Andy Johnson's hat-trick and ongoing contract talks got me thinking. Should we renew? Tough
call, but my instinct is that if we do it should be very much on our terms. He's been a good
player to have around, but the time he's spent off the pitch should be a red herring flag
(herring indeed!
Our latest conversation is with Danny Brothers, author of a number of posts for us including a look
back at Northampton Town's 1996-7 play-off winning side. Danny runs his own blog and this has the

Ryan Fredericks, Tom Carroll and Harry Kane all got their first taste of senior Spurs action in
the recent Europa Cup tie against Hearts, but they were outshone last night by new Spanish arrivals
Cristian Ceballos and Yago Falque.
Tottenham travelled to Northamptonshire to take on Kettering in a testimonial for their
Senegalese striker Jean-Paul Marna and came from behind twice to win the game 5-4.
It looks increasingly likely that Ledley King will be available for Spurs this weekend after his
latest comeback from injury.
Club captain Ledley underwent knee surgery in July and has been slowly working his way back to
fitness ever since. It was expected that he would feature in last night's game against Kettering
but instead he featured in a training ground friendly a day earlier and it appears that he came
through unscathed.

David Bridges has returned to Kettering Town, 3 years after he made the move in the opposite
direction to sign for Graham Westley's revolution. A lot has changed in those 3 years. Boro have
gone from annual underachievers in the Conference to punching above their weight in League 1. That
is ultimately the reason why Bridges' time at Broadhall Way has been cut short.

Another Saturday and another game in my home county of Leicestershire for the third time in a row.
This time my options were not that limited but I wanted to be back in a reasonable time so as to
