Blackburn Rovers 4-2 Swansea City Premier League 3rd December 2011
At Ewood Park on Saturday, Blackburn fed the Yak 'til he almost burst, but he indeed score a
goal, four to be exact. The 29-year-old (that's what he claims anyway, but I've a sneaking
suspicion that 'Nigerian years' are closer to 'dog years' than anything else) has rediscovered his
best goal-poaching form again, leading Rovers to a much needed three points against Swansea.
Leroy Lita had the chance to cover himself with glory against Villa last week. After superbly
turning the Villa defender, he dragged his shot just wide of the post. That sums up Swansea's
problem in their first Premiership season. This lack of a cutting edge may eventually drag the
Swans back into a relegation dogfight.
The game went ahead amidst many calls for its postponement following the tragic news of Gary
Speed's death. The result doesn't seem that important in the scheme of things right now, but it's
probably a point that will prove invaluable at the end of the season.
Following a heart warming and entirely spontaneous round of applause in place of the planned minute
of silence, the first half didn't provide any shocks.
This game will go ahead despite the tragic news that Wales manager, Gary Speed, has apparently
taken his own life. Naturally, with the game being in Wales and a number of internationals
involved, the game will inevitably be effected in some way. Such sad news.
Alex McLeish has promised a better performance than we were treated to at White Hart Lane and,
in all honesty, it would be difficult to be much worse.

Norwich City 3-1 Swansea City Premier League 15 October 2011
Summer-signing Anthony Pilkington fired Norwich to their third victory in four games against
Swansea at Carrow Road, with the midfielder's first goal coming with just 49 seconds on the
clock.
So, Swansea City now have their first win under their belt, scoring their first goals and
securing their first ‘sell out' of the season as the stadium finally hit the 20,000 mark.
It's been a long time coming but the Swans can now breathe a huge sigh of relief, with the vital
three points propelling Brendan Rogers's side into fourteenth and after a superb performance on
Saturday, Swansea fans will be wondering whether pundits may have been too quick to right off the
team as relegation fodder only a few weeks into the new season.

Brendan Rogers' Swansea City side play attractive football, but before yesterday, they had
failed to make that positivie play count in the top tier.
However, against the Baggies, the Swans cantered to a 3-0 victory, courtesy of their first three
goals of the new campaign.
Swansea City got their first three points of the season as they stuffed West
Brom 3-0 today at the Liberty Stadium.
Scott Sinclair scored the opener from the spot after 14 minutes,(see below) Leroy Lita doubled
the Swan's lead in the 24th minute before Nathan Dyer completed the scoring 4 minutes into the
second half.
So, the time has finally come as Swansea City fans gather up their scarves and hats, don their
new shirts, check their sat navs and AA Road planners, pick out their toilet stops and plan their
trip to Manchester City and a journey to the Etihad Stadium.
For the converted, a four and a half hour drive is in order from Swansea as a convoy of 2500
fans make the trip north from South Wales to face Roberto Mancini's ‘fantasy' football side on
Monday night.
How much have the EPL's promoted teams have spent so far? - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
When writing a piece for the Montreal Gazette concerning how much each promoted side had paid to
assemble their roster, it was interesting to note the circumstances of each team. Queens Park
Rangers, though ostensibly backed by the capacious pockets of Bernie Ecclestone and perhaps Lakshmi
Mittal, have spent a miserly ₤1.
Newly-promoted Swansea have completed the signing of Middlesborough striker Leroy Lita
for a fee of £1.75m. Lita (26) who has had Premier League experience with Reading has
scored 20 Championship goals in two season's with Boro and could be a astute signing for the Welsh
club come the end of the season.

Leroy Lita could be making a move back to the Premier League after top flight newcomers Swansea
reportedly agreed to a £1.7m fee with Middlesbrough.
The Congolese-born striker has spent time in the Premier League before, where he started strong
in Reading's first season in the Premier League back in 2006 but soon found himself out of
favor.
Screen grab rom http://totalfpl.com/ I can't speak to the veracity of these rumours, but for me,
this juxtaposition highlights the inequality in the Premier League. And in truth, in world football
in general. When one team is getting Kun Aguero and the other is hoping to land Leroy Lita... well,
it's just not fair.
We are cheating a bit this week by breaking our top 10 into two parts. The reason for
this is because injuries fall into three different categories. 1) Boring. They pulled their
hammy, waaa, 2) Stupid footballer's getting injured in unorthodox ways (our personal favourite)
and 3) horrible leg breaks that turn your stomach (The two later make this list.
Norwich City launched their new home kit for the 2011/2012 Premier League season with this funny
video. Norwich's new 11/12 strip has been made by Italian sportswear company Errea. The Canaries
won promotion to the Premier League by virtual of their second place finish in the Championship.
The video below showcases Norwich's home kit 2011/2012.
Norwich City recently won promotion to the Premier League by virtue of their second placed finish
in the Npower Championship last season. The Canaries have just announced their 2011/12 pre-season
fixtures list. The highlight of the fixture list is a clash against Real Zaragoza, three fixtures
against unnamed German opposition and outings against Crystal Palace [.
A bright, if blustery, afternoon at The Cardiff City Stadium, then, and what should be a routine
day at the office for Cardiff City. They are still chasing the heels of Norwich City, but a home
match against sixteenth placed Middlesbrough should bring home a comfortable three points today and
keep the pressure on the Canaries as they travel to Fratton Park to play Portsmouth this
evening.

T'was the week that saw the January transfer window slam abruptly shut, but not before you know
what (possibly NSFLiverpoolFans).
We hope you enjoy perusing our sum up of this week's best and worst news yet another
formerly regular feature that's been dubiously neglected by our fickle HQ.
