Is Warnock the answer to England's World Cup left back problem?

World Cup Bafana Bafana 2010 16 February @ 04:26 AM EDT
Stephen Warnock is being touted as the answer to the England left back problem. The Villa defender almost certainly doesn't shag his team mates' partners or share exotic photos on his mobile. However, since he breaks the same leg every three months, the chances of him lasting a full season are slim. Not so, says Stilian Petrov, who doesn't think any of this matters. PAO 1-1 AEK

AEK Archives 31 January @ 04:00 PM EDT

Well, all I can say is we were lucky. PAO had a few incredible chances to score a few goals but were either stopped by the post or Arabatzis. But, they never should have won in the first round against us so it's all good

We started without Makos which was great news. Our starting XI was Arabatzis, Araujo, Majstorovic, Geraldo, Karabelas, Manduca, Kafes, Jahic, Blanco, Scocco, and Djebbour.

Du Nord 07 January @ 07:54 PM EDT
Thursday January 7, 2010 was the official start date of the next professional soccer team in Minnesota.
The former top team was the Minnesota Thunder who started in 1990, but for all intents and purposes are now just a part of history.
The National Sports Center in the northern suburb of Blaine has stepped forward to start a team and have them play in the newly formed USSF Division 2 league. Click to continue reading...

Absolutely Incredible Start to the Decade!

AEK Archives 06 January @ 06:23 PM EDT

So our players went into this game after the first half of what has been the worst season in AEK's history. Few fans were expecting such a win and such a pleasing performance from our boys. But, they pulled it off (whether the 150,000 Euro bonus they were promised helped at all I dont know) and we have begun the new decade with a fantastic win!

Switzerland: U-17 World Cup Winners and Team of the Future. (Distant Future.)

WorldCupBlog 16 November @ 05:10 PM EDT

Be honest, you'd forgotten entirely about the Under 17 World Cup and that's if you were aware of its running in the first place. We'll also accept admissions from those who confused it with the Under-20 World Cup (Lite) in Egypt won late last month by Ghana.

But it happened, and Switzerland yes, Switzerland took home the trophy, their first of any kind in FIFA territory, from Lagos against what had to be the heavily favored and exceedingly overaged hometown Nigerians.

A Thinking Fan’s Guide to the U-17 World Cup in Nigeria

Pitch Invasion 19 October @ 06:56 AM EDT

I love a World Cup (any World Cup) for the rare opportunity of putting whole imagined nations on public display. Though the main event in South Africa is still eight months away, one junior version (U-20) just finished in Egypt and another (U-17) is just about to begin in Nigeria.

AEK 1-3 Mallorca

AEK Archives 12 August @ 05:10 PM EDT

One final friendly loss for our team before our first Europa League match against Vaslui.

Below is the video of our goal, scored by Leonardo although it deflected of a number of players.

A 3-1 loss at this point really isn't the most encouraging result but it must be pointed out that the squad playing today was largely a B-Team.

Inside Minnesota Soccer | Inside Minnesota Soccer - Uniting Soccer Fans in the S 24 June @ 07:37 AM EDT

I thought I would higlight an interview done recently by my friend Kartik Krishnaiyer over at Major League Soccer Talk. Kartik interivewed Misha Sher, a name I really wasn't very familiar with but some Minnesotan's who have been involved with the game for a while may know.

Misha moved from the Ukraine to Minnesota back in the early 90's playing youth soccer here and spending time on Minneosta ODP teams.
