Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has again defended Andy Carroll after accusing the media of
targeting the most expensive British footballer in history.
Ahead of a reunion with former club Newcastle on Friday, the record-breaking £35million striker

The People quietly apologises to Andy Carroll and LFC
EVEN with the best of intentions people can make mistakes. And that includes The People, the
Sunday tabloid from the same publishers as the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror. Did The People have
the best intentions when they made a mistake in a story they ran about Andy Carroll?
Last Weekend, 'The People' ran a story claiming that Liverpool had put Andy Carroll on a 12 month
fitness schedule in a bid to improve his performances for the club. It was obvious from first-read
that the story was ludicrous, and The People has now publicly apologised to Carroll for running the
story.

akin to offering a drowning man a glass of water.

It's no secret that one of our favorite pastimes around here is drinking. Whether it's in an
attempt to cope with the punishing reality of last fall or to celebrate any or all of life's little

regulars seem to have embraced this ethos, churning out some remarkably coherent and insightful

the start of his club's preseason camp. The former Real Madrid star had a scintillating first
season with Harry Redknapp's Spurs, and hopes to make an even bigger splash as Tottenham eye a spot
in the top four next season.
Spurs players were back in training last week and it seems that Rafael van der Vaart has had the
most to say ahead of the new season.
The Dutch international is enjoying his first pre-season at Spurs Lodge and is relishing the
task ahead and meanwhile he has given some hope to Spurs fans who regarded him as too injury-prone
last term,

Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie was recently quoted as saying that England's national team's

five seasons at Chivas USA and two starts in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the defender chose a change
of football, culture and lifestyle when he joined Tigres in January.
With all his business and show biz lifestyle on the side, Rio Ferdinand may have surprised some

"I'll either be managing a club or will be doing the school run and working on my magazine
and charities," he said.

there was another club in for him, possibly Sevilla, and another English club but I am unsure of
