The San Jose Earthquakes took a step toward fortifying their back line Wednesday by agreeing to a deal with Honduran centerback Victor Bernardez.

Bernardez, 29, has 52 caps for Honduras. He started in all of Honduras' games during this past summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup and was also a member of the country's World Cup team in 2010.

Tough scenes in Belgium this weekend when Germinal Beerschot fans discovered rhyming for the very first time, deciding that rhyming triumphs good taste and decision making and human decency and all of that inconsequential "stuff".

The game between Germinal & Lierse was abandoned briefly after "Kawashima-Fukujima" started raining down from the crowd in the direction of Lierse's keeper, Eije Kawashima, who was quite visibly distraught by the whole thing, while also dodging projectiles.
