The quietness. It's so loud. In its quietness, of course.
According to various reports in The Sun (not linking) and The Express (won't link because of
auto-playing video), there was something of a team meeting at the training ground this week. Some
might call it 'crisis talks', some might call it 'group therapy', some might call it 'Trevor'.

As your probably aware, Pies suffered a pretty large hack attack yesterday, knocking us off air
for almost the entire day hence the reason we're slightly late with this one, but it's a goody so
we hope you'll forgive the tardyness.
What we have here is Lionel Messi scoring the third goal of an obligatory,
barely-worth-mentioning hat-trick against Malaga on Sunday eve instantly made great by Gol TV
co-commentator Ray Hudson (a long-time Pies hero) reaching a point of euphoric climax in the
process.

Nicklas Bendtner has been caught on camera in his native Denmark, (reportedly) drunkenly
stumbling into a takeaway after a night out in Copenhagen in search of pizza, only to find himself
sans cash.
So far you can empathise with young Nicky, right?
In the wake of an encouraging win it would be easy to simply focus on the positives like normal,
happy people who know how to enjoy success. But what those happy people who know how to enjoy
success don't know is that failure and pain is lurking just around every corner, waiting to spring.
So really, you're much better off embracing a more negative outlook that asks, "Why hasn't Jose
Enrique been called up for Spain yet, and does it mean there's something wrong with him we don't
know?
Two weeks without club football? Check. The potential for the club's most important players to
pick up injuries? Check. All the time in the world to stew over a bad performance leading into the
break? Check. A fully functioning liver? That might depend on how many Liverpool players go to
sleep Tuesday night without having picked up an injury between now and then.
Scotland travel to Liechenstein on Saturday looking to keep their slim hopes of qualifying for
Euro 2012 alive. Despite the assertions of manager Craig Levein, this campaign has been nothing
short of a disaster for the Tartan Army and another major step back for the national team at a time
when the quality of player available for selection is as high as it has been for some time.

Pies says: "Arteta? Yes, I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice can of
Fanta..."
You say?
Charts and graphs are undeniably awesome, but I'm sure you all remember that from last time. So
do you know what's even more undeniably awesome than charts and graphs? That's right: Transfer
season.
And also problem drinking, but for now let's stick to transfer season. And charts and
graphs.
Eric Abidal has given a heartfelt thank you to his Barcelona team-mates and captain
Carles Puyol for allowing him to be the first player to lift the famous jug-eared trophy after the
match.
Goals by Pedro, Messi and David Villa sealed a superb 3-1 victory for the Catalan giants who
bagged their fourth European Cup.
For a team that has accomplished so much over the past three seasons, you'd think more people would
be lauding the efforts of Pep Guardiola loud and clear for all the world to hear. Instead you get a
great deal of comments that try to claim that the talent Guardiola has at his disposal makes his
job easy or simple.

What's Mungoing on? It's Mungo, that's what. This week, Mungo hits upon a unique plan to retain
Heart of Clachmaninshire's top flight status and, with support from Glenn Hoddle, successfully
makes everybody's liver shut down.
Dotmund is, as ever, responsible. For this, anyway.

Eric Abidal's agent has revealed the Barcelona defender is progressing well after surgery to
remove a tumour on his liver.
The 31-year old France international had surgery last week and his representative David
Venditelli told COM Radio last night he is "recovering well", is in "good spirits" and awaiting the
results of a biopsy to "see if everything is fine".
Can you smell Euro 2012 coming? I can as I ordered 15 tickets for the matches (Poland's group
games and games in Poznań). If I'm allocated all of them I will probably have to sell my liver
(not in a good shape) to pay for all of it. You can order your tickets till the end of March on the
UEFA homepage.

Barcelona defender and former Kickette Midweek Mmm, Eric Abidal, will undergo surgery on Friday
for a tumour on his liver. The news was announced via Barca's Twitter feed and has since been
confirmed on their official website.
Abidal, who has made over one hundred and forty appearances for his club, has requested privacy
and Barcelona have yet to confirm when the player might be expected to return.
I couldn't believe my eyes when I read the news that FC Barcelona defender Eric Abidal is to have
an operation on his liver to remove a tumour.
I'm gutted for him.
From what I've seen of him though he is a real fighter so I hope this strength gets him through
this.
It kind of puts things into perspective doesn't it?
You stay classy, blogoland.
Polls polls polls, poley poley polls, I love polls...
No, wait, that could be taken the wrong way. Unless it being taken the wrong way doubles our
traffic. Because I'm a real whore when it comes to hits...
Wait, no, that sounds pretty bad, too.
