Today is Friday the 13th meaning that your odds tonight of being the victim of an axe to the
head or a chainsaw to the torso just went through the roof. Â
So in other words tonight might not be the best night to go for that skinny dip with some
bimbos in the lake or venture on a long walk alone in the woods.

As I mentioned earlier, my father was at the Chelsea game this past Saturday. I had him
write my a little guest blog, and as promised here it is.
I arrived at the Reebok in gentle late afternoon sunshine. No, that's not a joke. In fact, you can
tell that the stadium was not built with sunshine in mind, since for the first half an hour or so I
was there, it was shining directly into my eyes (at first I was so surprised by the unaccustomed
glow I thought Wigan must be on fire – no such luck, however), making it hard to concentrate on
the cheerleaders.

I managed to catch a live match courtesy of the Beeb for the first time this evening. Having missed
out on their previous offerings for a variety of reasons, I made sure to be in for Cardiff's late
afternoon home game against Forest, and I thought that it was well worth it. Terrestrial TV is
usually best avoided at 5pm on the Sabbath, but a bit of Championship football proved to be the
perfect

It's that time again. Time to take notice and realize that the NHL and NBA seasons start way
too soon. It could also be that they end in June, way too late.  Either way, they are burning
the public out. Their schedule is way too long.
Tonight is the NHL's opening night and it feels like, your kidding, right, didn't it just end
like a month ago?

Arsene Wenger's objective view when his players were subject of controversial incidents has been
doubted in a number of occasions. Yesterday, the Frenchman admitted that he was not always sincere
when providing his opinion on such episodes.
The Frenchman said:
At times I saw it, and I said I didn't to protect the player.

Ok, Ok, I know, there was no blog yesterday. Blame the internet pixies for spreading their love
in the form of viruses (or should we blame me for downloading stuff I just should have left alone?
Nah, let's not do that). By the time I got my laptop cleared yesterday it was bedtime and then I
had work first thing today, and then it was late afternoon and there seemed no point as it would
have put me all out of whack for today's blog, and blah blah blah.

I have got so much to tell you.
The reason I haven't posted for a couple of days is I am on holiday.
My lover and I are doing a world tour of the East Coast of England. In our tiny caravan.
We will be away for 2 and a half weeks and have set ourselves 4 objectives;
1.

Just a quick note to say that I plan on releasing my Confederations Cup recap either tonight or
late afternoon tomorrow. I had recorded a segment with Phil Schoen and Kartik that was over an hour
and fifteen minutes long, only to find out the file...

Morning all, today may later herald some good news on the transfer front, you never know but it
is likely to be late afternoon if true. So whilst waiting in hope, and seeing as I have not been
able to find sufficient images of the week to mount the feature today, I have decided to feature
videos.

If the residents of central Bangkok were troubled by a bad smell around late afternoon on Saturday,
it must have been the stink created by the first half of this match. It was a shocker!!
Chula are a poor, poor team and, on this occasion, Chonburi were worse. The visitors started
nervously, suggesting that the 5 goal battering they suffered last week had done more than just
damage their goal difference.

Did I tell you how if the Philadelphia MLS team wanted to be called "Athletic," then the WPS team
should be the "Fillies"? No? Well, now I never can.
I realize WPS is being run on the shoestrings of snakes, but WPS was not quite ready with their
Philadelphia nickname announcement.
To be fair, by the time you click on that link, something might be up.

But first, a poem - because any collection of words that includes the phrase "the high arc of
midsummer" deserves to be repeated today. (As pretty much always, this is from The
Writers Almanac): First Cutting by Susie Patlove (from Quickening) What is the hayfield in late
afternoon that it can fly in the face of time, and light [.
