KANSAS CITY, Kansas -- Sporting Kansas City is one of the toughest teams in the league to beat
at home, and doing so with ten men and without your top player makes the task all but
impossible.
The New York Red Bulls learned that fact after seeing Thierry Henry sent off for violent conduct
in the 28th minute.
Score three goals and shut out a likely playoff team and you should feel pretty good.
Unfortunately for the Seattle Sounders, their 3-0 win over DC United was just about ruined when
Mauro Rosales went down with an injury late. After the game, it was revealed Rosales sprained MCL
and that he would at least miss Tuesday's CONCACAF Champions League match against Herediano.
Kevin Stott pointed to the spot before pointing upfield in a sweeping motion.
Although the fans will probably remember Referee Kevin Stott's no calls on penalty kicks, or
Alvaro Fernandez's missed penalty kick, this game will go down as a wasted opportunity for Sounders
to level the series with Chivas while they rebuild the roster.

Penalty kick drama (or lack thereof) highlighted an uncharacteristically exciting scoreless draw
as the Sounders slugged it out with Chivas USA to split the points in Seattle.
Often the hero for the hosts, Alvaro Fernandez looked to be right on track as the DP drew a
first-half penalty after Michael Umana handled the ball in the area.

Today's scoreless draw against Chivas had many defining moments, but the one freshest in
everyone's mind is the missed penalty call by Kevin Stott in the waning minutes. I say 'missed' not
'potential' or 'disputed' because the challenge that sent Neagle over was a foul anywhere on the
pitch in any league in any competition in the world.

Sporting KC picked up a point on the road last night down in Houston, in a 1-1 draw with the
Dynamo. Read that statement on it's own and you'd think that was a good result for the Wizards in a
location that they haven't played well in over their history. But when you explain that KC played
up a man for about 20 minutes, and played up 2 men for 20 minutes, 40 minutes with a numerical
advantage, then the draw loses a lot of it's luster.

Sun burnt and annoyed with another draw.
Quick and Dirty Recap:
New York strikes first in the 40th minute with Joel Lindpere scoring after Yamith Cuesta hit his
clearance into Lindpere allowing the Estonian to get the ball and put it past Johnson. From my
viewpoint it looked like Cuesta's clearance hit Lindpere's hand which allowed the goal to be
scored.
When the lineup for tonight's game against FC Dallas was announced, I don't know if there were many
fans, if any, predicting a point, let alone all three as Sporting KC took it to FC Dallas, winning
4-1, even though they played the last 30 plus minutes down a man. With virtually only 18 players
healthy, or not with their national team, KC looked set to continue their long winless run, while
Dallas looked set to extend their own unbeaten run to 10 games.
