Sigi, what's going on? So I see we will meet each other in the US Open Cup final. And you are
doing your typical sort of scheduling to leave things to your advantage.
Well, that Chivas de Guadalajara match is important Robert. We gave them our word.
Oh, Sigi, now you want to talk about giving your word?

Remember the last time I wrote when I went to Boston?
And man, is this a great city to be depressed in right now. Fucking rain. Fucking cold.
It's rained for three straight days non-stop, literally I have not seen the sun since I've been
here, and people are telling me that it's been like this for weeks.

David Beckham has set his sights on making his long awaited return for the game against Columbus
Crew on September 11th. The superstar has almost recovered from a snapped Achilles tendon that he
suffered while on loan in Italy with AC Milan.
The 35-year-old midfielder had been given a date of October 1st as his return date, but as always
he seems to be ahead of schedule.

I honestly can't believe that I missed so much of action at Barca. Been away for sometime with
some work. Let me first apologise to the regular readers for not updating the blog.Eventhough I was
tracking each of Barca's event, never got substantial time to pen down my thoughts. The last time I
wrote was about the nonsense of Cesc pursuit and am delighted that it atleast ended for the time
being.

A record breaking weekend for the ages.
18. Torsten Frings scored from the spot against Cologne, successfully
converting his 18th penalty in a row. The last time he missed a penalty was in 2002, when he was
still at Dortmund. Typical German.
0-3 to 4-3.

U19 team that competed in 2008 U.S. Youth Soccer Nationals. Tomorrow we will announce our
first-ever home grown player. That's a big deal. No other pro team in Kansas City can develop a

soccer is that possible.

So this afternoon at the Bridge I will take my seat in the West Stand wondering will we score
another 6 or more today?
That's no disrespect to Stoke who in my view are a good team and being honest I believe that
Tony Pulis has done a remarkable job with his team ever since he came into the Premier
League.

I'm going to be an optimist on the remainder of the Colorado Rapids season. The team has 10
games left, six at home, and is holding on to the final MLS playoff spot.
Saturday, the Rapids (7-6-7, 28 points) face the underperforming Houston Dynamo (6-10-5, 23
points) at 7 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

When Spain won the World Cup last month in South Africa, one of the first things out of my dad's
mouth as we were sitting around the dining room table, pouring out the celebratory Spanish wine,
was that hopefully this would get more people interested in Spanish football, especially La
Liga.

The Portland Timbers face the Austin Aztex at PGE Park in a matchup of two top clubs in the USSF
Division 2 table. Four of the top scorers will be featured tonight, but the last time these teams
met, it ended up scoreless. And apparently, Ross Smith has some other talents besides playing
soccer that we didn't know about.

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has responded to claims that the Rovers could sign David
Beckham. The rumors were started by Blackburn's potential new owner, Ahsan Ali Syed, who claimed
that he'd inject millions of pounds into the club and bring in a big name such as Beckham.
"Mr Syed says that he would like to spend it on youth, and then that he would like to sign David
Beckham," said Allardyce.

Last time the Philadelphia Union met Real Salt Lake, it didn't go too well for our side. Without

Can you recall the last time Arshavin actually played well?
I think he may of had a decent half in the fateful game up at the Brittania last season, aside
from that, are we going back to Anfield away and Blackburn at home?
If he is not fully fit, rest him, and play the lively Vela down our left attacking flank.

We are the better team. Hands down. But we need to be careful. The last time we played the
'Quakes we underestimated their talent (result: 2-2 tie). The 'Quakes are no longer in last place
in the West that honor goes to Chivas. Instead they have climbed to a playoff-run worthy sixth
place. The Galaxy, as you know, are in first place.

If you need another reminder that the economy is affecting everyone, look no further than the
reports emerging today that David and Victoria Beckham had to fire 14 of their 50 staff members.
The layoffs came after a thorough audit by their accountant into their expenses.
Some of the largest cutbacks occurred at their estate in England where the Beckhams let go of
their three human statues (they will reportedly be replaced with actual statues) and the
immigrant family that the Beckhams' used as furniture.

OK, we know he's 37-years-old, but we are excited to see Edgar Davids one last time. The
Dutchman was one of the best central midfielders in his day and has now signed a pay-as-you-play

He's been out of the game for a couple of years now since leaving Ajax, but over the last little
bit had been training with the sons of the Gods.

Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid (despite everything, the guy is clearly one of the finest left

While the anticipated takeover of the club continues to rumble on, the message remains the
same.
The sooner it's sorted out, the better for all concerned.
Of course, it has to be done correctly and with investors who have the club's best interests at
heart.
You would hope that it's done in the next few weeks before the transfer window closes, to free up
some cash for Roy Hodgson to strengthen his squad.
