Gossip on the Guys: Press Conference Pretty

Barcelista 03 November @ 02:51 PM EST
Leo and Pep do press conferences prior to tonight's freeze-fest against Rubin Kazan, and look great while they're at it. Leo's got this whole I'm-thinking-ginger-stubble-totally-works-for-me look, while Pep is sending out I'm-just-too-hot-to-handle vibes even in the midst of his epic stare-down with the microphone. Milan 2 Parma 0: We are back

AC Milan Blog 01 November @ 05:35 AM EST
Milan continued their good form earning another win in what was a very professional display from Leo's boys. It was Ronaldinho who again was the creative spark creating both goals for Marco Borriello. The win capped of a fine month which saw our club climb up the table from 12th position to 4th, just six [. Match Report: Barcelona 2-0 Leonesa

Barcelista 29 October @ 02:35 PM EST
Sure we were playing against a third division side last night, but did anyone really think that we'd tear it up like we did against Zaragoza? The way we see it, 2-0 is a great achievement for a lineup of mostly substitutes and B-teamers. Because without those six starters who were rested, there goes most of the defensive strength, the midfield dominance and the attacking creativity. Click to continue reading...

I want proof of greatness

La Liga Report 29 October @ 08:41 AM EST

This Saturday and Sunday Barca, Real Madrid, and Valencia all have matches against undermatched opponents. The thing is: I'm not expecting blowouts. No, I'm thinking we have some real issues on our hands.Â

Barca gets Osasuna, Real Madrid gets Getafe, and Valencia gets Malaga. I know these seem like easy wins but I'm not sure of anything anymore.

UN EMPATE DE SENSACIONES

TREMENDAMENTE MOTIVADOS 25 October @ 09:19 PM EST
Click to continue reading...

Night o’ Goats. Oh, and yes we are finally eliminated

The Offside - Kansas City Wizards 19 October @ 03:00 PM EST

It's bad enough we have had a horrible season. It's bad enough that we played basically the same lineup that has given us little to cheer about throughout the season (with Zusi and Zoltan being the exceptions). Saturday we decided to give the Sounders some help by giving away 3 goals on big mistakes.

La presión sobre Lionel Messi

Sincronizando 19 October @ 02:33 PM EST

TREMENDAMENTE MOTIVADOS 18 October @ 10:52 PM EST
Click to continue reading...

Unfit for 90 in KC

Sounder at Heart - Soccer From the Heart of the Sound 17 October @ 11:33 AM EST
Sometimes people pass things on that I have missed. In this case it isn't a minor detail, but a rather disturbing statement from the KC interim coach Peter Vermes. Thanks Leo. He admits in public that his team is unfit. "The thing that is hard for me to swallow is when we lose the game [...] Click to continue reading...

10 reasons why Liverpool FC DO NOT NEED Javier Mascherano. Sell him, and buy THIS player...

Liverpool Kop 16 October @ 06:15 AM EST
After trying his best to engineer a move away from Anfield in the summer, rumours are flying again that Javier Mascherano wants to leave Liverpool. So where's the problem? Why can't Liverpool just let him leave?! There seems to be this idea that Mascherano is somehow integral to Liverpool's success, but I disagree. Click to continue reading...

Zona Rayada 14 October @ 01:21 AM EST

GC Monaco 0 V Wellington Paris 0

A seat at the A-League 02 October @ 07:27 AM EST
Miron says they are Monaco. Monaco? Monaco?
Why do we need this in the A-League? Only 4,000 fans now - friends and family of the players. What is Jason Culina thinking playing for this rabble? What if they had opened the A-League season?
And Wellington dominated the game. Should have won if Leo Bertos could shoot as well as he can run with the ball. Click to continue reading...

