Liverpool overcame Manchester City to reach the Carling Cup Final their first final at Wembley
since the 1996 FA Cup Final and the club have already chosen what suit they will be wearing. The
Reds last played at the home of English football in 1996 when they took on mortal enemies
Manchester United in the [.
Okay. It's not just me. I've asked a few people if this thing looks like it should be worn with a
kilt and have 100% agreement.
Wait a minute...Isn't Beckham intent on leading Team Great Britain at the London Olympics this
summer? What better way to get the Scots on board with his leadership, eh?
Thierry Henry has all but completed his two-month loan move back to Arsenal after photos of the
French striker wearing the new Arsenal shirt were released. The Gunners legend will spend
two-months on loan with his former club and is even expected to feature in Arsenal's FA Cup
third-round tie with Leeds United at the [.
I'm a fan. I won't say anything else about this because I can't explain how badly I am looking
forward to the day where all MLS clubs can do a Retro Day.
In the past few weeks we've two impressive stories of professional soccer players battling off
field problems. The first was David Testo who made public the fact that he is gay. That is
challenging in and of itself, but it takes that much more courage to come out when you're a
professional athlete. As impressive as that story was, I was struck by another.

It's blue. It's white. And that's about it. Simple and to the point but nothing over the
top.
Boy that away jersey just screams San Jose and old school Kansas City.
What do you all think?
Train. Wreck.
Absolute train wreck. 30% off at the team store? I'm afraid you'll need to be paying me to
wear such an abomination. Which, I suppose, is how they got those gentlemen above to don them.
Ignoring for a moment the awfulness of the red away collars and those apparently bloody sleeves.
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri stole the headlines during his sides 2-1 defeat to Napoli n
Tuesday night by sporting a pair of brightly coloured underpants! N/H The image immediately went

One of the saddest parts of modern football is the way in which the non-Premier League divisions
have been neglected and forgotten by the mainstream media. Take a look through some old cigarette
card collections or the wonderful Football League Review magazine and you'll find that although not
necessarily billed as equals with First Division clubs, many of the smaller lower league sides were
included and covered alongside many of the giants of English football.
Spain have warmed up nicely ahead of their friendly clash with England at Wembley by revealing a
brand new strip for Euro 2012. The outstanding feature of the new kit is its tightly-fitted nature;
meaning that opponents will find it harder to tug at the European and World champions an attribute
which Spanish striker [.
The first ever La Liga game played at midday resulted in a resounding 7-1 win for Real Madrid as
Cristiano Ronaldo smashed home another hat-trick to crush sorry Osasuna. There was no mercy for the
visitors at the Santiago Bernabeu as a ruthless Real Madrid side hit Osasuna for 7 in a
Ronaldo-inspired goal frenzy.
Mario Balotelli's fabulous T-shirt asking 'Why Always Me?' is now on sale for $13.90 and is set to
come to a shop near you! Balotelli curled in the opening goal at Old Trafford for visitors
Manchester City before the striker stood still in Eric Cantona-like fashion, looked dead straight
before brandishing a powerful, yet humorous [.
Today Chelsea have revealed their new 3rd kit for this season and I have to say straight away
WHY!!?.
Why on earth do we need a 3rd kit that has black and yellow on it for god sake, so please someone
tell me, I thought your kit was supposed to represent your club! How on earth does this one
represent us?

Uh huh, you know what it is. The Trotters are back in black for the first time since the Anelka
days. A photo of our away shirt leaked ages ago but this morning, we have got a photo of Gretar
Steinsson wearing the full kit and in my opinion... It's fantastic.
As you can see, the kit is all black save for yellow badges, yellow Reebok logos, a white 188Bet
sponsor logo, and some yellow accents.
Is this the new Chelsea 3rd strip?.
Credit to todosobrecamisetas.net to obtained a leaked photo. It's totally different to anything we
would even consider but based on some of our kits in recent times it's not too bad in my
opinion.
What are your thoughts?

Football-Shirts leaks what appears to be this season's third kit. Eh.
As with this year's away, I was initially impressed but am now indifferent. It's clean, which is
a plus, yet could have been so much more. I feel as if this colorway could have been used in a much
more innovative fashion.
This shirt reminds me of...... I don't know about you but this shirt from the 2001/02 season
always reminds me of Juan Sebastian Veron. I'd be lying if I said the ultimate failure of Veron to
fulful his undoubted potential at United isn't one of my greatest disappointments down the years.
When 'Seba' [.

