En 1954 el ucraniano Eduard Dubinski (Едуард Дубинський en ucraniano o אדוארד דבּ סקי, tal su nombre judío) arrancó su carrera como primer defensor central en el Lokomotiv Kharkiv, el equipo de su ciudad natal. Al año siguiente pasó al ODO Kiev, en 1956 al ODO Sverdlovsk hasta que en el '57 se incorporó al CSKA Moscú, en la capital soviética.

It was a black day for the sport of Ice Hockey today after a Russian passenger plane carrying the Lokomotiv Ice hockey team to their season opener crashed on take-off.

43 people were killed while the two survivors are in grave danger, among the dead were Legendary Slovak forward Pavol Demitra, Czech World Champions Jan Marek, Karl Rachunek and Josef Vajicek.

It's not often that we'll talk about a tragedy in another sport, but this is just sad. Yahoo Sports is reporting that en route to a Kontinental Hockey League match, all but one of the 1st team of Russian club Lokomotiv were killed in a horrific plane crash. The surviving member, Alexander Gamilov, is currently in intensive care with burns covering 80% of his body.
