There was a lack of real excitement during the final day of the 2012 January Transfer Window,
with none of the Premier League's big names on the move and a subsequent drop in spending from the
same day 12 months ago means the latest transfer window closed without much of a noise.
The speculation that ran wild from Sky Sports News reporters situated at Premier League grounds
became boring with attention being finally turned to actual fixtures that took place on the
night.
Newcastle will try to do a loan deal if they cannot tie up Watford's Adrian Mariappa before
Tuesday's transfer deadline. Adrian Mariappa unlikely to be joining Newcastle Newcastle have not
been too lucky with loan deals over the last few years, and two that immediately come to mind are
Uruguayan Ignacio Gonzalez and Stephen Ireland, both [.

Tim Ream was married all of 24 hours and on the brink of going on his honeymoon before he got a
phone call that would alter his plans.
Getting ready to head to Tahiti with his wife, Ream received a call on Jan.
Arsene Wenger has made it clear that he is strongly opposed to loan deals such as Emmanuel
Adebayor's spell with Tottenham Hotspur.
Adebayor has been in fine form this season, scoring nine goals in 19 games for the Spurs after
parent club Manchester City chose to loan him out at the beginning of the season.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has been found guilty of gross misconduct and fined six
weeks' wages after flying home to Argentina without permission, a club source told Reuters. Tevez
has been in Argentina since November as his agents try and negotiate a move to AC Milan.
City have obviously had enough of Tevez's antics and told Reuters:
"In response to speculation, the club confirms that Carlos Tevez was found guilty by a
disciplinary hearing on 21 December of gross misconduct for serious breaches of contract and was
fined six weeks' wages," the source said.

Fox Sports has kicked off the Timbers' draft day with a bang, reporting that the Portland
Timbers have traded star striker Kenny Cooper to the New York Red Bulls for a reportedly large
amount of allocation money and a 2013 first round draft pick.
Timbers fans have had mixed feelings about the former US International, as he played below
expectations for much of the season, especially in terms of the number of goals he scored in a
Timbers kit, when compared to his performance with FC Dallas.
It's official, Robbie Keane is headed to Aston Villa.
The Premier League side confirmed the long-running rumor that the LA Galaxy striker will join
Villa for two months during the MLS off-season. The 31-year-old captain of the Irish national team
is hoping to stay fit ahead of this summer's European Championships and is the latest in a number
of short-term loan deals from MLS clubs to the Premier League.
I caught up with a buddy yesterday. Good dude. Hadn't seen him in a while. So we hit a local pub
and swapped talk over a couple of pints, abetted by "Jules," a wickedly effective siren at the art
of suggestive selling.
We started a little early. And when you do that, there might just be trouble ahead.
Manchester United striker Federico Macheda has officially joined QPR on-loan for the rest of the
season with Sir Alex Ferguson hoping his stint in London will have the same desired effect that
Danny Wellbeck's and Tom Cleverley's had when they were farmed out last season to Sunderland and
Wigan respectively.
It is being reported that Premiership side Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on taking Arsenal
youngsters Emmanuel Frimpong and Francis Coquelin to the Molineux on loan deals until the end of
the season. Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has confirmed his interest in both players. "We played
Arsenal in the reserves and I watched them the other [.
Sending young players out on loan to build experience is standard practice at top Premier League
clubs, and Liverpool is no exception. However, Reserve team coach Rodolfo Borrell is worried that
some loan moves can be counter-productive, and he argues that this has been the case for promising
young striker Nathan Eccleston.
I haven't had a chance to ask David Beckham of late about his future plans now that he's finally an
MLS champion, but my guess is that he's leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy.
I do think winning that title last night meant a lot to him. He's a competitive player. He wanted
to win very badly.
Yet there's something beyond club glory that has always mattered more to Becks.

On what one must consider the plus side, we're a sixth of the way through.
Delighted that this topic has been suggested by one of Twitter's good guys @zerozero31
Seb's suggestion was: Willie McKay is onto a good thing. SPL clubs should be used as short-stay
shop-windows for talented players.
There has been much talk recently about the futures of Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, both of
whom will see their contracts expire in the summer. Former Chelsea and AC Milan manager Carlo
Ancelotti, for one, has talked up both players as potential targets for Milan, saying he could see
them "fitting in very well" at the Italian club.
Jack Wilshere's successful loan spell at Bolton proved the final piece of his development. More

