Harry odds on but read this before you bet. The JimmyG2 Column Today we welcome our Founder Muser
JimmyG2 to the spare room to reflect on the ongoing Capello, Redknapp, England Manager, farrago.
Good afternoon Jimmy and thanks for coming in at such short notice. Entirely my pleasure. I was
just sexing some chickens but they can wait.
Here is my thinking:
1. Harry is battered and bruised after the court case, just look at the interview this morning
outside his home in Dorset. Think all the media pressure and the cushy job at Spuds, no doubt a
massive pay rise and more money for players to come from Levy will mean... thanks but no
thanks.
Jon Levy The Yanks are coming off what's becoming the typical Jurgen Klinsmann USMNT performance
when faced with less skilled competition. They possessed the crap out of ball, moved it well in
their opponent's half, but failed to generate clear cut scoring chances against a well organized
defense. But they did get a pinch of [.
Jon Levy The national team hasn't even suited up in 2012, but it's already been an encouraging year
for American soccer. Dempsey and Donovan (for two months, at least) are both leading the line of
attack for their respective English Premier League teams, the Women's National Teamers avoided a
would-be tragedy in their Vancouver hotel [.

Rochester fans were treated to a wonderful display of tension, speed and accuracy Monday
night as the
Milwaukee Wave showed their skills against the
Rochester Lancers.
After a ten-six loss at their last matchup the Lancer squad was ready to even the odds as they
broke out to score first.
Jon Levy You'll have to forgive all of us here at The Yanks Are Coming for getting into a
more-than-healthy amount of self-referencing in the coming months. We're coming up on the blog's
fourth birthday this summer, TYAC having been created in the wake of a very talented 2008 Olympic
soccer team's early and unexpected exit from the Beijing [.

are going ahead with the £400M Northumberland Park development following the defeat in the Olympic
Stadium bid.

By Jon Levy I'm going to be really nice to Jurgen Klinsmann and describe his first six matches in
charge as "underwhelming." Far more severe adjectives could be applied, especially after the
disappointing performance against France. Alexei Lalas nailed it, as he often does, in calling the
team out for not even attempting to rise [.
By Jon Levy The Yanks are over in Europe for a long weekend with their cool Uncle Jurgen;
supposedly he's going to take them out to discotheques, let them drink and talk to girls, and
really help them find themselves. Meanwhile, they're tasked with making some sort of progress as a
national team in the [.
That infernal Redknapp quote now has some significance worth shouting about. As we know, that sad
Fulham puppy Martin Jol took us to two consecutive 5th place finishes. And were it not for a dodgy
lasagne, it would have been fourth. Ramos was brought in and after 8 games, we lied broken at the
bottom of the league with only 2 points.

On Friday evening, October 20th at 8:00 p.m., Brits Pub in Minneapolis, Minnesota will host the

