Arsenal vs AZ Alkmaar
AZ Alkmaar have made the short trip to London to take on Arsenal looking to build on their
surprise 1-1 draw out in Holland last time out. A furious Arsene Wenger will be out to tighten up
his leaky defence and see the job done in a week where he spoke about his desire to win the
Champions League trophy.

Phew, writing something vaguely interesting (even for me) at this time of the night here is
hard enough. Where do I start? I know, I'll start with a Lithuanian most of you have forgotten
about.
I was watching (albeit very briefly) Inter at Livorno the other day. It finished 2-0 to Inter
btw.

I apologize to the joker for stealing that quote but it fits in well with this mini review of
the match against AZ Alkmaar.
We've now played three games and collected 7 points. Most often than not, 9 points usually does
the trick with regards to qualification. We have two home games, one against Alkmaar and the other
against Liege.

AZ Alkmaar v Arsenal
Tuesday 20th October 2009
DS Stadium - Alkmaar
UEFA Champions League
Kick-off: 19:45 UK (20:45 CET)
Champions vs 4th placed team games are rarely this mismatched - the Dutch champions go into this
game as underdogs despite playing at home (courtesy of a poor start to the season) while England's
fourth-best team have punters and pundits salivating over another potential European master-class
from Wenger's men.

Two wins from two games so far in the Champions League. Given our excellent form, the third one
looks likely tomorrow against Alkmaar. They might be the Champions of Holland but they just lost at
the weekend and are 6th in the table. The Dutch League isn't as strong as it was a decade ago.
Now most of you know that Walcott won't be playing tomorrow.

1992 Kıtalararası Kupa final maçı. Yer Tokyo.

Well here we are in the middle of August.
August to most of us is one of the most nerve wracking months of the year. A new Liga season is
literally only a couple weeks away.. final adjustments and changes are being made and a tally of
results in preseason matches have either inspired hope or dismay in the fans.

It may have been coming for a while but you have to pay tribute to Pep Guardiola's Barcelona for
their achievements so far in a season that could still get even better.
Champions and Copa Del Rey winners, his side have dominated the Primera Division this year and
are worthy winners. They can, of course, claim a treble with a win over Manchester United in the
Champions League final in Rome next Wednesday.

Before the season had started, many had tipped Valencia to challenge for the Premera Liga title, or
at the least close the gap between Real Madrid and Barcelona and themselves.
A string of highly publicised arguments last season between the manager, Quique Flores and sporting
director, Amedeo Carboni, was seen as a key factor as to why Valencia only finished in fourth
position in La Liga last season and so Carboni was sacked after it was decided that there was only
enough room at the club for one or the other.
