If you play soccer or are a fan, you know why it's called the Beautiful Game. Soccer is a global
language that has the power to unify people. Last weekend, a group of players got together in Los
Angeles so that others around the world can have the opportunity to play as well.
The event, called Play Soccer So They Can, was organized by Opportunitas Aequas (Latin for
"Equal Opportunity), a non-profit, grassroots organization that uses soccer to build stronger
communities for youth affected by war and violence.

Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become the latest Barcelona star to egotistically
pronounce the treble winning club's's dominance over their global rivals. Following Sweden's bitter
loss to Denmark this weekend, where the spotlight was stolen away from him thanks to Nicklas
Bendtner's scintillating performance for the Danes, Ibrahimovic has taken his frustrations out on
former club Inter Milan.

Is there anything that the ubiquitous Real Madrid winger can't do? Here's a look at the next big
Latin crooner flexing those vocal cords in a commercial for Portuguese bank's Banco Espirito Santo
new deposit promotion (without a voice encoder we must add). We will say that their interest rates
are quite good and endorsed [.

A great majority of the football world has grown used to laughing off Arsene
Wenger's dramatic remarks over major incidents in recent years. This is precisely why the
Arsenal manager was largely ignored when he labeled the accusations over
Gunners striker Eduardo's recent "dive" against
Celtic as a "witch-hunt".

Manchester United 1 Birmingham City 0 scorer: Rooney There was a subdued air about Old Trafford on

promises to be the most exciting in years. This is one of the many truisms of English Football.
Last season we gaped open mouthed as Manchester City clumsily wooed Global Franchise Entities with
the promise of dreams and Ferrero Rocher.

After what appears to have been a frustrating time in this summer's transfer market, Rafael
Benitez may be forgiven for thinking that his past may be coming back to haunt him.
In August 2004, at the very beginning of his reign at the helm of the Anfield club, Rafa allowed
England's number one striker to leave for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

On the 20th of June 2006 in Cologne, Germany, I was sat high behind the goal in the
RheinEnergieStadion (then called simply 'The FIFA World Cup Stadium') when in the fourth minute, a
figure crumpled to the ground. It was hard to see who it was from my unique vantage point, but the
man sitting to my left immediately turned round and said 'any money it's Owen'.

The Tottenham faithful often wonder why their team cannot break into the top four in the Premier
League. Before the Martin Jol era, they were told that they needed a great coach. After the arrival
of Jol, it was believed that the squad needed bolstering. Once that was done, things got going -
until blunders became the norm again at White Hart Lane.

Ten things I noticed from this week's Champions League semifinals:
1. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Results lie. Sometimes. If not, then in the last 5 years I've been privileged enough to watch
the great Greek team of 2004 justly claim their prize as the greatest international team in
Europe.

So, lets get straight to it. It's the question on everybody's lips. Did Sir Alex Ferguson
disrespect the FA Cup by fielding the cast of Skins? There were rumblings as soon as I entered the
stadium. Some people had seen it on TV in one of the many bars, some had been phoned by friends,
some were just wildly speculating.

With the Champions League quarterfinals a thing of the past, here are eight things I noticed
from the last eight.

While Hull stole the early season headlines, Steve Bruce and his Wigan side have slowly been
marching up the table. Egyptian striker Amr Zaki has led the way, and Bruce's side currently sit
all the way in 7th place. With no real consistency amongst the table this year, Wigan have a
genuine chance of finishing in the top half of the table in 2009.