Milan v Bari Preview: Hopes rest with Ronaldinho, again

AC Milan Blog 25 September @ 10:00 PM EST

Match Report: Barcelona 4-1 Racing Santander

Barcelista 23 September @ 01:15 PM EST
This is a victory that marks history, as the current squad have thus become the first Barcelona side to win their first four Liga matches in over a decade. And it doesn't look like the winning streak will be ending anytime soon, with the way the team was looking last night.
With possession of around seventy-three percent, Barca were totally dominating the match, especially for the first half. Click to continue reading...

Who's Hot, Who's Not? Defenders.

Euro 2008 on World Cup Blog 21 September @ 07:42 AM EST

Today I'll give my opinion on the defenders who have been called up by Leo in the last half a year or so. When you go through this analysis you'll realize how huge problems we have in this department. It's not only the usual left back position, but with the injury of Marcin Wasilewski and the unavoidable retirement of Michal Zewlakow we're left stranded on other positions as well.

The Rijkaard File: Galatasaray's Coach Changes the Course of Events for the Team

Five Zero Productions (BETA) 20 September @ 09:43 PM EST
Frank Rijkaard has enjoyed an absolutely brilliant start with Galatasaray. The team has NOT lost one single game since he has been appointed. Won all the 6 games in the Super League and qualified to the group stage in UEFA Europa league. Along with his assistant, Johan Neeskens, he has probably created the best coaching staff in club's history. Click to continue reading...

Transfer Talk: Leo Till 2016

Barcelista 19 September @ 01:43 AM EST
Is it just us, or does the club seem to offer Leo Messi a new and improved contract every year? His salary and buy-out clause continue to climb, keeping him satisfied and far from the groping fingers of other clubs (ahem, Man City); and now his extension is going up too.
.
Leo just penned a new deal that keeps him on the club for a whole seven years more, until 2016 to be precise. Click to continue reading...

Messi was under contract with the blaugrana until 2014 with a large 150 million euro buyout clause on his contract.

Marseille 1 Milan 2: SuperPippo does it yet again

Rodrigo Kenton fuera de Costa Rica ¿Y ahora quien podra defenderlos?

Futblog 15 September @ 02:09 PM EST
Enrique Meza, actual técnico del Cruz Azul; Ricardo Lavolpe, actual entrenador del Atlas;
Click to continue reading...

Livorno 0 Milan 0: Hopeless

AC Milan Blog 12 September @ 01:57 PM EST
In a game of two halves a less than impressive Milan limped home with a point. Leonardo does not seem to have it right yet, however, considering the players at his disposal can we really blame Leo? La Liga: FC Barcelona vs Getafe, ,Saturday, September 12 2009, 18:00 CET

Barcelista 11 September @ 01:18 PM EST
This match has got us both excited and nervous. The first, because it's been a while since we last saw the boys play, and we've missed it. The second, because no way is this going to be easy.
Getafe are a tricky team, and we usually have a hard time against them. The fact that most of our squad is just returning from international duty doesn't help either, especially with our star Leo Messi bound to be feeling glum what with Argentina's qualification struggles. Livorno v Milan Preview: Time for the Hunter

AC Milan Blog 11 September @ 05:46 AM EST
Leo and the team have had plenty to think about following the disaster of two weeks ago. Tomorrow night Milan have a chance to redeem themselves and get back on track when they take on Livorno. Time for a tactical change

AC Milan Blog 02 September @ 08:28 PM EST
Well, it is time to realise that what we have is what we have. Leo is going to have to make do with current crop of players at his disposal. Yes Kun Aguero, we know you'd like three additional kids in future with The Dona but lighten up lady!!! Messiah is unimpressed and you'd best leave all the petty family talk off the pitch.

Anyway, the Argentinean tipos have started their training sessions under the watchful eye of Kun's suegro.

Sydney FC on top of the table after four rounds...can I stop pinching myself now?
It hasn't always been pretty (especially last week's grind against the Mariners), but Vitezslav Lavicka can afford a grin. One gets the feeling that they have been lucky in their opposition so far; Adelaide and North Queensland both look like they will struggle to make the final six, and Wellington were utterly pedestrian in midfield last night, with the significant exception of Leo Bertos.
