All American eyes Friday are on Goodison Park, where Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey do battle
in Everton and Fulham's FA Cup match, but there's another game in Europe that is of importance to
Americans abroad as well.
Timmy Chandler's FC Nurnberg and Steve Cherundolo's Hannover 96 are slated to go up against one
another in a Bundesliga match that should be featuring the present and future of U.
Two weeks ago Clint Dempsey made headlines with his first career hat trick, hitting the back of
the net three times in Fulham FC's 4-0 FA Cup Third Round win over Football League One (English
second division) side Charlton Athletic.
Now, just a day after being named 2011 U.S. Soccer Male Athlete of the Year, Dempsey is in the
news again, with another three goal performance.
Manchester United took a big step towards their 20th league title by moving level on points with
leaders Manchester City, who were held 0-0 at West Brom, following a 5-0 victory against Wigan.
United, who thrashed Fulham 5-0 five days ago and Wigan suffered the same fate with the help of
Dimitar Berbatov's hat-trick (41, 58, 78).
Ac Milan's Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic finds himself on the wrong side of the law for the
umpteenth time as he escaped a ban from league matches after a federal prosecutor decided not to
present video footage as evidence against his charge of blasphemy.
Now Ibrahimovic is a good player, there is no denying his abilities, however, his ego is just
to big.
Terry and Cole recreate a scene from 'Blades of Glory'
For many years - too many to mention - Tottenham simply could not beat Chelsea. Yes, there was
the 5-1 victory at White Hart Lane in the 2002 League Cup semi-final, when everything clicked an
even Sergei Rebrov scored, but in the Premier League up until 2006, it just would not happen for
Spurs.
FREDERICKSBURG--Dulles A.C. rallied from a three-goal deficit to take a 6-5 lead late in the
fourth period only to see the Virginia Beach Sol score twice in the last three minutes to take home
a 7-6 Indoor Premier League victory on Saturday night at Fredericksburg Field House. -Read full

In an era of Galácticos, oil ball, and 300,000-a-week wages, it's easy to view football as a
revolution. When something is wrong, blow it up and start over. Avram Grant not working out? Try
Ancelotti. Ancelotti not the ticket? Go for AVB. If Ronaldo and Kaka aren't enough to be beat
Barcelona, maybe Ronaldo, Kaka and The Special One will be.
Prior to Liverpool's league victory at Stamford Bridge a couple of weeke ago, Chelsea manager Andre
Villas-Boas argued that Liverpool were 'challenging for the title' this season. The increasingly
outspoken manager has now reiterated that view, but is the idea of Liverpool as title challengers
just wishful thinking?

Phil Neville is in favor of manager David Moyes bringing in reinforcements to the club during
the winter transfer window in January, but one player the Everton captain doesn't see being brought
in is Landon Donovan.
After seeing Chelsea avoid embarrassment with a convincing UEFA Champions League victory on
Tuesday, Manchester United will hope to follow in its fellow English club's footsteps when it takes
on FC Basel in Switzerland (2:45 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel).
Both teams trail Benfica in Group C, and while either team could win the group with a result and
a Benfica loss to underdog Otelul Galati, the reality of the situation is that the game is a de
facto second-place match.
Martin Jol claims that Jay Spearing's challenge on Moussa Dembele could have broken the Fulham
star's ankle.
The Liverpool midfielder was sent off for the second-half tackle, which won the ball but caught the
Belgian's leg strongly when he followed through.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Jol said: "I will be honest.
Fulham 1-0 Liverpool | Premier League match report
A tight contest could be settled only by a grand mistake. The Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina
mishandled Danny Murphy's attempt in the 85th minute and Clint Dempsey knocked home the loose ball.
The midfielder had hit the bar five minutes earlier as Fulham thrived after the red card shown to
the visitors' midfielder Jay Spearing for an uncontrolled challenge on Moussa Dembélé after 72
minutes.

Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 Bolton Wanderers Premier League 3rd December 2011
Harry Redknapp's Lilywhites strolled home to yet another league victory as they consolidated
their place in the top three in the league.
Liverpool defender Martin Kelly has joked on Twitter that he and midfielder Jay Spearing had a bet
over who would score their first senior goal for the club.
The tweet came after Kelly scored the Reds' second goal in their 2-0 win over Chelsea at Stamford
Bridge in the League Cup quarter-final on Tuesday evening.
Valencia racked up the second biggest ever UEFA Champions League victory as they thrashed Genk 7-0
at the Mestalla to go level on points with Chelsea in Group E. Goals by Jonas, Tino Costa, Pablo
Hernandez, Adruiz and a Soldado hat-trick did the damage as Genk were given the proverbial ‘bath'
in a European night [.
With much of the drama removed from Wednesday's UEFA Champions League matchup between Barcelona
and AC Milan (2:45 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel), the focus can turn to one of the more glaring
subplots of the group stage.
Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will go up against his former team for the first time since
leaving two summers ago.
Robin Van Persie grabbed all the headlines after his two goals gave the Arsenal a 2-1 win at
Norwich and rightly so. Arsene Wenger also managed to garner quite a few column inches in the wake
of the Premier League victory after his interview with L'Equipe in which he was less than
convincing when it came to affirming his Arsenal future.

Premier League Wigan Athletic 3-3 Blackburn Rovers 19th November 2011
Blackburn boss Steve Kean confronts the 'Kean Out' Rovers' fans
The DW Stadium hosted a quite fantastic 'relegation dogfight' which produced a total of six
goals in a game which ultimately saw Wigan and Blackburn have to make do with a share of the
points.
Arsenal claimed a fifth-straight Premier League victory after coming from behind to beat
Norwich City 2-1 at Carrow Road.
Steve Morison gave the Canaries the lead against the run of play on 17 minutes after some
lacklustre defending from Per Mertesacker, only for the Gunners to level just before the half-hour
mark, predictably enough through Robin van Persie.
Kuyt's Chelsea confidence
Dirk Kuyt insists Liverpool will head to Chelsea this weekend full of confidence they can record
a second successive league victory at Stamford Bridge.

2011
Roberto Mancini's star-studded squad had to dig deep to secure yet another league victory, this
time at Molineux.
2-0 up, courtesy of strikes from Bosnian Edin Dzeko and Serb Alexander Kolarov, the Citizens
then saw captain Vincent Kompany sent off for a last-man challenge on Kevin Doyle in the box after
a shaky-looking Joe Hart had spilled the ball.

Bob Mancini was the first to admit that Man City were 'lucky' to register their first ever

three-point haul that puts City back in the running to emerge from Group A, despite things looking
a little bleak as the clock ticked over to '93:00′ at the Etihad last night.

once again failed to impress.
