We're heading towards an international break for friendlies and World Cup qualifiers. A couple former KC players have been called up already for national team duty. Daneil Cyrus has been called up for some friendlies for Trinidad, Roger Espinoza has been called up for Honduras' upcoming World Cup qualifiers, while Eddie Johnson and Herculez Gomez have been called up for the USA's upcoming 5 friendlies.
Kei Kamara scored in only his second appearance for Norwich City this past weekend against Everton. Kamara played the final 32 minutes causing all sorts of problems for the Everton back line and scored with a thumping header. In other news, Sunil Chhetri has returned to India on loan, joining Churchill Brothers.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. Lots of former Wizards are on trial. Neal Kitson has apparently been trialing with the Chicago Fire. With him training with Chicago is Rauwshan McKenzie. Even though he's on trial with the Fire McKenzie is still under contract with Chivas. Khari Stephenson is another player trailing with another MLS squad, Real Salt Lake.
Another week of former Wizards updates. Lots of news outside of games for former Wizards. Along with Roger Espinoza set to join the list of former Wizards, a number of former players are set to go into the reentry draft after being released from their MLS clubs. Shavar Thomas and Tyson Wahl were already going to be entering that, and 3 more players today joined that list.
Here is this week's former Wizards update. Not a lot of goals this week, only Sunil Chhetri's goal
against Cameroon in the Nehru Cup. Next week will be a light week with national team duty going on.
Here is the information though.

Another week of former Wizards updates, and a few changes as the European leagues begin to get
going. Eloy Colombano, Zoltan Hercegfalvi and Neal Kitson have moved back into the unknown list as
they're no longer with their clubs from last season. One player, Carlos Marinelli has moved back
onto the list as he's signed with an Argentine 3rd division club.
More European leagues are kicking off. Here's a look at this week's update.

regularly. With KC's scoring woes, it hurts a little seeing both Herculez Gom ez and Yura Movsisyan
scoring in their club's season opener. Here's the rest of this week's update.

It's another week of former SKC Wizards updates. First, congratulations to two former Wizards. Tony
Meola was officially inducted into the US Soccer hall of fame last week before the US game vs
Brazil. Also, Alex Bunbury, father of current Wizard, Teal Bunbury, was named to Canada's all time
starting XI.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. The foreign leagues are starting to wind down for the

This week's former SKC Wizards update is available for you. The European leagues are starting to
wind down for the year, while the US leagues are really kicking into gear. In indoor news, two
former players were called up to the US Futsal national team. Boris Pardo, currently of the
Missouri Comets, and Pat Healey were both called in for a camp as they prepare for the CONCACAF
Fustal championships.
Another week of former SKC Wizards updates. Two new former players are on the list Michal Mravec is
playing in the Dutch second division, while Milos Stojcev is playing for FC Akzhayik, the league
leaders in Kazakhstan. In fact, Stojcev scored on the weekend. Also active this week, was Yura
Movsisyan, who scored 3 goals in two games this week.

