I think going to bed last night before doing my writeup on the Champions League qualifier last

A difficult result to swallow at home, eh? A bad defensive giveaway leads to Firpos goal midway
through the second half gives Firpo the lead, before Jaime Moreno puts away a goal from the penalty
spot just before halftime. United now has to go to El Salvador next Tuesday (Aug. 4) for the return
leg and pull out a win - never an easy task in Central America.

United takes a short break from League play this evening as it hosts El Salvador's CD LA Firpo
at RFK Stadium (8 p.m. ET) in the preliminary round of CONCACAF Champions League. United took part
in the tournament's inaugural run last fall, but finished with a disappointing 0-5-1 record in the
group stage, crashing out of the tournament before the knockout round.
