It was the best of times... it was the only timesA hectic day in MLS continued after the Expansion Draft ended, with clubs announcing what players
they had waived from their 2011 rosters. Only Columbus, Dallas, Philadelphia and Salt Lake had no
names to add to a waiver list that now includes players like John Rooney and Jefferson Goncalves.
Today also marked the start of the waiver period in MLS. This kind of thing probably will
continue to get flushed out a little more over time now that the league has the Re-Entry drafts
that will be coming up in the next couple of weeks. For the most part any of these players below
just weren't good enough or were too pricy to be apart of that Re-Entry Draft.
A Reds takes Philly's best on the chin
THE BUZZ:The only real curiosity going into today's match at PPL Park for Reds' supporters was what kind of
line-up Aron Winter would trot out. With the official "Most Important Match of the Season" coming
up on Tuesday in Champions League, would the first-year manager opt to play it safe with a B-Squad
- or, would the Dutchman's competitive streak best the coach and see him go for three points
against Philly, risking stamina and injury?

For the second straight day, the Portland Timbers got the better of the Vancouver Whitecaps by a
1-0 scoreline.
After the Timbers' first team accomplished that feat in the debut of BC Place on Sunday, the
Portland reserves did the same on Monday on the strength of an 82nd-minute goal from Bryan Burke
and a clean sheet by Jake Gleeson.

Dasan Robinson is on his third club in just a year, but he's ready to return to the form that
once made him one of the finest young defenders in MLS.
Recently acquired by the Los Angeles Galaxy in exchange for Kyle Davies from Toronto FC, who had
acquired Robinson less than two months earlier from the Chicago Fire, Robinson is not unfamilar
with the L.
Yes, I have faltered in the blogging TFC world in recent weeks. I was so discouraged by the August
home game against San Jose that I stopped thinking and writing TFC for weeks. I had relatives in
town, my beloved uncle from Los Angeles. He has been a soccer fan since his childhood back in
England. We talk soccer all the time on the phone and get together annually - usually to watch the
big games.
I explain why I like the trade between LA and TFC that sees TFC go younger and cheaper with the
acquisition of Kyle Davies and Elbekay Bouchiba nears his long awaited debut for TFC after a season
long injury.

Tonight is the first home game since August 24th. That was over three weeks ago! I think I'm
starting to go through some serious withdrawals. Thankfully, tonight's game followed by next
Wednesday's San Jose Earthquakes home game should help alleviate any symptoms. I got the shakes
real bad...
On a more realistic note, it'll be awesome to get back into the Timbers Army section
tonight.
While it wasn't quite as crazy as the close of the European transfer window, the close of the
MLS transaction window did bring a flurry of moves, though no real blockbusters or moves involving
big-name players.
The deadline day activity was confined to one minor trade and a raid on the roster of USL-Pro
champions Orlando City, with three Orlando City players making moves to MLS sides.
That means you Ty HardenThe seemingly never-ending transfer/ roster freeze/ trade/
beaver pelt barter system that is MLS player transactions finally came to a close today... we
think. Either way, it gave Toronto FC a chance to do one last little piece of business - a
seemingly straightforward defender-for-defender swap which sees Dasan Robinson, who was apparently
a member of TFC, go to Los Angeles Galaxy for Kyle Davies.

Euphoria from last night's performance, let alone victory, has yet to disappear. The monkey for
the Seattle Sounders is possibly off their back after the 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Galaxy. In
reading through the quotes from last night Landon Donovan sums up the match best;
It was a good atmosphere, it was a good environment.

If the New York Red Bulls are to return to their winning ways, they'll have to do so without
their captain.
Thierry Henry did not travel with the team to Houston, the team announced via its official
Twitter feed. Henry, who is tied for third in the league with five goals, had been bothered by
swelling in his right knee and will be rested this weekend.
FC Dallas has scheduled a press conference following Thursday's training session at Pizza Hut
Park to make a player announcement.
As of now there are no hints as to what the player announcement will be, but it appears it will
be a major one as club president and CEO Doug Quinn will be there along with chairman Clark Hunt,
head coach Schellas Hyndman and FC Dallas players.

The Los Angeles Galaxy's defense just got a little deeper.
Los Angeles picked up former U.S. U-20 national team defender Kyle Davies, who was placed on
waivers by FC Dallas on May 5. The 22-year-old Davies will provide cover at centerback for Omar
Gonzalez and A.
Buzz Carrick over at 3rd Degree has been doing a pretty good job at keeping up with the current
rosters for FCD. So...I thought I'd give you a heads up as well. With the latest news that FCD
has let go of Maykel Galindo and Charlie Campbell, the updated rosters look something like
this:
Senior Roster (18 to 20)
MLS rosters are expanding to 30.
