Chelsea. However
with Kaka and Krasic in the market, his chances of joining the Blues are getting slimmer and
slimmer everyday.
Villas-Boas who knows Hulk from his days as Coach of Porto is known to be a great admirer of the
Brazilian forward, however, with a buyout clause of $130 million dollars, and Chelsea's growing
debt, Hulk is out of reach for even Abramovich's billions.
Arsenal's ambition to improve position in the league was halted again as the Gunners only picked
up one point from their home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.

whistle.

1 Hard Times on the Thames
Manchester United is a very good club. This season, they've tossed aside inferior opponents with
a startling ease. Despite that, there's no reason Fulham should've lost to them 5-nil at home
yesterday. The South London club looked completely unprepared to deal with the likes of Danny
Welbeck, Nani and Wayne Rooney.
Alan Pardew has been singing the praises of his new number 19, Demba Ba. Demba Ba 11 goals in

In a pulsating affair at The Etihad Stadium today, Man City overpowered Arsenal and registered a
1-0 win to go back to the top of the English Premier League. A resurgent Arsenal side that had
forced their way back to the top 10 of the division following a horrific start to the season, were
simply not good enough to slow down a City side that was coming off a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea last
Monday night.
News today in the Evening Chronicle that Chelsea are indeed putting together an offer to try to
tempt Newcastle to part with their star defensive midfielder Cheick Tiote. The London club came in

could be that they will have [.
West Ham are the latest club to be linked with a move for Crystal Palace's in-demand forward

Disappointing midweek arrived for English teams in their Europa League campaign, Fulham have to
forget their European ambition as they're journey ended on Wednesday after only picking up a point
against Odense BK.

passage into the next round although that loss relegated the Potters into runners up position
behind Besiktas.
Tomorrow we will know the future of Chelsea FC in the UEFA Champions League and , probably,
the future of Portuguese manager Andres Villas Boas in the bench of the sout-west London club. The
"Blues" has the chance to qualify to the knock out of the most important tournament for European
clubs, as they will play at Stamford Bridge in front of their supporters, but an easy qualification
is not to be taken for granted.

Pressure mounting on Villas-Boas at Chelsea - SI.com.
When Chelsea selected ex-Porto manager Andre Villas-Boas to be their new leader last summer,
many fans were scratching their heads to figure out who he was, and why he was chosen, but people
in the game however, had no reservations about his ability to lead the London club back to it's
trophy winning ways, as he had led Porto to a treble winning season in 2011 with Portuguese
League, Cup and Europa League triumphs.