The fan response to the leaked images of our apparent new away shirt has been overwhelmingly
negative. Me, I fucking love it. Guess I just have something for the atypical.

What do you guys think?
Real Madrid and Barcelona have both unveiled their new strips for the 2011/2012 season
by adding a little twist and elegance.
The pair have been involved in some weighty clashes on the field having squared up no less
than five times this season as the eternal rivals continue to monopolize the top of La Liga.
Do you ever skim through the hot-off-the-press football strips and flush green with envy
because your club have churned out yet another eye-sore? If your answer to this question is yes,
then read on. If not, consider yourself lucky...
First of all I must say those who support a classic coloured team gain an advantage come post
season.
Well we saw the teasers. We got excited. Your beloved blogger Mark even made a mock up of what
he thought (hoped) the new shirts would look like. And then tonight, we find out that the look like
this.
It's difficult to know what to say at this point except that it's all wrong. I was hoping that it
would grow on me, but it just gets worse every time I look at it.
Everyone has been talking for weeks about the new LFC kit, and plenty of fakes have been
circulated over the internet, but we have a picture of both the LFC 11/12 away kit and the new
11/12 LFC goalkeeper shirt!

It's that time of year again, when the leaked images start surfacing and the message boards
light up with insinuation and rumor-mongering as to what our colors for next year will be. After
the jump, we have two photos of what may well come.
So, first, we have an image of one Frank Lampard rocking what would be considered our home/first
kit for next year.
So I watched the first half of First Kick last night, desperate for my initial 2011 fix of domestic
ball with the training wheels taken off. Not having a particular rooting interest for either team
(beyond wishing it were possible that both could lose), I found myself a detached viewer,
imagining, as I suppose is only natural for the inherently insecure long-term American soccer fan,
what someone from foreign climes peering in at our exotic little strain of the game would think or
what assumptions they might make about MLS given this brief window into our world.

The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) presented today Argentina's new kit, to be used in
Copa America. The home kit is quite nice, the away not at all. Messi is looking rather nice
though...

Fashion puts it stamp on just about every decade. From 60's suits to 70's flares, the puff-ball
skirts, rolled-up jacket sleeves and torn jeans of the 80's, through to the beginnings of the
anti-fashion trend in the '90's and finally on to the chav-and-Ugg's generation we have now.
Football jerseys have moved with the times too, capturing the styles of the day.
Sportlifestyle brand PUMA kicked off the 2011 women's soccer season during a launch event
Thursday night, while celebrating a momentous year for the sport, a new season for Women's
Professional Soccer (WPS), and the debut of the PUMA Women's Soccer Training Collection.
With the FIFA Women's World Cup on the horizon, PUMA pulled out all the stops to showcase its
longstanding commitment to women's soccer, the best female players on the planet, and the millions
of young rising stars throughout the world.
Looks like the club is already recovering some of that British record transfer fee.

Marketability. The Mirror today has a story regarding the retail madness that has been
Fernando Torres shirt sales. Since the Spanish striker joined Chelsea from Liverpool on Monday
night, the club have reportedly sold a billion No.
While we're on the subject of obsessing about shirts...
Sounders HQ should be taking notes from this guy (or gal).
Hell, after looking at the rest of the gallery, the league as a whole should pony up for a
consulting fee right now (with the understanding that goddamn adidasâ„¢ still sucks in
fantasyland—witness the New England kits—though the Packers ones aren't bad).
I saw this link earlier and boy did it get passed around twitter like crazy. I finally got time
this evening to talk about it and post the images from it. Someone out there had some mad photoshop
skills and did some NFL team's soccer kits.
Honestly these are all great. My favorites are St. Louis, Buffalo, and Green Bay.
The DC United third shirt announcement got me thinking about the distribution of shirt colors in
MLS, notably the common complaint amongst league fans that "everything is red and blue" with navy
blue often singled out as a particularly egregious offender. So I did what seemed logical and
headed for a spreadsheet (sad, I know, but true).
Marketing? Money-grab? Shameless euro-poseurism? Jedi mind trick (
"these aren't the forwards
you're looking for...")?
All of the above.
But screw it. News is slow. In lieu of speculation on where the goals are going to come from this
year, let's roll with the fashion angle and tea leaf strewn guessing-game nonsense, shall we?
As part of Nike's French 'new era' campaign a Nike representative talks football