The second round of the MLS Re-Entry Draft is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 3:00 PM. After only Maicon Santos was selected by the Chicago Fire in the first round of the Re-Entry Draft last week, we should expect to see a bit more movement today, since teams will now have the ability to re-negotiate the contracts of players that they select.
The San Jose Earthquakes declined to exercise the 2013 contract option of veteran defender-midfielder Ramiro Corrales on Wednesday, meaning his time with the Quakes appears finished.
The Supporters Shield winners parted ways with Corrales, a 14-year MLS veteran who is also the last remaining active MLS originals from 1996.
The post match focus has mostly been about why the evil Eddie Johnson pile drove Jed Zayner into
the turf after Zayner sent a plate of fresh baked cookies and a polite letter to Johnson requesting
that he relocate his victory celebrations. But that's unfair to a game that should be heartening to
Seattle fans who were sick of watching a team clearly talented enough to win and win frequently not
be able to keep control of a match.
In seasons past we've generated shot +/- stats for players to illuminate how teams play with
certain players on the field. We've been a little remiss in waiting this long into the season to
get the 2012 stats out, but with the international break it's a good time.
As a refresher, we count the net shots a team generates with a player on the field (so their
team's shots minute shots allowed) and normalize it to 90 minutes.
CARSON, Calif. -- Alan Gordon scored in stoppage time as the San Jose Earthquakes erased a late
two-goal deficit with three unanswered goals to defeat the Los Angeles Galaxy, 3-2, on Wednesday.Â
After going down due to goals from Hector Jimenez and Mike Magee, San Jose clawed back as Steven
Lenhart and Khari Stephenson scored before Gordon's dramatic stoppage time winner.
Summer friendly season gets an early start, as Schalke visits PPL Park to take on the
Philadelphia Union tonight at 7:30.
The match gives U.S. national team fans a chance to check out Jermaine Jones' before his
expected call into May training camp in addition to seeing Bundesliga-leading scorer Klaas-Jan
Huntelaar and star Spanish striker Raul, who will not be returning to Schalke after this season and
is entertaining transfer moves to other leagues.
Soccer is a blame game. Goals aren't common, so when you give one up, everyone goes looking for
someone to blame. But is it that simple?
Long-time PSP readers know I like to dissect goals. (I play center back. What do you expect?) So
let's play.
We'll pick out the first San Jose goal, shown in the video below, not just because it's an
absolute clinic of good attacking soccer, but also because the defensive breakdown may not be where
it seemed to be.
Substitute Stephen Lenhart's stoppage time goal ended the Union's unbeaten streak at three
matches as the Western Conference leading San Jose Earthquakes stole three points at PPL Park on
Saturday night. It was a busy 30 minutes for Lenhart, who also broke the scoreless deadlock in the
76th.
He didn't even play half an hour, but Steven Lenhart's physical style of play in the box worked
wonders on Saturday night as his two goals led the San Jose Earthquakes to victory over the
Philadelphia Union.
After 75 minutes of mostly boring play from both teams, Lenhart broke the deadlock when he
headed in a cross from fellow substitute Marvin Chavez.
If you told most D.C. United fans that Dwayne DeRosario and Hamdi Salihi would start the season
without a goal in the first seven matches they probably would have assumed a terrible start. Seven
weeks into the 2012 season, neither DeRosario or Salihi has a goal but Chris Pontius and Maicon
Santos have more than picked up the slack.
Real Salt Lake and San Jose, 1 and 2 in the West respectively, met in San Jose last night to
duke it out for top spot in the West. Coming into the match the Quakes had been unbeaten in 4 games
and Real Salt Lake had won 5 of 7. The previous 2 meetings between these two teams in San Jose went
Real Salt's way, with a 3-0 drumming in 2010 and a rain soaked 1-0 win in 2011.
There's a new top dog in the MLS Western Conference.
Playing with nine men, conference-leading Real Salt Lake succumbed to two San Jose Earthquakes
goals in second-half stoppage time, as San Jose won 3-1 at Buck Shaw Stadium to take over the top
spot in the West.
Simon Dawkins scored the game-winner off Stephen Beitashour's second assist of the night, and
Chris Wondolowski netted his league-leading eighth goal to cap off the victory -- San Jose's first
over RSL since July 3, 2009.
New York Red Bulls coach Hans Backe needed two words to describe his team's defensive effort
against the San Jose Earthquakes this weekend.Â
"Ball watching." Â
While the Red Bulls' offense has erupted for 16 goals through six matches, the defense has been
woeful, allowing 10 goals – good for third-most in the league -- and the club twice blew one-goal
leads at home Saturday, settling for a 2-2 draw with San Jose.
McCarty Celebrates His First New York Goal With BallouchyThe New York Red Bulls had managed
to get through the first five games of the current season without a single draw, after settling for
sixteen stalemates in 2011. With Thierry Henry and Kenny Cooper in terrific goal-scoring form, it
has simply been impossible for opponents to match New York's production.
The New York Red Bulls are quickly building a reputation as one of the most schizophrenic sides
in Major League Soccer. The team squandered two early leads at home, getting victimized by a pair
of brilliant San Jose goals en route to a deflating 2-2 draw.
Union fall 2-0 to DC United, De Rosario and Pajoy the villains. Hack says team more balanced. More season previews. Preseason wraps from around the league. Brazilian drones. More news.