Scott Parker has been an instant hit amongst Spurs fans but it seems that the Tottenham board
took a lot of convincing before sanctioning his move from West Ham at the end of August.
Parker has slotted in comfortably in his customary midfield berth and has more than played his
part in Tottenham's recent run of form; a fact that seems to vindicate Harry's faith in him.
Why Levy will lose 'Arry to England and open his wallet for Carlo
Okay, cards on the table time. I got quite excited on Monday night at the thought of Harry
Redknapp as England boss. The rumours had been doing the rounds at around 8pm that Fabio Capello
had been offered the manager's job at Anzhi Mackachkala, that Russian outfit where they have more
money than they know what to do with.
By Jon Levy The Yanks' one-nil victory over a mix-and-match Honduras squad this weekend didn't
inspire passionate feelings of indomitable hope or incredulous consternation, and that's probably a
good thing. The summer of 2011, the summer of everything for the national teams took the American
soccer community on a ride we won't ever forget, but [.
By Jon Levy A month ago it looked like we were in for what could pass for a marquee CONCACAF
friendly. Now that's wrong for a couple reasons. Aside from the fact that no "marquee CONCACAF
friendly" outside of U.S./Mexico exists, both the U.S. and Honduras have now both been hit with the
injury bug. [.
As something of a footnote to Daily Mail sports news this morning, the newspaper reports that
David Pleat is lined up to return to the club for a fifth stint in a new role as scout for ‘young
and overseas players'.
Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of young talent in recent weeks and during the
summer, the club picked up some exciting prospects in the shape of Cristian Ceballos and Soulemayne
Coulibaly.
1-0 down but Harry's not worriedRead on to find out why. Committee for match fixtures and
fittingsEuropa Division. Dear Mr. Redknapp, Just a courtesy note to you which I have copied to Mr.
O'Neill. The two Chairman , Messrs Roche and Levy have now agreed in consultation with their
respective PR departments the general outline of the Europa League game at your ground on Thursday.
Good win in the Europa League last night. 3-1... Moving on... North London Derby this weekend, one
in which our ex nemesis Adebayor will experience (and hopefully score for) the light side. The
Arsenal team haven't really improved any part of the team since last season. Same wobbly defence
but with a wobbly German in it now, the midfield has swapped Fabregas and Nasri for Arteta and
Benayoun, a deal which if performed by Redknapp and Levy, I would be climbing up into the exec box
via the dug-out with a hunting knife in tow, and the attack is still led by van Persie.
Why Spurs chief Levy is my hero of the transfer window for keeping Modric
So who was the star of this transfer window for you? Alex Ferguson for swiftly snapping up two
of England's brightest young talents? Roberto Mancini for bringing in genuine top quality in Sergio
Aguero and Samir Nasri?
By Jon Levy Jurgen Klinsmann welcomes most of the important European-based pieces of his new
national team as he looks to build on the Mexico draw in matches two and three of his USMNT regime.
But before we get into the Costa Rica match, some news and notes are in order. Clint Dempsey did
not [...]
Good morning, people of Earth. I trust you're all strapped in tight; this could be an
interesting day at the office. We're stumbling into the hazy twilight of the transfer window and it
appears as if we've got a grubby finger in many an assorted pastry. Take a seat, avert thine eyes
from the League table for just a second and I'll try and keep you abreast of what's been
occurring ahead of what promises to be an action-packed twelve-odd hours.
An hour before kick off, stood in the car park of the Bell & Hare the sun was shining and there
were some optimistic voices. Minutes later and the team news filtered through.
Almost everyone was incredulous. A central midfield of Luka Modric and Niko Kranjcar against the
most powerful & dangerous midfield in the Premier League?
It's the Hope that kills you Above the Gates of Hell in Dante's 'Divine Comedy' are inscribed the
words 'Abandon all hope ye who enter here'. I'm paying to have it similarly placed above the Bill
Nicholson gates to White Hart Lane as that is my prediction for the nature of the coming season.
Now as all football fans and especially Tottenham fans know 'It's the hope that kills you'.
Frankly we got away with it: it could easily have been 8 on both sides of the north London
divide. By the time Spurs found a little of the good stuff, City had made and missed three good
chances. More opportunities came their way as the game progressed and they eagerly sliced through
our toiling, bewildered defence.
United were just out of reach... A valiant attempt that fell apart after 60 minutes. Goal one,
Wellbeck found space between the floundering Dawson & Kaboul. Goal two, the back heel assist was
just class. Goal three, Dawson out smarted by Rooney. Still, you go to Old Trafford expecting the
worst, hoping for the best and being content with not getting battered too much.
Sunday evening I recorded a podcast, where I reitirated that I still held firm in the belief
that Luka Modric would still be a Spurs player come September 1st 2011. Despite all the below, I
still believe that to be the case.
During that podcast recording, Harry Redknapp did another impromtu interview on TalkSport.
In the early days of Tottenham On My Mind I wrote a piece characterising the relationship
between Harry Redknapp and his chairman. The title, Levy is Redknapp's Poodle, summed up their
dealings during their first summer transfer window together. At his previous clubs, Redknapp
ensured large sums of cash were at his disposal, even when at West Ham and Portsmouth that money
wasn't really there to spend.
It's always hard to split idle gossip from actual news during the transfer window, but
confirmation has arrived that there is real substance in the stories linking Peter Crouch and
Wilson Palacios with a move to Stoke City.
Potters Chairman Peter Coates confirmed that talks had been going on for some time as he stated
that his club had made their final bid for the pair.

I don't know about you, but I am fed up at our transfer activity, or lack of it, this season. We've
needed a striker since January, yet it seems no proper moves to bring one in have happened. Is
anyone asking why?
Apparently, we've got money to spend. Apparently, Levy and the board are committed in backing
Harry.
The biggest hits we have had for a story in the recent past was a table of average attendances
for the past season in the top 30 European clubs. Barcelona came top, followed by Borussia Dortmund
and then Manchester United.
The story raises a broader issue. Why are we so interested in attendances?

With less than two weeks until the Premier League season kicks off, Spurs are still to make
their big move in the transfer market. I hope Brad Friedel doesn't read this, but if he is our big
play then I'm sure we're in for a long, hard fight for mediocrity this year. That a striker remains
Spurs top priority is no secret.
Use your credit card Daniel in case we have to return the goods. The only people who benefit
from window shopping are double glazing companies. But there's plenty going on around Spurs at the
moment: window shopping that is. Now I like a nice shop window as much as the next man and if you
ask Mrs JimmyG2 she'll tell you it's one of my favourite displacement activities.

This way to London
So, the first bit of news many of you came across this morning was that Mr. Falcao has decided
to re-up his contract with Porto for an additional two years, thereby taking his buyout clause from
30 million to 45 million Euros.
Michael Dawson has moved quickly to deny any rumours of unrest at the club after reports in
today's press suggested that he was unhappy with his current pay. The Sun (!) quotes their source
as saying,
"Michael feels under-valued. He's been offered a derisory pay rise by Levy. He feels he's really
proved his worth to the club and become one of their most important players yet this is how they
reward him,"
Meanwhile, Michael's statement on the club website reads,
"I have no idea where this story has come from it certainly has not come from myself or any of
my representatives.
