A Russian oligarch who's even richer than Roman Abramovich has signed a letter of
intent to buy the New Jersey Nets. At the same time, academics are concocting plans to introduce
promotion and relegation to American sports. I'm not saying this is a thing, but given Kobe's love
of Barcelona and David Beckham's unclassifiable homosocial bond with Kevin Garnett, I don't think
anyone will be too shocked if Steve Nash scores a free throw with his head next season.

Remember when future NBA hall of famer, original member of OBF (Original Black Family), Kevin
Garnett received that Chelsea jersey not too long ago. The man went absolutely crazy. We, at The
Chelsea Offside, love him for it  despite our well-documented hate for the Boston Celtics.
Now, one of the originals to jump from high school straight to the pros has floored us once
again.

While most of the major Premier League clubs are transfixed on creating new fanbases in China
only, most of the clubs have ignored the United States. Chelsea is one of the few exceptions, so
it's interesting to see hear about Chelsea's latest announcement today that it has partnered with
Adidas to develop a basketball shoe, which comes with an exclusive scarf and Chelsea jersey.

Say what you will about the obscene amount of money being spent by Manchester City this summer,
but you have to admit that there's a certain perverse pleasure in watching someone build a
real-life club lineup in much the same way that most regular joes would create their starting XI in
a video game.

So after Daryl posted the Becks v KG bit yesterday, these lads decided that such a response
requires another test of sorts and immediately set out to do their part in quashing the squabble.
With one holding skills from basketball and the other in footy, they freestyled continuously in
front of a camera for 8 [.

Above is a new three stripes commercial, featuring Galaxy/Milan (delete as applicable) midfield man
David Beckham and Boston/Celtics (what? oh, that's one team) power forward Kevin Garnett. Here's
what I deduce from this video: Kevin Garnett isn't great at soccer. He looks... clumsy. That's no
knock on Garnett, as he's probably got a better first [.

Adidas show ponies shoot hoops Filming on this new Adidas commercial presumably took place before
David Beckham's Green Card was revoked, but here he is just chillin' with a tall gentleman called
Kevin Garnett, who plays basketball for the Boston Celtics. The duo play a bit of basketball before
settling down to the task of kicking a [.

When I was twelve I used to play basketball in indoor soccer shoes. Everyone on my team, decked
out in the newest C-Webs and Air Penny's, laughed at me. They said I would turn my ankle, and that
I looked stupid.
Out of stubborn pride, I maintained that basketball shoes were too heavy, and that I was quicker
and more explosive wearing soccer shoes, which always felt more natural.

I don't mind the MLS All-Star game. I realize that may not sound like a ringing endorsement of the
event and it's not. I write this not to defend the league, because to me, liking the game a matter
of preference, like peanut butter. If one travels around the world at all, one realizes that
outside of the U.

I dislike the Boston Celtics. Let me rephrase that: I hate the Celtics. Paul Pierce has the ugliest game known to man. James Posey isn't that far behind. And PJ Brown, well, useless.
But their icon, the man they traded about 32 players for, Kevin Garnett, is a Chelsea fan.
