Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers said that the club would not be sending record signing Andy
Carroll out on loan as late as yesterday, and yet today we hear that Carroll has joined West Ham on
a season-long loan.
"It's great to be here at West Ham and all signed up I just can't wait to get started now,"
Carroll said.
There's been a fair bit of talk about players ‘rotting' at White Hart Lane next season and
comments from Gio dos Santos this week might just lead to that sort of situation.
Gio has incurred the displeasure of head coach Andre Villas-Boas by publicly stating that he
will not be renewing his contract with Spurs when it runs out in 12 months time.
It's almost not worth writing articles during the transfer window these days since you don't know
who to believe unless you actually talk to the players themselves. And even some of them don't have
clue what's going on. Looking over the headlines regarding Theo Walcott and his contract
negotiations with Arsenal you'll see there are about two dozen different scenarios offered by
various writers and newspapers.
it's a pretty quiet Sunday so a very quick round-up ahead of our final game before the new
season kicks off in less than a week's time (hold me). Again, this is just a pre-season game so
conditioning and fitness are paramount, but it's also the first (and last) chance the manager has
to use his new players and give them some match practice before Sunderland.
I am quite surprised to still find Arsenal supporters who actually believe that van Persie was
serious when he wrote that he was not going to renew his contract because he wanted to go to a club
where he would win trophies.
Although, I am not 100% convinced that he personally wrote or even endorsed the piece that
everyone refers to on the web site that bares his name; I do think on balance that we have to
believe it because, quite simply, he has never denied it.

"Because he[RvP] is one of the best no10's in the world" Van Marwijk.
The Dutch national manager Bert van Marwijk opted to play RvP behind the striker, in the no10
position, against Portugal last Sunday. He was desperate to turn things round and for once he gave
in to the strong calls in Holland to play Huntelaar, the Bundeslega top scorer, and RvP, the PL top
scorer, together up front.

Only in Group B of Euro 2012 could a team that's ranked ninth in the world and has more Euro
titles than Portugal and England combined (one) be considered a forgotten underdog, but that's the
position Denmark found themselves in before their opening match against the mighty Netherlands. And
after numerous blown chances from Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben and many others, the only man to
score was Denmark's 29-year-old winger Michael Krohn-Dehli, giving his side an unexpected 1-0
win.
The summer MLS transfer window has been marked by some serious acquisitions, with Designated
Players like Houston's Oscar Boniek Garcia, Vancouver's Barry Robson and Kenny Miller, Montreal's
Marco Di Vaio, New England's Jerry Bengtson, Chicago's Sherjill MacDonald and New York's Tim Cahill
among the new crop of stars joining the league.
Jose de Jesus Ortiz has a nice rundown that finally delivers some much-needed good news.
Jermaine Taylor practiced with the team today and is back from injury. Tell me that TFC and the
Impact drop a collective seven on us with Taylor in there. No way.
Also, Calen Carr is improving and Oscar Boniek Garcia looks like he'll practice with the squad
on Thursday.
Ok, so I'm late to the party - it's about 25 minutes in. But nothing much has happened yet, with
Spain controlling possession, but with only one real chance. Portugal has been tough defending,
with Nani sparking here and there. CRo is lurking, waiting for a chance.
26 - Herrera and Nani team up for a nice run that puts Portugal in a semi-circle around the goal
until Casillas catches a lofted poor cross.

Cristiano Ronaldo has The Sad. Aside from a tweet explaining that it is a professional matter
that has nothing to do with money, it is quite unclear what The Sad is.
The Spanish press are leaving no stone unturned when it comes to discovering the source of The
Sad, and have little option but to resort to the pseudoscience of graphology — or handwriting
analysis — to give an explanation.
What if we told you one of these men is a professional footballer?
There's a strangely inevitable air to this, but the big news of the day down Brazil-way is that,
having not turned up at a Flamengo training session just 13 days into his latest stint at his
boyhood club, new signing Adriano (remember him?
Saturday night's 7:30 PM KONG televised game between the Seattle Sounders FC and the San Jose
Earthquakes could be Seattle's last chance at the top of the Western Conference. With the one game
in hand, two games against the 'Quakes and only seven points difference, this is the chance that
any team asks for within their season.
Oh my....Perkins out! Donovan Ricketts in! and GW still in! The Adin Brown Position has now been
filled. A point vs FC Dallas at home! The first point for Portland since July 3rd and the first
since Gavin Wilkinson took over. What should be the focus of the final 12 games? Toronto FC: The
last chance for a road win?
NEW YORK -- Yankee Stadium looked more like Stamford Bridge on Sunday, but even that could not
help lift Chelsea to victory.
The Champions League winners settled for a 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in their 2012 World
Football Challenge match on Sunday, and they needed a late goal from Lucas Piazon to make that
happen.

The Portland Timbers play their last match of the season against the LA Galaxy, finally getting
the chance to face the defending champions at home. The Timbers have been awfully generous to the
Galaxy this year, as two of LA's seven wins have come against Portland. Saturday's match will be
the Timbers' last chance this season to take points away from them.
Is silverware more important than idealism? by Adam Kemp Arsenal have not won a trophy since they
