Brasileiro: Sao Paulo Reaches the Top for the First Time

Without even stepping into the pitch on the weekend, Sao Paulo did something that has been very common for the club lately: It reached the top of Campeonato Brasileiro. In the 34th round of the tournament, the club, who fights for its 4th Brazilian title in a row, benefited from the defeats of Palmeiras and Atletico-MG.

Colors of the Week in the Brasileiro: Black and White

The 13th round of Campeonato Brasileiro was all about black and white. Atletico-MG and Corinthians were the ones who benefited the most from the midweek round. The two clubs won at home by 2-1 and watched direct rivals losing important points.

In Belo Horizonte, Atletico beat Fluminense, who had the 5th debut of coach Renato Gaucho.

Inter threw away a two goal lead as São Paulo came back to earn a 2-2 draw at the Beira-Rio last night.
Alecsandro who was recalled to an Inter side which saw both Taison and D'Alessandro dropped, scored twice in the first half to give Inter a healthy advantage.

Nilmar double sends Inter top of Brasileirão

Two second half strikes from Nilmar was enough to seal Inter a 2-0 victory over Náutico at the Estádio dos Aflitos and put Inter top of the Campeonato Brasileirão after Atlético-MG were held by Botafogo.

The 2nd leg of the Copa Do Brasil Final in Porto Alegre was an entertaining match that featured goals, a near fight, and red cards. Corinthians entered the match with a 2-0 lead from the 1st leg and did not come out defensively remembering what happened in the '08 Final.

Internacional crashed to their first Brasileirão defeat last night as Adriano led Flamengo to a 4-0 victory at the Maracanã. The former Inter Milan striker grabbed a hat-trick to leave Inter empty handed from what was another unconvincing Colorado performance.

Goalie Fabio Costa from Santos and forward Kleber from Cruzeiro did it again. In the Santo Andre 3- 3 Santos draw, Fabio Costa caused an injury in Gustavo Nery which will leave him out of action for 3 months at least.

Magrão had given Inter the lead but Wellington Paulista equalized early in the second-half.

Cruzeiro's Kléber, who was linked with a move to Liverpool last week, was sent off for the third time in the season (twice in the Libertadores).

And this is exactly what happened. Vasco controlled the actions for most of the time. It had territory and it attacked more.
