Fabio Capello isn't the only former England manager looking for a new gig. Sven-Goran Eriksson,
out of work since he was sacked by Leicester in October, decided to join the many others offering
their services for the Leeds job recently vacated by Simon Grayson. But Leeds chairman and
cantankerous owl Ken Bates, was less than receptive to his offer.
The draw for the FA Cup's fifth round was held earlier today. A reunion with Gus Poyet (via
Brighton) wasn't in the cards, with Chelsea being drawn against Birmingham.
Not bad. The Championship club will pose a threat, but not to the extent that traveling to
Anfield would have. Ties will be held 18/19 February.

Robbie Findley and Nottingham Forest lost 4-0 to Leicester City in an FA Cup Third Round replay on
Tuesday. Jermaine Beckford had a hat trick for Leicester in front of the home fans at The King
Power Stadium. Forest inadvertently opened the scoring seven minutes in with an own-goal and
Findley missed a shot from close range.
Despite chances at both ends, Forest face a replay against Leicester in the FA Cup after a goalless
draw at the City Ground. James Bolton reports. Steve Cotterill stuck to the 4-2-3-1 formation that
had served Forest so well away at Ipswich for the 3rd round tie. There were two changes with George
Boateng being replaced [.

Luis Suarez's ban is huge negative for Liverpool FC but it presents a golden opportunity for Andy
Carroll to step in and really show his worth. Is he capable of doing this? According to former
Leicester and Blackburn striker Robbie Savage, Carroll is definitely capable of filling the void,
but only if Liverpool change their entire approach.
When Forest were drawn with Leicester in the FA Cup it offered both clubs a welcome break from a
testing season. David Bevan from The Seventy Two takes a look at the history between the two sides

The original plan was to head down to Cheltenham to catch up with a mate of mine Colin Buchanan and
watch a game within an hour's drive of his house, but Cheltenham Town were handed a plum FA Cup 3rd
Round tie @ Tottenham Hotspur on January 7th and we have arranged to meet up then.
Former Leicester and Blackburn midfielder Robbie Savage is the latest in a long line of footballers
and managers to name Liverpool star Steven Gerrard as one of the best players ever to grace the
modern game.Speaking to The Mirror, Savage had nothing but good things to say about Liverpool's
captain:"The best player I've ever played against is Steven Gerrard.
After over 12 months out of the game, Martin O'Neill has returned to Premier League management
after signing a three year contract with Sunderland, the team he supported as boy.
For many and certainly for Sunderland fans, it is the perfect appointment, O'Neill has long
since been recognised as one of the great football managers of recent times and has always improved
the standing of any club he has been in charge of.
Much of the focus of Bobby Di Matteo's appearance in front of the press before Liverpool tomorrow
is about his future. There has been speculation of late that clubs had been interested in speaking
to him with a view to becoming their manager (...and Leicester to mention one).
Di Matteo was keen to emphasise how happy he is here in the club he calls his home.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer once turned down the offer of becoming the manager of the Norwegian
national team in favour of staying in charge of our Reserves.
"I work for Manchester United and my career is going in the right direction," he said.
"It would have been exciting to take on a much bigger job than my current job, but I have a job
at United.
Phil Ascough has contributed a number of excellent pieces to The Two Unfortunates over recent
months. Here, the author of Kissing the Badge attempts to get his head round the worst kept secret
in this week's football league: I guess we'll find out some time today - possibly by the time you
read this - whether Hull City need a new manager.
It cannot be denied that Leicester's current position of 13th is not really good enough for a club
that spent in excess of £15million over the summer and has the highest wage bill in the
Championship.
But in what remains an immensely truncated division, the Foxes are just three points off fifth
place and only a further four off the automatic promotion places.
In truth, with Leicester sitting only two points off the playoffs, the departure of Sven from
Leicester does seem a little surprising. However, given his chequered past and ‘colourful'
actions, it allows us to muse on just what might come next: 1. Permanent panellist on Shooting
Stars? It's a show that has got a bit [.

Robbie Keane is currently en route to Los Angeles in order to finalize a
sensational move to sign with LA Galaxy. The Spurs striker, who has also played
at Wolves, Inter Milan, Coventry and Leeds and Celtic, has been desperate for a new challenge in
recent months and MLS seems to be the answer.
Reports this evening have suggested that record Ireland striker Robbie Keane is close to making a
move to LA Galaxy.
Bolton and Blackburn, as well as Championship promotion favourites Leicester, have been linked with
Keane, who has admitted he could move away from the Premier League.

Robbie Keane looks to be on his way to Los Angeles.
A deal is in place for the Galaxy to sign the Ireland International, multiple sources told SBI
on Friday. If Keane does come to the Home Depot Center, it would be in conjunction with a trade of
Juan Pablo Angel from the Galaxy to clear a Designated Player slot for Keane.

Following his contribution to our recent season preview, Coventry blogger Neil Allison has left his
excellent Sky Blues Blog with the childminder once again. This time, Neil files an early progress
report on much-fancied Leicester, who met Cov in 2011-12's first Saturday lunchtime affair.
Leicester City are a club with only one thing on their mind.
Neil Warnock is a lucky man plus Leicester striker Paul Gallagher takes Twitter by

NEIL WARNOCK IS THE LUCKY MAN OF THE SUMMER Congratulations to the winner of Notts County's
weekly raffle in mid-June. Though not sure a grand will be life-changing money to the former
Magpies boss and current QPR manager.
Who's Looking Good?
Leicester: Having massively overhauled the squad during the summer, signing no
less than nine players, including the marquee signings of Kasper Schmeichel, David Nugent, Michael
Johnson, Neil Danns and Paul Konchesky should give the Foxes the quality needed to reach the
Premiership for the first time since 2002.
Jose Mourinho says that Real Madrid are not in talks to sign Emmanuel Adebayor, despite the Togo
international's presence in the crowd as Real beat Leicester in a pre-season friendly.
Asked if he was looking to seal a permanent deal for Adebayor, Mourinho said:
"No.

The 2011/2012 Championship season gets underway this weekend and in what has become recognised
as possibly the most competitive division in football, it is Leicester City and West Ham United who
are the favourites to win the much coverted price of a place in the Premier League.
Traditionally the hardest league to be promoted from, the Championship has earned the reputation
of being uncompromising, erratic, unpredictable but always entertaining, where any team can win any
game.
REAL MADRID notched up its fith straight pre-season friendly victory 1 - 2 against English 2 º
Division Club LEICESTER. Don´t know if it was just me but it seemed an odd game without the fluid
movements & intensity of previous encounters. Perhaps it was the fact the Real Madrid Coach
Mourinho "experimented" more in this match & that did not allow the side to fully blend together.
Spurs have confirmed the loan of Kyle Naughton to Norwich in a deal which should see him play at
Carrow Road for the whole of 2011-12.
The agreement will come as a relief for fans of the right back who had been spotting rumours
linking him with a permanent move to Aston Villa. We all felt however, that Tottenham were not
interested in losing the player and that's been confirmed with this deal.
Dispatches: How to Buy a Football Club July 8, 2011 (Channel 4, 8pm) Tonight's Channel 4 episode of
Dispatches promised much but ultimately proved to be a disappointment, subtitled as it could have
been, "How to pretend to buy a football club from some dodgy geezers in a theme pub". That's not to
say the whole concept of club ownership in England isn't rotten to its core of course, but the
