The Philadelphia Union have been under fire from their fan base most of this off season.
Recently on their official website CEO and Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz pens a open letter of
sorts to the Unions fans.
The football world already has it all planned out: fans, players, ex-players, pundits and
journalists alike all want Harry Redknapp to replace Fabio Capello as England manager, following
the Italian's resignation yesterday evening.
Some were already looking beyond Euro 2012 Capello had already planned to retire after this
summer's tournament to the Redknapp era, convinced he would be the man for the job at some
point.
Right colour, wrong shirtIt's a Chile afternoon in Toronto! Great news for TFC
supporters and pun-lovers alike as The Reds officially announced the signing of Chilean
international defender Miguel Aceval today. The announcement concludes a signing-process that has
been rumoured since December but spent the last few days floating around MLS red-tape limbo.
I No Longer Know The Arsenal Team I Support by Lorenzo Sallows. Another defeat. Three back to back
losses and we continue to drift in limbo, detached from the top four, hopelessly trying to sustain
a top half table finish. All but a single goal mustered from a poor display leads us neatly back to

At the end of the 2011 MLS season, one of Major League Soccer's veterans retired. After 14 years in
the league, Andy Williams chose to hang up his boots and pick up a clipboard as he joined the
RealSaltLake technical staff. After winning an MLS Cup, representing his national team and building
a life in Utah, the Jamaican is able to look back on his career with pride.

With the public sector strikes rattling on today across the country, we at Pies thought it would
be timely to have a little look at a run-down of some of football's industrial action over the
years some worthy, some really not...

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. The scene outside the Revolution locker room on Wednesday brought with it a
mixed bag of emotions.
As the players and coaches cleaned out their lockers and carried their belongings to their cars,
many were probably relieved to finally put the 2011 season behind them, head home, and relax after
tumultuous 34 games.

footballing heavyweights...Travelling from the relaxed, curious hubbub of South Korea's single largest populated island,

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Whenever a popular coach departs, the accompanying emotions felt by his
former charges are usually sadness, disappointment, and empathy. And that has certainly been the
case with the Revolution in the immediate aftermath of Steve Nicol's exit earlier this week.
But, with a new coaching regime all but certain to bring about more change, another emotion is
beginning to creep into minds of the very same players the former gaffer personally selected over
the years: anxiety.
When Giovani Dos Santos' proposed move to Sevilla was blocked by Spurs this summer, the Mexican
was anticipating more game time at the Lane as a result.
However, we are now half way towards another transfer window and that hope has yet to
materialise. At the time, Gio said,
"After such a long time without having any confidence in me I am now going to get my chance, which
makes me feel weird.

Gian Piero Gasperini went winless in his five matches as Inter's manager
The nil-nil result between Inter and Roma at the weekend was one that sparked a debate over
which under-fire manager would go first, Luis Enrique or Gian Piero Gasperini.
In my whole entire stinking existence I have never seen Arsenal involved in a relegation scrap.
There is always a first for everything I suppose!
People say Arsenal will find it tough to get into the top four this season.
Well, at the moment, I'd be happy if we finish outside of the bottom four!

