Striker links with Spurs are set to increase over the next few days as it seems increasingly
likely that Roman Pavlyuchenko will be on a Rocket to Russia next month.
With Adebayor's future far from settled, this seems like a sensible time to get involved in the
transfer market and at present, there are a number of German based strikers being linked with
Premiership clubs.
January will soon be with us and while the striking situation at White Hart Lane doesn't seem
quite so desperate as it did last season, it still seems likely that Spurs will be entering into
the market at some stage for reinforcements.
Despite Pav's wonder strike against his compatriots from Rubin Kazan last week, he has had a
lacklustre start to the season and could well move on this winter.
Throughout the week we've looked at all areas of the Tottenham side and asked which players
should be targeted in the transfer market this summer. In attack, many fans argue that our entire
front line could be cleared out after a disappointing campaign, but while Robbie Keane and Roman
Pavlyuchenko seem certain to leave, Defoe and Crouch could be retained for the start of
2011-12.
According to Talksport, Tottenham will be offered the chance to sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for
£16 million in the summer. Many fans will be split on this, as there are rumours that he rejected
the chance to join Spurs a few years ago.
Huntelaar is without doubt a good player, with 26 goals in 42 games for Holland and with our
midfield behind him I believe a natural born finisher like Huntelaar would score goals.
Having bid for half of La Liga during the January window and ended up with no one, it will be
interesting to see which striker we go for in the summer.
With potential targets such as Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez now off the market, here's some
forwards that Harry could be targeting at the end of the season.
It seems there are two things you have achieve in your career to be linked with Spurs these
days:
• Have played under Harry at Portsmouth
• Have appeared alongside Rafael van der Vaart in the past.
Into category number 2 comes Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. His career path narrowly missed Rafa's at
Ajax, but they have played together at Real Madrid.