Even before the quarterfinal draw for the Carling Cup paired Arsenal with Manchester City
(a.k.a., the Death Squad), many speculated that the reserve teamers logging time on the big stage
would soon cede their places to first team players in a push for the silverware.
Manchester City's controversial striker Carlos Tevez has emerged as a shock target for Liverpool
who are hoping to land the player on a short term loan deal.
Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish has seen his side criticised in recent weeks for failing to find the
target despite carving out numerous opportunities.
Denied the opportunity to gain revenge on West Ham for a couple of poor results last season, a
Spurs XI hosted a side from our championship near-neighbours at Chadwell Heath yesterday and ran
out comfortable winners by five goals to two.
With the need for a Europa League understudy squad, there are fewer loan deals at the Lane for
some of our younger players, so it was a chance for many to get some much needed action.
Boca Juniors are hoping they can agree a deal to sign Manchester City's outcast striker Carlos
Tevez, according to reports. The Argentine forward was suspended by the club earlier this month,
following his refusal to come on as a substitute in City's Champions' League defeat to Bayern
Munich. After that incident, Roberto Mancini has made it clear that Tevez will never play for the
club again.
Wilson to Fight for Club & Country
Liverpool's Danny Wilson has admitted his disappointment at falling out of favour in the
Scotland senior squad, but insists the rejection will motivate himself to do better for club and
country. Wilson is not currently a part of Kenny Dalglish's plans at Liverpool, which has led to
his exclusion from Scotland's upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Spain.
Liverpool youngster Danny Wilson insists being dropped from Scotland's senior squad has only
fuelled his desire to re-establish himself for both club and country.
After failing to win a first-team place at Anfield this season, Wilson has been left out of
Scotland's crunch Euro 2012 qualifiers with Liechtenstein and Spain.
The UnionDues is reporting that a source close to the situation told the site that Philadelphia
Union midfielder Roger Torres has bought out the remainder of his contract with Colombian club
America de Cali. Speculation on the move is that that either the Union are set to sign the
20-year-old to a contract, or a European club may swoop in and take the talented Colombian off to
another continent.
For many, Sam Hutchinson represents a specter of a foregone era at The Bridge- a time when Jose
Mourinho ran the roost and everyone wondered if we'd ever produce an academy star, to rival the
likes of John Terry, after years of significant investment. Currently, we're replete with inventory
when it comes to young prospects, but once upon a time, this wasn't the case.
Alex Livesly/Getty Images(Bleacher Report) The news piles in as the time is ticking away, with less
than 48 hours now left in the current transfer window.
English teams have been wheeling and dealing to try and get as much done before Wednesday evening's
cut off, and there look to be some exciting moves in the hours to come.
I'm planning on running a larger blog sometime during the interlull, where I discuss all the
various transfers in and out that could happen in January. Or at least all the ones that are
remotely possible. And as I started thinking about Eden Hazard, I found quite a bit to write about.
So I decided it should be a separate blog by itself, even if the chances of it happening may still
be fairly low.
Liverpool fans are the most accepting of the Barclays Premier League's massive wage and transfer
bills, according to statistics gathered by GiveMeFootball.com.
Around three in every four football supporters believe that the amount of money being dealt at the
top flight is stifling the English game.
Final transfer deadline frenzy mania. Or in other words, something Arsenal hadn't seen in
years.
The transfer window has finally closed in England, and Arsenal fans got a taste of something
they hadn't eaten in a very long time: to the wire, last minute deals for first-team transfers. In
the very end, we got a plethora of deals that could just be enough to improve our season, most
notably the loan signing of Yossi Benayoun and the £10m signing of Everton's Mikel Arteta.

On a day when the footballing world throws itself into a tizzy over transfers, loan deals,
medicals, and airport sightings, we would like to take this opportunity to break some news of our
own: Sylvie van der Vaart has a new hair 'do, y'all!
Sylvie was spotted with the new "long bob", as she's calling it, at a party for her friend and
stylist Danie Bles in The Netherlands yesterday.
Finally Spurs have addressed their goal scoring problems of last season, with the loan signing
of controversial striker Emmanuel Adebayor. Attackers from all over the world have been linked with
Spurs this summer, but the club have decided to put their faith in the strong Togolese forward.
Everton Shouldn't Panic Yet - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
We're told some Everton fans are desperate. In fact, we're told it's not just Everton fans, but
their Chairman too. Bill Kenright admitted as much to a supporters group, to discuss their
problems. Everton have exhausted their overdraft and the banks, probably sensibly, don't see any
reason to extend it.

So far this summer, Juventus has spent money all over the pitch, already adding ten players to
their books as of this writing. But despite spending somewhere in the range of 70 million euros on
new transfer fees and making permanent loan deals from last season, the biggest buzz the Turin
giants created this offseason comes from a free signing.
Could it be that AVB has been impressed with our current squad enough to not need to sign anyone?
Remember, David Luiz and Ramires are still to link up with the squad this week.
Well according to Ron Gourlay, he expects a couple of loan deals for our youngsters to be completed
before the end of the transfer window and that's it.

With David Beckham in the final year of his ground-breaking MLS contract, speculation has
turned to whether the 36 year-old midfielder will resign with the LA Galaxy and the league, or
continue his quest for another international cap elsewhere. In an interview with the press,
Garber talked about the MLS All Star's impact on the league, and as expected painted it as a
perfect partnership.

the midway point of the club's preseason fixtures, and possibly gives us the first chance to see
the Liverpool bow of at least a couple summer signings.

Unlike John Bostock who we discussed yesterday, Andros Townsend doesn't seem to have too many
issues with loan deals and that looks to be another likely scenario for next season.
Since 2009, Andros has played for 6 different loan clubs and made a decent impression wherever
he has been.
Blackpool Keen on Young Liverpool Duo
Blackpool are believed to be keen on loan deals for Liverpool youngsters Tom Ince and Gerardo
Bruna, according to Sky Sports . The Seasiders recently shipped their captain off to Merseyside and
could look to call in a favour now that the clubs have repaired their fractured relationship.
It seems odd that a player of 19 may have reached the ‘crossroads' of a career, but John
Bostock seems to fit that scenario at the moment. John has been discussed before, but his situation
has moved on slightly with a return to Tottenham and a couple of goals at Spurs Lodge that have
capped some reports of good overall form.
t was pointed out on here in one of the comments that it's not that easy to get rid of our
fringe players if nobody wants them. Players such as Bale and Modric are naturally going to be in
demand but there aren't exactly a flood of rumours concerning the likes of O'Hara, Bentley and
Keane.