Michael Bradley is officially out of team limbo.
According to Bradley's agent, Ron Waxman, the 24-year-old U.S. international midfielder has
completed his move from Borussia Monchengladbach to Chievo Verona, ending a frustrating spell on
the sidelines and beginning a new chapter in his club career.
Chelsea & Arsenal Interested in Meireles
Chelsea are preparing a renewed bid for Liverpool's Raul Meireles, after an initial offer of
£8m plus ex-Red Yossi Benayoun was rejected. Arsenal are also rumoured to be interested in the
player, although they are yet to make a formal move.
I forgot to mention this piece from The Shin Guardian the other day. Looks like Baby Bradley is in
that weird European wilderness/limbo period that hit Jozy & Freddy. Shame that. The Free Michael
Bradley Movement starts now!
Aquilani Seals Milan Loan Switch
Alberto Aquilani has sealed a loan switch to AC Milan, according to Gazetta Dello Sport . The
Italian will move for the 2011/12 season in its entirety, and will likely make the move permanent
at the end of the season. The Reds had hoped that Juventus would take up a similar option to
purchase Aquilani following his loan spell in Turin last term, but a move didn't transpire and he
has since been stuck in limbo at Liverpool.
It was inevitable.
A lot of heart shown by all the players, the crowd – fair play to most of them – rose to the
occasion, young guns despite their obvious inexperience performed admirably, those in a limbo
showed their professionalism, but in the end it all came to nought.
Another once-in-a-lifetime freak goal conceded by Arsenal gave Liverpool the edge in the final
quarter-hour of the game when it looked like the ten men might just hold on.
Faryd Mondragon once again tweeted about the Juan Pablo Angel situation, telling fans to get
some sleep and wait for news about the striker later this week.
Mondragon had caused some confusion earlier in the day by tweeting about his "brother" possibly
coming to play with the Philadelphia Union.
Summer has delivered a collective beating to the confidence of US Soccer fans. Mexico dominated
the Gold Cup final, some of the big national team names are in transfer limbo, and MLS sides have
received some severe drubbings at the hands of European opposition going through the pre-season
motions.
After his release from West Ham at the end of last season, several followers of the future of the
USMNT wondered what was happening. Gooch was in limbo at Milan (although later made his way to
Porto), Bocanegra was on his last legs, and most of the rest of the back line for the US was
playing in MLS where hacking seems to take precedence over finesse.
Liverpool could be forced to scrap new stadium development plans amid a dispute over deadlines with
the local council, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Merseyside club are stuck in limbo as they are neither able to build a new stadium nor increase
the capacity at Anfield.
Rigid and unsympathetic deadlines set by the local council are to blame for Liverpool's failure to
expand their current home.
The Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas is not training with the Arsenal first team while he waits for
Barcelona to finally come to an agreement with the Gunners over his move back to the Nou Camp, and
Arsene Wenger wants the situation resolved as soon as possible. When asked if Fabregas would be
prepared to stay [.
Agent: Aquilani to Fiorentina Deal 50/50
Alberto Aquilani's agent remains positive that a deal to take his client to Fiorentina this
summer can still be reached, even desite reports earlier today suggesting a loan move was out of
the quesiton . Aquilani would prefer to make the switch to Italy on a permanent basis to avoid
having to spend another summer in limbo when the curtain comes down on the 2011/12 campaign.
Talks between Aston Villa and Liverpool over the transfer of Stewart Downing also included
preliminary discussions regarding the future of fellow England midfielder Joe Cole, it is being
suggested.
Cole's Liverpool future looks particularly bleak following the news that Downing will move to
Anfield in a deal said to be worth up to £20million.

Does anyone else feel like Tottenham are stuck in limbo? Probably too good for the Europa
League, not quite good enough for the Champions League. A situation that it appears impossible to
free ourselves from. I'm not interested in the riches of Manchester City or Chelsea. I feel like
any achievements they make mean very little as there are no real obstacles in either side's way
other than the impatience of their respective owners.
Despite having earned a fortune in recent years, the chances are that Emmanuel Adebayor is a man
who almost certainly regrets his actions over the last few years, with the result of those actions
leaving him in a state of frustrating limbo and without many clubs in the context of world football
that would be particularly keen for him to join them, despite his undoubted talent.
As QPR pull out of contention to sign Newcastle United's Wayne Routledge, the player will be back
with the club for pre-season training. But does he have any sort of future at Newcastle? Wayne
Routledge, who spent the second half of last season out on loan to QPR, appears to be somewhat in
limbo at [.

- One Month from Today: The 2011/12 -Premiership Fixtures Released!
In a couple of hours, Chelsea take on Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge and I really hope it's
what happens on the pitch that takes much of the focus of attention. Somehow, I really can't see
what happening though which is a shame.
I wrote an article the other day about the situation with our manager, the fact that everyone has
been left in limbo and besides everything else, our manager is only human and deserves respect from
all of us and the club.
With the ongoing campaigning to the running up to the General Elections, it's inevitable to see
various S.League stadiums being selected as venues for the contesting parties to hold their mass
rallies.
According to sleague.com, the selected stadiums are Bedok, Bishan, Choa Chu Kang, Clementi, Jurong
East (pictured below, courtesy of Albirex Niigata[S]), Jurong West, Tampines, Toa Payoh and
Woodlands Stadiums, while two stadiums (Hougang and Queenstown) were also named as the "reserve"
venues by the police.
To hell with a recap of the nightmare at Old Trafford. To hell with it.
Last train to Rome?
What I will say is that we weren't as poor as many have been saying. We were better than in the
first leg, more cohesive, and might have edged the opening half if not for some particularly
rubbish defending from Anelka.
Smooth pitch.

As I'm sure you're aware, Andy Carroll's eleventh-hour deadline day switch to Liverpool left
Newcastle with £35 million to plug the gap left in their front-line by the bruising striker and
about an hour or so to do it in.
As a result (and coupled with a face-mashing injury to Shola Ameobi), Toon are a little on
'short' side up top these days, with manager Alan Pardew left to scour the post-deadline free
market in order to replenish his attacking options.

In every young, talented footballer's tenure, there are smart career moves, and then there are
the occasional "WTF" moments. In the case of Karim Benzema's newest venture rapping on a new French
track, "Fais moi la passe"/"Let me pass" this is undoubtedly the latter.
There's no good way of leaving Liverpool for Chelsea. There's no reason you can give that would
convince the Anfield faithful that switching their adulation for Stamford Bridge is a wise
move.
But what you don't have to do is completely alienate those supporters by engineering a move at the
most inopportune time and coming out with daft statements to back it up.
