Don Garber's goal to become a top soccer league in the world will take many different efforts.
One of those is likely to be MLS teams attracting strong young talent from other leagues in
CONCACAF. The Seattle Sounders appear to be interested (Goal.com) in one of those, leftback Ever
Alvarado (Football-Lineups).

he'd heard of the player but he hadn't scored a goal in years. Makes you want to say ouch for the

Playing its first two matches in CONCACAF Champions League group play at home, the Los Angeles
Galaxy looked for the three points in both matches.

Galaxy look to be in a very good position to advance out of Group A after its latest 2-0 win, this
one over Costa Rican superpower LD Alajuelense 2-0 at the Home Depot Center on Thursday night.
Fresh off its 1-0 win over its archrival San Jose Earthquakes that saw it's newest star, Robbie
Keane score its his debut, the Los Angeles Galaxy now resumes its quest to advance in CONCACAF
Champions League Play when they host Costa Rican superpower LD Alajuelense at the Home Depot
Center.
The two teams head into its matchup tied for first in Group A.
*I'm guessing Robbie Keane will head to Ireland directly after Sunday's game in New York.
The tough part will be traveling back from Russia for the home game against the Colorado Rapids
Friday, Sept. 9.
Keane has described these games as "massive" and reiterated he's "100 percent committed to
Ireland - when he's not with the Galaxy:

In fact, the Galaxy play their first two group games at home 7 p.m. Aug. 16 and Aug 25, CONCACAF
announced today.
The club opens against the winner of the preliminary round series between Club Motagua of
Honduras and CSD Municipal of Guatemala and then faces Costa Rica's Alajuelense at Home Depot
Center.
The Colorado Rapids learned on Wednesday that the team will face a Honduran squad and two teams
to be determined in the opening round of the 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League.
The Rapids learned their group stage opponents following a draw held at the confederation's
headquarters in New York City.
The draw for the next tournament was announced today and once again the MLS road to CONCACAF
glory runs through Mexico.
The Preliminary Round matches will be played on July 16-28 (1st Leg) and August 2-4 (2nd Leg).
The Group Stage is tentatively scheduled to begin the second week of August.
The four Development Academy teams taking part in the Dallas Cup Super Group have each played two
games so far at Pizza Hut Park, and are holding their own against some of the top clubs in the
world.
FC Dallas Academy stole the show on Sunday inside the stadium with a 3-1 win against the highly
touted Academy team from FC Barcelona.
The Dallas Texans, FC Dallas Juniors, Real Salt Lake-Arizona and Houston Dynamo are set to compete
against clubs from around the world in this year's Dallas Cup, which kicks off this weekend at
Pizza Hut Park. All four teams will be competing in the Super Group - one of the most prestigious
tournaments in the world for youth teams.
The U.S. Soccer Development Academy will have four teams participating in the 2011 Dallas Cup XXXII
Under-19 Super Group. The Dallas Texans, FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo and Real Salt Lake AZ will be
part of the 16 teams in the Super Group that includes Arsenal FC (England), FC Barcelona(Spain), SC
Corinthians Paulista (Brazil), Coritiba FC (Brazil), Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Tigres
(Mexico), Club Bolívar (Bolivia), LD Alajuelense (Costa Rica), CS Cartagines (Costa Rica),
Chorrillo FC (Panama), Japan National Team U-18 and Vancouver Whitecaps(Canada).
